    depending on where you are in NYC, CK is 2.5 hours roughly. Depends on tunnels/traffic, etc. Once out of hte hoboken area it is a straight shot though.

    Hey DOA- If you are planning to buy gear and use it while at Sebastian double check. I'm not sure if the DZ has a gear store @ this time. If they don't, an option is to order from another US gear shop and have it delivered to sebastian while you are there, or to make a days trek up to deland or to lake wales for some purchases.

    we actually wash the cars with a pressure washer! That and some good old fashioned elbow grease. They make special windshield wiper fluid that is better for those bug smears on the windsheild, btu I've never tried it

    Definitely plan to be up as early as the DZ is open. Summer afternoons can get windy @ Sebastian as it's right on the coast. The seabreeze picks up throughout the day. It's a beautiful place to jump though! If I were you, I may reconsider camping in July in FL. If you want to jump hard and get through student stuff for two weeks you'll want good nights rest, and sleeping in 90 degree humidity is not totally condusive to that! Also with the regular afternoon storms, make sure your tent is a GOOD one if you plan to camp, as you don't want to sleep in a swamp.

    stop yer crying. The new # was on the DD list for a good 6 months before I asked to get taken off due to outrageous text message bills!!

    and on that note, the first storm of this year has been named. tropical Storm Adrian is out just west of Mexico and hopefully will not cross over into the gulf as predicted! Stay away! We have two weeks of good weather left!! no early birds!!!

    Now, if Kris was REALLY a nice guy, he would drive the uhaul for you to tampa bay, then make dinner for your helpers there. Seriously, s ince I've stopped jumping, Kris is the only person from my skydiving life that has remotely kept in touch. It's nice to be remembered. Thanks Kris!

    let me know what day you need help in largo/tampa. I can be there to help you out if it's not the weekend dad is visiting. I may be able to convince galen to help too. start looking for apartments ASAP. The rental market over here is NUTS, all the apartment complexes are converting to condos so is a scramble for rental properties!! Check the tampa tribune on line, sometimes you can find better deals through private renters. also check rent.net and apartments.com for some ideas, call and make appointments for the weekend.

    Scariest thing that's ever happened to me? Knowing my mother is a non-recovering alcoholic and not being able to help or remedy the situation. Not being able to help people around me scares the shit out of me.

    Check out Cross Keys. There's a nice 4way scene there usually, lots of experienced 4way-ites who may help you get networked. I know Carl & Cherie Schuch organize mixers/scrambles there every so often. Manifest could put you in contact with them, I htink the email I have may be outdated.
