Nice to meet you all...(Newbie Gear Question)
dan_iv replied to skyyd1ve's topic in Gear and Rigging
Not quite. I would say before that is done that she needs to sit down and chat with her instructors and the S&TA at her DZ to determin the steps that she needs to take to gain the ability to jump a 135. ok you proved me wrong Dave... talking to your instructors and S&TA is always probably the *best* advice to follow.... -
yep, but has anyone done it while on a conference call?

Nice to meet you all...(Newbie Gear Question)

first, if you weigh 115 and your going to jump a 135 your WL will be around 1.0:1. Second i'm sure everyone here will tell you to step down, atleast put a few on a 190 170 150 before you loose 65sqft of material... -
why not just ask your local DZ if then can provid you with last years numbers? I.E. totall # tandems last year, total # lift tickets, video, etc... then you will atleast have a "decent" set of data to play with, (assuming the DZO will give you that info in the first place)....

Shiner Bock! Ask anyone that has had it...ask anyone that I've given a Shiner Bock to when I've been at a boogie out of state. I agree with Dave, shiner rocks, but i'm sure each regional DZ probably has there own regional somewhat microbrew.... so mabye you should find out what the fav beer is at DZComic....

you have been patient enough with there stupidity. besides a new charge could end up showing on your account in a day or two... i wouldn't worry about it.
-
that is funny, my lab is too lazy to run anywhere, however the little chihuahua runs around like she's on crack every day I get home to let them out... the thing that gets me most about my lab is that I had put a child lock on the cabinet door where the garbage is and he figured out how to open it anyway... dumb (smart) dog....

round steak? is that the same as flank? nope, round and flank are totallly different cuts. round is much leaner then flank, but flank is the "preferred" cut for making jerky. I have made jerky w/ flank steak after I've marinated / seasoned over night and It's ALWAYS come out better then any store bought jerky and I"m no expert either....

have you tried a search? yet?

I have a 6 year old lab that eats everything and anything it can get ahold of. Here are just a few examples. 1. raw chicken waiting to be cooked (damn dog) 2. a whole cantalope, (spit seeds out all over the floor but ate everything else???? how he did that I'll never know) 3. a miller lite bottle cap, (this one costed us 1,000) in vet surgery fees.... why he ate that i'll never know either???

First, thanks for everyones replies and votes! Ok, i totally know what you mean about searches as you really limit the number of ads that you see due to the variations of classified postings and I have been browsing for a while. my problem mainly is that usually 1 out of every 5 people I contact about a rig or main or whatever has already sold the damn merchandise... I totally agree with you about making it clear that you are WANTING something cause that pisses me off too.... I'll probably just put a "WANTED" ad up in the next week or two to see what kind of results I get. Thanks again everyone!!
-
OK, i'm searching for my first rig, i've noticed the folks that put WANTED notices in the classified and am curious how well it works? anybody post a wanted and get responses? explain your experiences or opinions. Thanks! EDIT: ok I got a yes vote but no info from the voter... ? if you could give me a couple comments, like how long it took you to get a response, etc...

I have no idea what the "mantins Position is that question is probably better suited for someone with more knowledge then me.... Skylord: I'll try to remember to keep my pinky out next time! thanks for everyones comments about my jump!!!!!
-
my opening alt was at 4500 for my 6th jump, as far as the video guy goes he was *practicing* that's why I got it for free. at the point where he bugged out he was playing around. thanks for everyones comments!
-
Byonce, I'm sooo dissapointed in myself
-
where can you get them?
-
thanks for the compliment! I thought about not posting it cause the backsliding all over the place is kinda embarrassing, then I thought what the heck someone will get a kick out of it....
-
ok, i thought I would put a link up to my 6th jump AFF-L6 for your amusement, it is here you'll notice an accidental *extra backloop* and some poor leg position after the backloops, which for the life of me I couldn't understand why I was loosing my heading at the time. I learned alot from watching this myself and have so far fixed that problem. I had a lot of fun with this jump never the less and got the video for free, it is a little choppy but you should still get a good laugh at it....
-
Hey steve, I missed this request, i'll see if I can look into that for you if you still want me to, i'll only charge you $150.00 per hour (kidding) just let me know... Dan

just put him on a couch when you pencil him in a cartoon
-
ok, i'm bumping this up, to ad a question, if you feel like giving it a few weeks won't stretch it out enough to stop giving you "chinese eyes", how could I order a different set of liners? I don't see them available seperately?
-
you'll get no argument from me there.... I don't know excel macros, but this could be easily accomplished with perl. essentially you want it to search a row for X, if X is found in column B, then "copy" X to column A? so you will have the same value in COL A and B is that right?
-
just curious, what are you attempting to do with the excell macros? there is more then one way to skin a cat....
-
ah... they do go along w/ sex, and the others I listed, if both parties are doing there part Are you picking your nose in your avatar? No, but it sure does look like it doesn't it
