t Another good feeling is that my payments will be over $300 less than what I was paying on the first house, and I'll be able to preserve a bit of the capital from the sale, to be used for improvement. And to spoil myself just a little, after all, I did just go through a divorce! Yes, it feels good! I'm doing OK! Easy Does It

The pic is a little old - I'll get some more inside -n- outside pics later - Got a bunch of plans for it (over the next 5 years-) to include: "Dumpsters' Semi-Extreme (sort-of) Home Makeover, Skydiver Edition" (not neccessarily in order-) Upgrade electrical to 200 amp service Update plumbing Update bath - (Floor needs work-) Update kitchen Install central air Fence New garage Motorcycle to park in the garage New front porch New Deck 4-6 person spa on the deck. Some one warm-n-cuddly to share the master bedroom with me - I'm really happy to be able to buy something like this 100% on my own though! Easy Does It

Closing on the 28th of the month. Modest little 2 bed 1 bath with a good sized yard and 2-car garage - Needs a little work but not that bad. 45 minutes from Sky Knights, 1-1/2 from CSC and 2 hours from SDC. Ten minutes from work. (Incidentally, the divorce is final on the 1st of May.) Easy Does It

Whoopeee... 4 day holiday.. what are you doing?
Dumpster replied to shropshire's topic in The Bonfire
Getting ready to move. The divorce will be final May 1st. My son and I are moving into a nice 2-bedroom apartment soon. But Saturday will be spent at the DZ, 'cuz we got a helicopter coming in for jumping, and I haven't done any serious jumping all winter. Lenny needs a little "me" time. Easy Does It -
In this thread: The most retarded statements you've ever heard.

I get to work with a bunch of very highly-educated people. I mean, guys with PhD's in thier field. I've some to realize that the more education you cram into a person's skull, the more common sense gets pushed out. One individual in our R&D department stands out in particular. He has a habit, when he asks a question and doesn't get the answer he likes, he'll re-phrase it and ask it again, thinking he'll get a different answer. One of the things I do is make modifications to machinery and build experimental stuff for the R&D folks. Great fun, but - - - "Lenny, How long will it take to complete this (insert project name here)?" "Two weeks." "Can you have it done in a week?" "No, too much stuff in the que ahead of it." (I don't re-arrange things on the schedule, unless it affects production.) "How about seven days, can it be done in seven days?" "No, I said two weeks, that's fourteen days." "You can't have it done sooner?" "We might get lucky and get it done a day or two ahead of time, but don't count on it." "Oh, so you can have it done in ten days then?" (Now I'm beginning to twitch.) "No, please read my lips - TWO WEEKS." This whole conversation wastes five minutes of my life, that I'll never get back. After a while, he'll come back to the shop and ask me again. Then I start adding a day for each time he asks me. Eventually he figures out he's not going to get the answer he wants. Until next project. Then it starts all over again. Easy Does It -

Dude - you got hosed - On my 40th I got $$ on my DZ account, then after a day of jumping, a surprise party, pig roast, keg 'o beer (NOT lite beer!!) not to mention many shots of much harder spirits, then the entertainment - A hot little stripper!!! After that, I quit having birthdays. Easy Does It

I'm 43 and getting divorced - (for the 2nd time-). First mariage lasted 12 years, the second lasted for nearly 7. Neither one was a nasty break-up, but the first one was definitely harder than the first. Will I remarry? Right now I just cannot picture myself in a LTR anytime in the forseeable future - Ask me in a year. I'll be spending the summer jumping as much as possible and deciding where I want to be in the next five years. But I do kinda feel like I'd be a good "catch" for the right woman. Questions is - if I'd ever meet that person!!?? I think I'll buy a house today. Houses are good. Easy Does It

Study: Americans Too Confident About Retirement Planning
Dumpster replied to jeiber's topic in The Bonfire
One of the technicians working for me lived near a "little America" area in Mexico. Lots of retirees living very well for cheap. He's the same age as I, we both talk about retiring there at the same time. I'm seriously going to take a trip down that way in a few years to scope things out. Easy Does It -

mmmm - Can't beleive it but it's sadly true. I've been a good boy, have put at least 5% of my gross into my 401(k) and my employer has been generous with thier profit sharing (at least 10% of my gross every year for the last 7 years-) which also goes into the same funds as my 401(k) is, and according to the last report from our retirement guru, I will be able to retire making more than I do before retirement. After the divorce is final I'll be increasing the amount I contribute and doing the Roth IRA thing. And I'll be retiring in Mexico. Anyone care to join me? Has it been easy? Not always, but after you get used to it you really don't notice the deductions coming out. (Discipline) And it feels really good when you see that balance getting bigger and bigger each quarter! (Invest agressively!) Easy Does It -
Yeah - I've done it before, I was off for three years. Had just one drag one night at the bar and whammo - Back up to a pack a day in about three weeks. The first two weeks is the bitch. Easy Does It

