  1. um...eewwwww. Looks like a guys overdeveloped pecs that went soft.
  2. That totally depends what you are using it for. If it's to go online, pay your bills, write some letters, play a few games...you can get a computer that will handle that and more, and very well, for a good price prebuilt. Most people don't come close to utilizing the processing power of todays pcs. As long as it has decent RAM, a good video card, and enough hard drive space, then it's perfect for 90% of us. My new HP is a media center pc with video capture, built in DVR, time shifting radio, with a good video card for playing games, 2GB RAM, Athlon 64 3800+, usb ports everywhere, 5 in 1 card reader, 250GB HD, dual layer DVD burner with Lightscribe and came with a 19" analog flat screen and 3 year warranty for $1100. And when I get the xbox 360 it has a built in wireless media center extender so I can than play all the music and videos on my pc through my home theater in the living room.
  3. Who's lying? Go here and put in 1994-2005. You'll see that unemployment was lower during portions of Clinton's term. Where do you get your incorrect propaganda? http://workforcesecurity.doleta.gov/unemploy/claims.asp And as far as more people paying less taxes...Considering the record deficits and debt I don't find that to be a good thing. How are these debts going to be paid off? They're growing every day.
  4. That's how I see it. Bush got pushed into it by the people he has around him. His big failing is not recognizing that and getting rid of them or at least seeking alternate council. At least Kennedy learned his lesson after the Bay of Pigs. Bush got hoodwinked in the same way, but still doesn't see it, just like his supporters.
  5. Yep...I actually pointed out the flipside in the next phrase. Thanks for letting me know there's a flip side. And no offense intended to anyone, but I have to concur that I see very religious individuals as being a little crazy. Hey, I'm a little crazy too, everyone has their quirks. But that's how I see belief in a supreme being. That doesn't mean I'm not tolerant of you whackos
  6. That's the point. The crime rate is higher here with just as many guns. You are trying to claim that guns are the cause of murders. Switzerland is a valid comparison as it relates to gun laws. If guns were the cause, they'd have the same problems. Obviosly it must be something else tht is the cause.
  7. If you're getting a new one check out HP. I just got a nice media center pc cheaper than Dell. And I think better design and definitely better customer service.
  8. true in theory ut in this country without credit card debt you can't get a credit score, so i have to use the credit card for stuff i would by choice spend cash on so i can build a credit score and gt massively in debt buying a house You don't have to carry a balance. I use credit cards, as much as posssible since it makes tracking where you spend a lot easier. But only as much as I can afford to pay off that I already have in the bank.
  9. I believe in the first amendment, that the government shall not censor or infringe on our right of assembly. But if some retard shows up at my bros funeral screaming into a bullhorn, I reserve the right to kick their ass. I'm not the government. I read about this on a motorcycle riders board. There are a bunch of motorcycle clubs offering their services to prevent these freaks from disurbing the grieving family members of fallen soldiers any longer. Good for them.
  10. In other words there're are a whole convoluted set of laws that differ from community to community. So much so that if I have one round of the ammunition that I can use in the range down the street in my pocket when I go over the bridge 2 miles away, I can go to jail. You have to know the law for every community that you go to otherwise you could easily be a criminal.
  11. BZZZTTTT. Sometimes when skydiving, on what you think is a safe dive...things can go to shit. That's when an AAD can save you and that's why it's used. Sometimes when going through life, doing a normal thing like driving down the street....things can go to shit. That's when having a means of defense can save you, and that's why it's used. Don't presume to know why I do the things I do. If you want to know, ask. But you can't tell me why I choose to use an AAD or carry a defensive weapon.
  12. As usual, you're ignoring the fact that other countries have comparable gun laws with lower homicide rates. The US has higher per capita income than most other countries and higher homicide rates. Maybe it's money that makes us murder. Can guns be used to kill? Yes. Are there more guns in the US than many other places? Yes. Do guns make people murder? Is that really what you are suggsting? That an inanimate object is the CAUSE of murder? Or maybe the CAUSE is something else, and guns are used in that cause. Doesn't that seem a little more logical? And if that's the case, then the cause should be addressed, otherwise one tool can eaily be replaced with another if the cause still exists. I challenge you to find another country with the same socio-economic conditions of being populated entirely by immigrants with all different ethnic backgrounds and cultures, with a large population consisting of a recently freed enslaved race (200 years is NOT enough time to erase the effects of that), the largest disparity between rich and poor that exists in the world, and the highest rate of incarceration of any modern-western nation. Seems to me there are lot of things different about the US than other countries. And they all seem more likely candidates to be the cause of murder than the existence of inanimate tools. In other words, the old cliche, guns don't kill people, people do. Unless and until you address the reason that people kill more in the US than most anywhere else (and it's NOT guns) then removing the tool isn't going to do shit except maybe penalize the innocent who no longer have parity with the murderous criminals of society that will continue to exist.
  13. Someone want to explain to me how she's shown you that she's intolerant? Because she thinks others opinions are wrong doesn't mean she doesn't tolerate them. Intolerant is when you actively seek to stop someone from expressing an opinion or acting in a certain way. Christians that protest at gay pride festivals are intolerant. Atheists that try to banish voluntary moments of silence in schools are intolerant. How does that relate to Jen's posts?
  14. I'm a non-violent person, but I don't believe in being intimidated or terrorized either. Disregarding the fact that there are fat people, or crippled people that can't run, I don't want to run. I don't want to be at the mercy of any thug with a stick and have to run and hide when confronted by a criminal. I wouldn't want to ever have to shoot anyone, but I don't want to be a victim either.
  15. Of course. That's why I said it was my observation. However a breakdown of the number of guests who are affiliated with one party or the other is hard to skew.
  16. Thanks for the reminder. Remember to donate to the Democratic party so that they can take back the country from the extremists!!
  17. Shhh...you're not supposed to point that out in SC. SC is a place to make yourself feel intelligent. And if you add a clicky, you're super intelligent. No shit...we all know we really know everything!!! The point that we DON;T know is why we discuss it. If we all knew the truth, there would be nothing to debate. We shouldn't need to put IMHO on every post. Every post on here is assumed to be opinion. At least I don't believe just about anything I read on here. Especially what I write!
  18. Ummm...I think these are both satire, like the Onion.
  19. I saw a breakdown posted on here before from Fairness in Media or some other such organization. It was a detailed listing of political guests on all the different networks and news programs. Almost all the networks had a fairly even breakdown between left and right. FOX was the exception with many more guests from the right. I think it was a 2-1 margin. (If you don't buy this I'll try to find the info to show you). Anyway...my observation is that FOX anchors may be a little more neutral in their presentation of news stories (anchors, not commentators like O'reilly or hannity) than most media. Most will present news with a view somewhat to the left. However, non-FOX news usually presents a more neutral selection of stories and neutral seleciton of guests on opinion shoes. FOX ignores a lot of stories and guests that look good for the left, or bad for the right.
  20. yea, you and i can handle a fender bender without weapons. The point you're missing is....you can't control how OTHER PEOPLE will handle it. Are you trying to tell me that no one ever reacts to anything with violence in Germany? Or are you advocating the banning of sticks? Why was it a horror for the man with the gun to save the other person from being beaten with a club? Should everyone just have stood around and watched him get his head smashed in? Is that more pallatable to you?
  21. Ok...more specifically....fire arms. Not all forms of weapons.
