There is enough of this in real life and skydiving is my happy place. I try to avoid those threads here. I much prefer reading opinions, thoughts and views on Skydiving in my skydiving forum. I like to learn and have fun here on the cyber DZ and at the real DZ. We all have our values and beliefs and I doubt anyone would change their religion, political party etc based on something they read here, posted by a stranger who skydives. Besides, there are only so many hours of daylight to jump on the DZ. I've never had some one try to convert me in between loads. Fly Your Slot !

Skycat stole my thunder, we learned at the same DZ. We used digital, and the thought was, when the instructor says 5.5 and writes 5.5 your eye will see 5.5 on the readout. Also, it seems like the actual number would stick in your head like a picture more so than the analog for students. For things like "At what altitude did you do your second circle of awareness?" Have an exact number like 9.4 would be a better answer than "around 9" for the jumpmaster. I jump a analog. Fly Your Slot !

18,500 for me True story: Friend was flashing the pilot while he was getting told to decend to 10,000 ft by tower. He made it up to her on the next load, but she has never flashed again. She still catches hell for flashing and loosing us altitude. Fly Your Slot !

Ok, look... Im not a really big fan of night jumps, I've done my two for licensing. But Im willing to maybe give it another try in the event that some jumpers need the jumps, but we don't have enough people to make the Otter fly. If one person would make the difference, let me know. Please... Party, Festival, Gathering....anything but the "B" word! I love CASA's. Last CASA jump, Balunar Liftoff at NASA. We were going to jump one at the Aggies Memorial Boogie, but we were grounded during Restricted Airspace. We got to look at it though.. Can't Wait Fly Your Slot !

I don't think you made a mistake. Im suspecting that my XS NOS rig (the risers sit close to my head) , combined with the Z1 (which has a slight "lip") any opening involving narrowing the risers even more, like low line twists or riser twists creates a surface for the risers to grab on to and corkscrew the helmet off when the lines stretch. It's just a lousy combination in my case. Fly Your Slot !

Your right and I totally deserved that! Im not Z1 bashing, don't get me wrong. That helmet has protected my head more than it has hurt me. And yet, it's like an old cat that always seems to find it's way home, no matter how bad you want it gone. I'm not looking for sympathy I'm more looking for feedback and solutions. Blue Skies! I was thinking Risers too... What if...I took out the elastic and replaced it with good cord..then there would be no "give" when the risers slapped it, but do you think that would hurt my neck? Part of me says better to loose the helmet than to have my neck whacked. Fly Your Slot !

2/12/02 Make that 4 times. Really bad opening, corkscrewed off my head and lost my protrack this time. Found the Z1 though, broken visor. I guess Im going to ...replace the elastic with cord? Get an A3? Fly Your Slot !

Ask the Agent... Most Life Insurance policies already have exclusions for scuba, skin or skydiving (unless the activity is disclosed and they charge the proper "rating" for the risk). The exception would be group or "blanket" coverage provided by your employer. Health Insurance coverage is not standardized in the US, so each policy is free to set their own limitations and exclusions. The discussion regarding standardizing the coverage contained wording that you spoke of. Since 9-11, other issues have come to the floor of the House and debate on this legislation has been overshadowed. Fly Your Slot !

I jumped in Pop's vs Pups in 1999 at Wharton. I met a lot of really cool people and learned a lot about RW. Be sure to keep us posted. I really enjoy jumping with the Aggie Skydiving Club. It's a great organization and I love supporting them any way I can. Fly Your Slot !