I figure: 1 carton/ week @ $35.00 carton (nominal) x 52 = $1820.00 / year, / 12 = $151.00 bucks a month = payment on a new (or used) motorcycle. Easy Does It

Oh yeah - He does - After living with his Mom for years (with little rules/structure) then coming to live with me (lots of rules, very little wiggle room) He's a bit rebellious at times too (natural) So I've had to pin his ears back once or twice. Yep - I know I can be stronger than those damn cigarettes! And I'm saving some tall cash, too! Easy Does It

Day Four - I almost caved in, and fired one up, but was able to stick it out. My son was really pissing me off last night (you know how a 14 year old boy can be-) but I was able to keep my act together. So far I don't need a place to bury any bodies - yet - Hopefully this will pass soon. I'm not alot of fun to be around right now! Easy Does It

Gave up the cancer sticks as of midnite Friday night. Good thing I had the house to myself all weekend. Monday now, and so far I'm kinda proud I haven't ripped anyones' head off and shit down thier neck. But gawd the urge to light up is strong. Two choices - Kill or Smoke. mmmm Where can I hide the body of a warehouse worker? Easy Does It

Throw a surprise party for him, complete with all the tacky stuff from the Hallmark store, and hire a stripper. That's what I got for my 40th. Best birthday party I've ever had. But after turning 40, I quit having birthdays. Easy Does It

PAC 750 returning to Sky Knights this weekend. (4/1)
Dumpster replied to Dumpster's topic in Events & Places to Jump
FYI everyone -The PAC 750 will be back and flying this weekend at Sky Knights up in East Troy, Wisconsin. Let's go have some fun! Easy Does It -
As soon as my house sells, I'll be debt-free aside from my truck payment. I'd pay that off with the proceeds from the sale of the house, but it's leased, and I want to put a big wad from my profit (after spoiling myself a little-) into a couple CDs for the short term. I'll stay pretty solvent for the forseeable future. Easy Does It

Have you ever hitchhiked or picked up a hitchhiker?
Dumpster replied to windcatcher's topic in The Bonfire
This buddy of mine and I were going to check out a car, and picked up a hitch hiker along the way. We made the guy sit in the back seat, with his backpack. He looked kinda weird (as hitch hikers often do - ) We started talking and he seemed pretty cool though, and he didn't stink like road kill, either - (as hitch hikers often do-) After a few minutes, I had to ask him what was in the backpack - He yells "NONE OF YOUR FUCKIN' BUSINESS!" I'm "Whoa Ok - Be cool dude!" - and we get back to shootin' the shit. After a while he's eying his backpack and shit - I'm getting a little nervous here now - So I apologized and asked him again what was in the bag - Again he yells - "NONE OF YOUR FUCKIN' BUSINESS!" I looked over at my buddy and we both knew what we had to do - I pulled over and my friend jumped out of the car, opened the back door, grabbed the guy by hair (he had really long hair, as hitch hikers often do - ) and threw him out of the car. We took off with the guys' backpack still in the car. Then we stopped to look in the back pack - - - -

In High School - Locker room - Unbeleivable turd. This one kid dropped a loaf that must have been three feet long - It all coiled up in the toilet - Like a snake decided to take a nap in there. It was an amazing sight. We tried charging people a quater to behold it. Some one speculated about the Guinness book. It wouldn't flush. So we kept laying turds on top of it. (there was only one shitter in the locker room - Small school) Had to be at least fifty pounds of crap lying in the bowl by that time. Eventually the janitorial equivalent to a HazMat team had to be called in. Then later on - at Air Force basic training - One kid was so uptight he didn't shit for a week. When he finally did he made history - A gigantic, nasty mess that can't even be described as a turd. It was some sort of huge toxic pile of sludge. I think some one took a picture. The T.I. was close to evacuating our dorm because of the stench. Fortuantely it did flush, unlike the stinking Anaconda of a turd in High School. Easy Does It
