  1. Jeff is great! We're all very happy to have him with us. Doesn't matter what he's flying, it's always a pleasure. He's lots of fun on the ground, too! Easy Does It
  2. 0:1:2 First jump since the broken ankle incident back in November. A hop-n-pop in some cold-ass weather. I stumbled when I landed but other wise the jump was fine. Also, first jump in my new Wings, and a slightly larger canopy that what I have been jumping. (I went from a Spectre 150 to a 170 - ) Safety Day was fun, it has been announced we're getting a PAK 750 this season, it will be here Friday. Easy Does It

  5. Well, weather permitting tomorrow is the Big Day. I've got my Spectre 170 back from PD with a new set of lines and a clean bill of health- My rig has a fresh repack and will be waiting at the club for me in the AM. I have a brand-new McDavid level III brace. (Recommended my my physical therepist-) Prolly just a hop-n-pop, but just the same - I'm really looking forward to it! Here we go! Easy Does It
  6. Hell yeah - Even though I run the department, I know my guys can handle whatever comes up. I've been known to call my lead man and tell him I have a case of "ground poisoning". (Also known as "Blue Sky Fever"-) As long as all is going well, it's no problem! Easy Does It
  7. More good news! Esau had his follow-up exam with the doc today - Everthing has gone very well! The doctor is very pleased with the results, and says the liklihood of any more surgery is very slim. Esau himself is very happy. It's done alot to improve his self esteem already. (His Mom noticed that-) I am so glad! Thanks again to everyone for all the love and good vibes! You'll be seeing alot of us at Sky Knights this summer! WooHoo! Easy Does It
  8. That's why you sneak into the office on a weekend and use the high-speed printer. downloaded and printed (both sides) the entire Competition manual in the time it took me to drink a cup of coffee. Hehehehe! Easy Does It
  9. Write "UNAIRWORTHY" with a big fat magic marker all over the top of the center cell near the label. That should get a little attention, too, along with the cut tapes and such! Easy Does It
  10. The weather channel is always wrong - Talk to manifest - THEY know! Easy Does It
  11. And I, for one will be there. With my NEW rig, and a new-to-me Spectre 170, and (weather permitting), will be making my get-back-in-the-saddle-after-the-tib/fib-fracture-jump. Probably just a hop-n-pop but just the same. It'll be a groovy day even if we don't jump. I have a good feeling this season at Sky Knights is going to be awesome! 28 degrees does not discourage me! If the plane flies, so do I! Heewack! Easy Does It
  12. That makes sense! - He would tilt his head all the time before the surgery - One of the first things he noticed himself was he was holing his head straight for a change. He's really going to enjoy this, I think! Easy Does It
  13. No offense taken at all! When he was a little tyke (like 6 yrs old-) he got whacked over one eye at daycare - Six stitches to close it up, and he didn't shed a tear as the doc injected the Novocaine and sewed it up. I have tendancy to get a bit light-headed around needles myself. Tough kid!! I be calling him tonight to see how school went today. I guess he's still seeing double a little bit. (Probably needs a new eyeglass presrcription.) His check-up is on Friday.
  14. 0:1482:0 No nookie - 1482 miles driven to Buffalo and back to be with my son for his eye surgery. One Tough Cookie he is! (see the thread about my son needing some good vibes - I've never messed with making things clicky-) Left Wednesday and came back yesterday. Ten hours straight through. I'm beat. No firsts, but I have discovered a DZ that just opend last summer about 20 minutes away from where the kids live! WooHoo!! Freefall Oz, in Ceres, PA, Yep - I'll be there in July!! Easy Does It
  15. Hi everyone! Promised to keep everyone updated, here goes!! My son Esau is TOUGH! If he was nervous before the operation, he sure handles it well for a 13 year old. He didn't freak out at all! I went out to Buffalo Wednesday to be with Esau for is operation - The operation took place Thursday evening. He was given a general and the major part of the surgery was done then. The next morning, the doctor did the final adjustment to the sutures in the muscles, to get the eyes lines up right. This was done while he was awake, with just some drops to numb things up. (Which don't work very well, according to Esau-). When he did start to feel some pain, he statement to the doc was "Uh, Doc, I'm really stating to freak out here - It hurts!" His Mom and I held his hand, and he squeezed, but he kept very cool. The young man is one tough cookie!! He slept most all day Friday while the last of the anesthesia wore off, and Saturday he and went and got haircuts, ate some lunch at Applebees and chilled out at the hotel I was staying at. Sunday morning we siad our good-byes and I headed back to Illinois, and was pretty drained by then. I also got to spend some time with my oldest daughter, Liz, and my grandsons. The boys are growing like little weeds - We got some smiles and pictures. Liz is sharing a cool little apartment with her boyfriend, and is doing good. Love her and miss her so much! Esau and his Mom Yvonne would like to extend thier thanks to everyone for all the good vibes and wishes, and I thank you all, too. This is a wonderful family to belong to!!
  16. Make a recording and slip a copy under thier door. They'll get the hint. Easy Does It
  17. I've heard of some folks taking a pressure washer to a fully dissassembled rig. I do mine by hand though, with a little bit of laundry soap and a six-pack of barley pop. Easy Does It
  18. Relaxing can be as simple as this - - Think Boobies. It's all good! Easy Does It
  19. I'm on a lunch break right now - (At 2 AM on a Monday morning-) I'm usually not here this time of day. It's nice - No brass here to hassle me. So I've got time to think. I've been pulling wrenches and chasing wires for what seems like forever. The pay here is decent. But I'm getting tired, and I don't get the joy out of work like I used to. By the end of the day my feet are killing me, and I'm beginning to feel it in my knees, wrists, hands, and so forth. Alot of days I'm so busy taking phone calls, talking to contractors, and all sorts of BS I feel like I'm just spinning my wheels - I don't feel like I've accomplished much of anything. (I'm a maintenance tech/supervisor with skills in electrical, mechanics, welding, pipfitting and all that fun stuff. I dig PLCs and AC and DC drives, too.) I've been here at this company for 7 years now. I'm fully vested. I think I want out. But what to do, and I prefer to relocate to the south - somewhere below the Mason-Dixon line. Any ideas?? 22. First I'd have to get my tandem rating - Then I'd have to persuade her to jump - See, I affectionately refer to her as not only a whuffo but a "ground-hugging" whuffo. In the nicest sense, of course. But if the first two criteria were met, then hell yes! Easy Does It
  23. Thanks for info - one of things I have a question about is his depth perception and flying as a commercial pilot - It's one of his ambitions, (but then again he's only 13-) He'll be coming out to live with us full-time this summer, and of course he'll be spending plenty of time ath the DZ hanging out with us jumpers and pilots- So ya never know! I'm just looking forwards to being a full-time Dad for him again!! Easy Does It
