  3. That's a pretty big sport parachute you got on. Never before seen an AAD mounted externally between you and the rig either. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  4. Sensory overload is common. That is why some DZs require an AFF student to have completed one tandem prior to starting the program. So the student has an idea of what to expect in the air. And I hate to tell you, but you are not the first to cut away a good main. I personally know of someone who on their first solo off of AFF cut away a good main and now has over 500 jumps. Just because you did, doesn't mean that you should take up golf instead. The fact you are asking questions about how to improve means you are on the right track. Learn from the experience. It will make you a better skydiver. Here's a funny story told to me by my FJC instructor after I received my A. He does a Cat 1 jump and sees what he believes to be a good main over the student's head. Student cuts away. During bebrief, asks the student about the mal. Student explains that upon deploying, he sees the slider coming coming down at him. He got scared. Thinks that there is something wrong with the canopy. Cuts it away. At this point, I didn't see the humor. So my instructor spells it out. Just how do you think the student reacted when the reserve opened and the slider comes down at him again? Story 2. A student uses a certain rig for a few jumps. Gets used to it. Down sizes and uses a different rig. Jump goes well and deploys a good main. Student cuts it away because the slider was a different color. Learning about your gear will help you become more comfortable and be able to identify a good main from one that might/does need to be cut away. 5. Here's the rule of thumb I was told. If the canopy is still being made, take the cost of the canopy new. Subtract a $100 for driving it off the lot. Subtract $1 per jump. How are the lines? If they are realtively new, might be worth more. Need a line set? Worth less. The RoT isn't perfect, but it gives you a place to start. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. 7. I broke my fib just above the ankle and the recovery time weakened the ankle soft tissue. My ortho suggested this ASO brace to give some support. I have a friend that uses this one. Your Ortho would be your best source of info since s/he knows your condition. Don't push too fast. Take time to heal. The sky will still be there. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. 10. If the featherbutt freeflyer knew how to fly on his belly, he wouldn't have gone low on a base made up with a couple falling safes. Actually, Fozz has gained mad skillz at being floaty from all the fantabulous coaching he has received. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  11. I think you are confused. This drinking club has a skydiving problem. And the true cost of your A license is half your income for the rest of your jumping career. Best money I've ever spent. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

  15. Yes, I rolled my Phantom. Not very well, and not often, but I did. I'll backfly the Ghost after I get a little better w/o the suit. I like to see where I'm going. Maybe you can give me some lessons. Oh, that's right. What do you know? You aren't an instructor. *puts pointy stick back in its scabbard and waits for the fireworks to begin* 50 donations so far. 23. I've done a couple Birdeos. One went real smooth, one less so because the rider wasn't strong enough to pull herself up without distorting my leg wing. If you are short a horsy, I'll give it another go. boy 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

  25. Scott, I have only made a few solo jumps to try out the upper range of the suit. I have about the same numbers as you, upper 40s to low 50s. It does fly quite different to the Phantom. Having to adjust my flying. But the range in the suit is fantastic. Floaty and slow or kicking it into high gear. When you hit the sweetspot, the glide is awesome. Looking forward to lots more jumps to start to dial it in. Had a blast this weekend flying with some brand new baby birds. Ask Dave C and Kev about their flights. Be careful flocking with Kev, he likes to go sightseeing. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
