Depending on my job at any given time, my work stress level would be anywhere from zero to topping the scale. And all of it caused by other people's problems. To separate it out of my home life, I would do the crossword puzzle on the train ride to/from work. On the way home, it would force me to stop thinking about work issues and by the tiime I got home, I was in home mode. Doing the puzzle on the way to work would keep me from focusing on work stuff until I stepped off the train. But, the simple problen solving of the puzzle put me into the right frame of mind to be solving the issues at work. Which once solved, lowered my stress level. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. So you are more interested in a gear company that has a slick website versus one that might look outdated, but offers better prices??? I'm not saying they are mutually exclusive, but having a cool webdesigner doesn't mean the store is a good store. I have dealt with both Paragear and ChutingStar and you will get good info from both sites. And don't forget the classified and reviews sections here. You can get first hand user reviews and good used gear. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

A good way to start calibrating your MK1 altimeter (your eyes) is to play "guess your altitude". Whenever you have a good view of the ground during the climb to altitude, look outside and guess your altidude. Then check what your alti reads. You will start to dial in your internal altimeter. If you always jump at one DZ, how big does the hanger look at various altitudes. How long is the runway? Also learn relative sizes of objects that are the same everywhere. The size of a car or lorry, the width of a 2 or 4 lane road, etc. This will be helpful when you travel and don't know the size of the local hanger, but these other clues haven't changed. And as the old saying goes, when people look like ants, PULL. And when ants look the size of people, pray. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

But how else do you get your jumps paid for unless you stick a camera on your helmet? Can't get AFF or TI rating at current jump numbers. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Ah, the most important question of all time that has never been asked on this website. I wonder why it has taken so long for someone to finally think of it. What is the most bestest awesomest coolest non regulated DZ in the whole world?????? Can't think of a single one. Question must be too hard. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. Per the BH website, the Illusion has a 4"x6" mounting surface on top. Depending on the cameras the OP intends to use, that might be enough real estate. More mounting area can be created by adding an L top plate that bolts to the top and side mounting surfaces. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

The illusion works fine. I didn't like the fit of the chin since it is hinged on one side and that pushed my chin sideways. I have a pointy chin. Secondly, posting the same question in multiply forums is cross posting and is frowned upon. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Shhhhhh, no yelling needed. (Turn your caps lock off) And if you use that helpful search function, look for info on the Galaxy altimeter. Been discussed many times before. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity -

I'm a California boy through and through. I'd suggest San Diego or the SF Bay Area. Plenty of DZs in those spots, great cycling and lots of outdoor activities. And decent variation in the climate depending where you live in the areas. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

Yeh. I was taught that if it's unavoidable get big (spread arms n legs).] Jeff, the new thought on an unavoidable collision is to NOT spread arms/legs but to keep tight because with the new razor thin lines being used on many canopies now, going through those lines with arms extended might cause sever lacerations, or worse. 50 donations so far. I have also started using this method on my Infinity, and like the openings. One issue is when folks give you a pin check and they give you the WTF look. Depending on the orientation of the kill line window, it might make confirming the pilot chute is cocked at little more difficult. If you use method that Brian Germain suggests on folding the PC, there is no way you can fold the PC if it is not cocked. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. Yes, Ray builds a good product at a reasonable price. But is it the "BEST"? Sorry, just one of my pet peeves that there is no BEST gear in skydiving, just lots of options depending on what you want. Now if we are talking about heart surgeons, that's a different story. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

low jump numbers, camera and low exits
monkycndo replied to cavscout73's topic in Safety and Training
So john, I assume you are still going against common wisdom and jumping that Stiletto with your wingsuit? Because when you have the skills, any canopy is OK. And when in the pattern, you don't concern yourself with other canopy pilots or what wing/WL they are flying at their experience level? Your sigline might indicate otherwise. 50 donations so far. Skydiving age/weight restrictions
monkycndo replied to Snoa's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Judging obesity by using the BMI is like judging how well a car runs by its paint job. The only way I will return to the "healthy" catagory is to not only lose fat, but muscle as well. The BMI might be an OK tool to start the conversation about health, but it has limited value as to determine if one is healthy, overweight or obese. To the OP, if you really want to skydive, be prepared to make some changes. You might need to shed whatever fat you might be carrying to get to a weight that the DZ will feel comfortable taking you up. You will end up at the DZ on most weekends so get ready to replace your current friends with a bunch of skydiving nutcases, present company included. And any money you have will soon be given to the dropzone. This sport ain't cheap. And I wouldn't trade any of those changes I have made. If you really want it, you will find a healthy way to feed the need for altitude. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
