Full face helmets are harder to fit than an open face because of the chin being confined by the helmet. I had a tough time due to having a pointy chin and a big melon. I found the Mamba a better fit than most because there isn't as much to that helmet that goes under the chin. That way there is room for my chin to drop below the front of the helmet. I know several people that have the same issue as you as they have a long melon. They jump a Mamba and there chin is below the chin cup. But nothing else would fit. The only other full faces that are usable by the Freakishly Large Head Club would be the Cookie G2/G3 or the Paratech FreeZr 2. No other full faces even came close to fitting me. 50 donations so far. I know a lot of folks took off the 2 weeks around xmas and new years. Creates a big backlog of email/orders. Not an excuse, just an observation. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Jeff, not in the loop on demos/production. From the website says limited release on early orders. Hopefully one will show up at either/both events. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

ScottyBob had one at the Eloy Holiday Boogie. I was impressed. The suit looks very well made. From the one video I watched of him flying it with other suits, it will be a suit to be reckoned with. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

A question, what would one use to confirm the accuracy of the readings of the N3 in helmet versus wrist? Unless one is swooping and relying on the device for IP, being off a tiny bit logging each jump really isn't that critical. I have a Protrack in my helmet, Neptune on my wrist and Altitrack on my mudflap. They never agree exactly on altitude or logged deployment heights. Different manufactures use a different method to determine actual deployment. One will log when the canopy starts to inflate another when you saddle out. YMMV 50 donations so far. Give it a try. Not sure if I have what you all have, but this thing is kicking my ass. Was feeling a bit better and started to work on a project. Didn't take long and I was wiped out. And what used to be just a runny nose and scratchy throat is now gone to full on chest congestion and a cough. I'm used to how my body reacts to flu season, but this one is moving so much faster and is out right nasty. Not a whiskey drinker, but considering starting. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. I agree that a cut away system for the mount could be a good idea. But one issue that would have to be dealt with is that if there is an entangelment, there will be lines wrapped around the camera/mount itself. Would the cutaway still be easily accessible in that case? I don't like the idea of having to reach into a bunch of lines with the possibility that I could now have lines wrapped around my hand. During winter months, I would love to wear a full face with a camera during wingsuit FFCs, but won't do so because of a lack of a cut away system. I have been playing around with a bunch of ideas for my BoneHead Mamba and think I have one that will work. Unfortunately, the tightening system on the G3 is different and not easily retrofitted. I am still working on it from a different angle and might have something. But unless I am very confident it can be as idiot proof as possible to install/use, I won't release it. 50 donations so far. Practice highspeed malfuction procedures
monkycndo replied to NvyZero's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Your handles will most likely not be in the exact same position in freefall or under canopy as they are while standing on the ground. Your harness can/will shift around. One method that always works is to start with your hand at your three ring or chest strap. Slide your hand down following the harness. You will find your handle quickly even if the harness is shifted far off to one side or is blocked from your view. I teach this method as part of my wingsuit FFC. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. Emergency Procedures - Side by Side

Chuck, there was a seminar at PIA 2011 that discussed two outs. It had a great and simple way to remember what you described. In times of stress, I like to follow KISS. If you have determined canopies are not entangled and after RSL is disconnected: LEFT on LEFT on LEFT Left hand on left rear riser of left canopy. Right hand on cut away handle. Pull on rear riser until canopies are completely separated. As you cut away the main, release rear riser with left hand. If the left canopy is the main, that riser will soon be pulled away from you. I learned a lot at that presentation that I hopefully will not need to put into practice. And as always, best to think about it on the ground before having to practice it in the air. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity -
More a reference to all the things that one should think about before sticking a camera on their helmet. Such things as a cut away system (unavailable on G3s), number of suggested jumps prior to jumping a camera and all those pesky things that can go wrong when distracted by having a camera on one's helmet. In informed decision can prevent mistakes from being made. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Looks like the cold/flu season is taking off with a vengeance this new year. I have fallen victim myself. So, when you are feeling under he weather, what is your comfort food of choice that makes you feel better? I am partial to tomato soup with lots of hot sauce and saltine crackers crumbled over the top. Yummy. You? 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Your problem is you have too many jumps to operate a GoPro. You need to have less then 50 jumps to fully understand how easy they are to use, just turn it on and forget it. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Nat, being unpredictable can screw with experienced players because you don't follow the norm. My first time ever at a table was at LP this year. We had 14 players at 2 tables and I ended up winning. Whether it be luck or understanding the game, you ended up with the chips. Enjoy the cash and don't let them get to you. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. Brian, that works as well. I prefer my concept as both ends are attached to a leg strap and can't go anywhere. When the slink is taken off, it can get lost. And a closing loop is easier to come by compared to a slink. I'm all about being thrifty. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Sheesh Vader, you get back in your own neck of the woods and you start getting all antsy to skydive. OK, took some quick shots of the bungee and closing loop combo for a quick disconnect for legs straps. Both of my rigs are elsewhere, so you will have to use your imagination of the loose end tied to your leg strap. Untie one side of your bungee. Tie a good size knot on the free end of the bungee. Tie it loose for now. You might want to adjust the length of the bungee once you finish the rest of the steps. Tie the closing loop to your leg strap with about 2"/50mm of free loop. The eye of the loop should be about 3/4"/20mm. Fold the open eye back over the shaft of the closing loop creating a new loop. Insert bungee knot into the eye of the loop. Tighten the the eye against the bungee. To remove, just loosen the grip of the closing loop against the bungee and pull the knot through. I like this method as there is no hardware that could come undone or break. And there is nothing that could poke you or damage the padded seats of the plane as you slide towards the door. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

An Alternative to Commercial Skydiving Helmets
monkycndo replied to DFF's topic in Safety and Training
Phishy, don't you go and end this pissing match. This here is entertaining. The idea of a form fitting helmet that can provide actual protection, looks sexy and you can bolt a camera to would be a nice thing, especially if it were cheap. I say, build it and buyers will ask for it in custom colors because everything has to be matchy matchy. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity -

Measurement of bridle is pin to PC. For that small of a canopy, I would suggest the 28" PC. It is not hard to have the bridle extended. Any decent rigger can do it. I had one done to a newish PC and it cost me only $30. Much cheaper than a whole new PC. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

PC size is more related to the size of your canopy. I jump 135 and 150 SF canopies. My PC is a 28" ZP. If the PC is F111, upsize about 4-6 inches. YMMV Take a look at Chuting Star for your PC. They have some of the best prices around. http://www.chutingstar.com/skydive/collapsible-main-pilot-chute 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
