http://www.akc.org/events/cgc/training_testing.cfm CGC is an obedience test that tests the linked items. It's often used as a first step towards being a therapy dog or in the line of obedience work.

Gizmo & Jazzy- our two babies. Giz is a pointer/lab/greyhound/border collie mix (mom got around) and Jazz is pointer-boxer-foxhound. Both are rescues. Gizmo had been at the humane society for almost a year when we brought her home last Sept. She was so afraid of everything she wouldn't let us even touch her. She's come a long way now and is starting to run flyball! SHe missed her canine good citizen by 1 test item. Jazzy was at the humane society for 2 years. very wary of strangers- it took a good 15-20 minutes for someone to earn enough trust for her to stop grumbling. I volunteer there and bonded with her while working her in obedience at the shelter. Brought her home last month and her and Gizmo are best buddies now- attached at the hip. Jazzy is starting flyball now too.

Cross Keys is closest to Philly, but again I don't think offers static line. -
I personally have lef tthe sport (whether temporary or not I dont know) due to not being as current as I'd like. The first few years I jumped I was ridiculously current. as in 200+ jumps/year, jumping 3+x/week. Life and money took over and it just wasn't feasible to do that anymore. Luckily I'm smart enough to know that, and realize the sport will always be there if my life permits it again. Skydiving is great fun, but not fun enough to make me be an unsafe statistic. It's important to note that not being safe in te sport effects more than just one person, but everyone around you on the ground and in the air.

Melissa was not supposed to go home last night! What a crock. Ace is strange. I'd never buy a CD full of that nasty falsetto singing. blech. And I leave the room when Kevin sings because it sounds like a broadway musical gone awry.

Volunteering is wonderful. I am a volunteer director with hospice in my area as my job, but also do 4-8 hours a week at the humane society in my town walking/working with the dogs and acting as an adoption person. Really rewarding and it wasn't hard to find the time!

Ugh. My office is shaped like a giant donut, so people are constantly walking around in circles to get places. How many times do I have to say hello to people a day? booo-ring. teehee
