Dang.... I'm with Stacy - Oct 4-5th I'll be at Chicks Rock - and the following weekend I'll be pedaling my butt off either Sat or Sun. But - I'm sure there will be plenty of weekends for us to go play, after all, the season is just getting started down here!! Andrea - I love your new avtar, very cool Bloooos! kolla Blue Skies Magazine

Ahh.... I'm too much of a sissy for real birdman suit just yet - I'm starting small and getting pantz though - you'll just have to work with that Blue Skies Magazine

It can be done - many riggers out there do an excellent job of it. However - be careful that adding the drawstring channels doesn't cause shrinkage - as that may affect the openings. The price of a new collapsible slider from PD is $89.00 (if you get a new slider, make sure it meets the specs for your canopy, sliders aren't quite "one size fits all"). Check on the possibility of buying individual lines, to replace the offending ones (from the manufacturer - to make sure they are to spec). That might help you with your openings, or at least help float you over until it's time to reline the whole thing

LOL.... I wish - but I think that the special little parachute you are looking for won't be ready to pack up for this trip Soon though... so hang in there! Kollz Blue Skies Magazine

My PD canopy demo program experience

You guyz & gals are simply too sweet I'll be the first to admit that from time to time I blunder horribly, but we do try to keep that to a minimum (this summer has been rough!). However, my job is pretty fun - I get to help skydivers out to pick their toys all day long, and almost every last one of my demo customers has been a pleasure to work with Thanks again for your kindness - what goes around, comes around, so thats a constant reminder for me to strive to do a good job! Hey Lazyfrog! The canopy is still in beta testing, and we plan on releasing it when it's ready I don't have a date for you yet, but our first priority is to make sure that the canopy is fully tested & ready to go before we release it. So far things are looking very good - I have been lucky enough to put a couple of jumps on it - and that only got my hungry for more! I won't launch into comparisons here, but when we release the canopy we will for sure have some comparisons written up (that compare it to other PD canopies) to help you place it. However, no words on paper can ever come instead of actually trying the canopy - the things you feel under canopy are so very subjective. I know there are some other dz.commers itching to try the Katana, and once they have done that I am pretty sure that we will see reviews on the gear pages - right AggieDave ?? Blue ones! Thats a smart plan - according to your profile I'd agree with waiting until you have a bit more experience before moving on to the high performance stuff. Once the canopy gets closer to be ready we will for sure put out more information - and I'm sure you'll see reviews pop up here on dropzone.com

AggieDave is right as ususal - there is a sign up sheet on the website

Hey - the sizing stuff is indeed a bit off headache. I did ask John LeBlanc (of Performance Designs) about this, and he did his best to explain to me how it works and how different manufacturers go about sizing. After about 30 minutes I understood really well that sizing is no simple task - and since there are a few different ways of making a canopy, there is no one method that will work across the board to size them up. It was a little bit less tangled back in the days of rectangular canopies - but the tapered/elliptical ones make for a challenge. PIA attempted to come up with a method that could work for all, but it has it's downfalls - bot when comparing between manufacturers, and even comparing different sizes from the same manufacturer. Again - I'm sorry for being so vague here, but this stuff is really outside my expertise and I'd rather not put wrong info out here. The best way to compare different canopies is to try them out... I know thats no the easiest thing to do, but then again different designs fly different - and that is not just because of the size. Fly before you buy - that way you'll know exactly what you are getting. Blue ones, Kolla Kolbeinsdottir, Performance Designs, Inc. Blue Skies Magazine

I like you just the way you are - but if you don't jump with me soon heads might start rolling.... Blue Skies Magazine

To be on the safe side, get a good gear check from someone trustworthy before you go jump - enjoy the demo

Mine too!! Kisi ran off for a few days, and came home with a broken femur It's setting nicely though the vet said, we are to bring him back after 6 weeks or so for another check. The vet (also a jumper!) says cats have amazing abilites to heal, so we'll see how this goes. - vibes to Shadow from me and Kisi

If you send the canopy to PD, the cost for the new lines (installed) is $185.00 (assuming you have microlines on your canopy). Then the inspection fee is $15, so the total will be $200.00. PM me if you need more info! Blue ones, Kolla Kolbeinsdottir Performance Designs, Inc. Blue Skies Magazine

This weekend I'll go and buy you some of that fabulous anti-itch homeopathic stuff I use. It's better than anything else I've ever tried, and I break out in big welts at just the sight of mozzies in the area. Unfortunately it won't do much for this round, but might be helpful next time they get you. And you'll probably need some for nationals in Lake Wales.... Kolla Blue Skies Magazine

Ahhh indeed, it's that time again! We will meet up and toast the new air-fresheners Blue Skies Magazine

Hmmm, I'd also like to see the study on that (where a zero porosity fabric) ceases to be zero porosity after approx. 50 jumps. I was under the impression that it stayed ZP for quite a bit longer than that. How much does it degrade? And if it's already degraded after 50 jumps, how does that fabric hold up after 100 jumps, 500 jumps etc? Thanks! Kolla Blue Skies Magazine

Well since you ask... I caught a whiff of one of them this past weekend, and got another sniff of it at lunch today. My nose was very pleased, and can't wait to get another chance to go out and play! The one I saw was equipped with multiple hangstrings, distributed evenly throughout the bottom surface of the freshener. You may have noticed that some of the other air fresheners ship with extra outlets - the new PD ones will have 9 (yes, NINE) outlets/inlets on the front end, obviously a very advanced air freshener. Aahhh... this is fun - be patient, in my opinion this one will be worth the wait!
-
Mmm.... in a way, I guess you can say that PD canopies ARE air fresheners! I'm at least always very refreshed after I have aired out my PD canopies Thanks Ryan - keep on coming up with good slogans Blue ones! Kolla edit: I can't spell Blue Skies Magazine
