They might not be cute, but they often have a better looking set of teeth compared to most brits. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

I did a trip like this in '95. Left San Diego in early August. San Diego, SF Bay Area, Crater Lake, Portland, Seattle, BC Canada, Glacier Nat'l Park, West Yellowstone, Casper WY, Devils Tower, Mount Rushmore, Breckenridge, Moab, Durango, Breckenridge, Omaha, Chicago, Saginaw MI, Niagra Falls, Emira NY, Gettysburg, Washington DC, down the east coast into Florida, Ft. Pierce, back to Pensecola, Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, Pima AZ and back to SD on xmas eave. Total of 13K miles. Spent about 2 months staying with family, the rest driving. I did it in a pickup with a camper shell. Only spent a total of 3 nights in a hotel. The rest were were staying with family or sleeping in the back of the truck. Had a blast. Totally agree about seeing the sights in South Dakota. The drive along 101 along the west coast is beautiful, but will add lots of time to the trip. I would love to make another trip like this. Do it. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

For those that are interested in trying the nylon crack this Sunday, I'll be bringing my Prodigy2 wing suits and offering the First Flight Course. Let's get our flock on. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity -

Hollister has a C206 and C182. Heard rumors of getting the KA back in the air this spring. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity -

What have you jumped in the past? Maybe something of the same make but larger. If you want soft openings in a 9 cell, Pilot, Safire2, Silhouette. In a 7 cell, Spectre or Storm. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

That IS weird. Me--creative, math-head. I'm the anomaly English/Math person. Not-so-much science-whiz, though I work hard to understand it. I SO agree about having the quintessential novel to "curl up with".

There should be a bunch of birds at Z-hills. I'll be going there to try an east coast xmas this year. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

You don't know how hard it is for me to do this, but I actually agree with you Glen. I think we have set a bench mark for ever improving flock formations to come. Hopefully in the near future. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Judging any flock will be a pain due to the dynamic nature of a 3D moving formation. I have my doubts that the grid is the best way to judge the formation, but one thing it did do. It made us concentrate on flying our best. I wonder if the formation would have looked as tight if we had used a purely subjective system. I agree with Iwan. It is another great step on pushing this discipline to receiving some formal acceptance. Kudos to all the birds who made this thing happen. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. Interesting, I worked for Steve about 11 years ago. He had a bit of an odd sense of humor. If there were any recent hires, he would offer kool-ade to drink during the weekly team meeting. Once we explained who Steve was, we waited to see how long it took for the new guy to realize what he was drinking. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Round trip ticket; skip first leg, lose return flight?
monkycndo replied to DJL's topic in The Bonfire
Depends on the airline. Southwest will allow you to use the return if you didn't use the first portion. Have done it several times. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity -

After 5 days of early calls and ending the day being tired from jumping, everyone was looking forward to not having to wake up so early. But for some reason I'm up ready for that early call. First off, I gained even more respect for Scott Bland's ability to fly a rock solid base. I was on Mark Harris' team of the "foreigners". We had 15 people......, and Matt Hoover. The three other teams were lead by their plane captain as base, but since Mark wasn't used to the "domestic" speed of flocking, I was asked to fly base for the team. I have flown base a few times before, but never with the goal of hitting the mid 60's range and having to guess the forward speed that Jeff would be flying. It took most of the jumps on Saturday and Sunday to get it figured out. The whole time, no matter if it was too fast, too slow, or going back & forth between the two, the team quickly built our designated formation. The level of ability/determination/concentration on the team was incredible. I was glad when all four teams came together on Monday so the only challenge was to lead the team through the other diving birds into our slot in the formation. After all the hard work, it was great to hear Taya say that we did it. We did have a few injuries. Scott's arm from a collision, Brian's finger from his flesh eating razer, Patrick took a shot to the eye on exit and Bo's melted canopy from a still hot smoke canister. Props to all the organizers for all the hard work. To DSE for not only being in every jump, but doing all of the video stuff for our debriefs as well. To Stoney for his generosity and Avery for keeping us nourished. Seeing the photos of the built formation is a sight to behold. Never did find out from Jim the pilot if the formation was detected on radar. And if you haven't jumped at 'Snore and had Jim orbit the formation in the otter, you are missing quite the experience. He is thinking of getting re-current just so he can join the flock flying outside the plane. It was great meeting and flying with all the birds from around the planet. Rick, we missed you in the flock. Maybe I can get back to sleep now. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Well crap, my ride to 'Snore from the airport on Friday night can't make it. Is there anyone flying into ONT on Friday night around 7:20 PM (1920 for those that don't do American time) that have some room in their car for a stow away. I'll buy the beer for the drive there. Drop me a PM if ya got some room. Thanks.

Been following this thread and finally decided to post. It just so happens today is my 4th sky birthday. I was a bit of a workaholic & didn't travel much and squirreled my money away for retirement. Did a tandem back in '01, but that was just a carnival ride. On 5 Nov '04, I did my Cat A from a C206 in Hollister with Raff on main and AdamT on reserve. I paid for the entire AFF program before my FJC expecting that I would like the experience(also because I got 10 free jump tickets, I said I was cheap). Upon landing, I knew I was hooked. Since then, I have made 823 more jumps, been to 17 DZs, jumped from planes, balloons & helicopters, became a coach and WS instructor, met many many wonderful people, lost some of those same friends, now work so I can travel(to boogies of course), have a much smaller savings account and last but not least, attained #1 stalker status. And wouldn't change a thing. Except maybe to have started sooner. And to have landed better that one time in Eloy. Never knew I could get cankles from skydiving. To all of those I have met, thanks for the fun. To all I have sparred with here on dizzy.com. Thanks as well. (even you Squeak) Looking forward to what is around the corner.
