Fort Lauderdale... your closest choices are Skydive America (Pahokee, with Scotty and Tami Carbone, great people!) and Skydive Miami. I think SDA has more of a night scene, they have a bar, grill, bunkhouse, etc. SDA (Otter) is about an hour and 15 mins from ft lauderdale, SD MIami (Caravan) is a bit further if i remember correctly. Sebastian is about 2 hours up 95. it's an easy drive. They have caravans/otters/skyvan depending on the weekend. As for a canopy control, Deland has an "official" canopy school. that's a good 4.5 hour drive up the coastline though from FL. it's up near daytona. I"m sure if you call sebastian, SDA, etc they may have coaches available, just not "official." have fun, it's BEAUTIFUL down here now!!!

one kind of humorous thing i've seen done is wher eyou give a bunch of guys at the reception keys and have them all return their keys to the bride's old apartment to her. it's done a lot though. emabarrassing photo slide shows are great too.

Slept in, drove up to Sebastian on Saturday afternoon, did a jump IN TEVAS AND SHORTS, got al ittle windy and was gettign late so called it a day, nice irish pub and lots of beverages sat night. Did I mention I ROCK at Golden Tee Golf?

The competition suit is pretty basic. It has everything you would need for a first suit in it, with lots of mods/extras available. It's a standard RW suit with outer leg grippers and upper arm grippers. You can add the inside leg grippers/booties if you want (for a charge) as well as making the grips fatter (recommended), adding cordura to increase durability... etc. I may be wrong, but I believe the Majik and FX suit are the same thing. This is the suit with the squared arm grippers with elastic insets (you can yank them pretty good and they won't come off!!!), and the booties that have a dual pleat on the front (cordura) to make a stronger rudder in the air. Grippers are also cordura on the Majik suit. I'm pretty sure all fabrics are available for each type of suit.

yeah, I work in healthcare in FL as well. actively with patients. I'm hoping my county is last to implement this... and that they run out before they get here. I don't want big icky spots!!!

It was beautiful here on the SE FL coast yesterday and today!!! Went up to sebastian yesterday, I was jumping in shorts and tevas, strong but steady winds. today was nice too, but i had to work this morning.

no way not this weekend. deland is 3.5-4 hours from me depending on 95 traffic. I have V day obligations on friday and then have to work on sunday. May hit Sebastian or Pahokee on Sat

My first team was a pick up team for fun. Eventually became four people interested in learning 4way basics, all of us had about 200 jumps at the time. Anything I've been involved with after that has been combinations of knowing people, networking, and just plain being in the right place at the right time.
