  1. Dont forget- MSNBC has never clipped statements to make their point stronger. It's like saying "I think you're really ugly, but you have great ass" and leaving off the great ass part. doesn't really make me feel a whole lot better either way. So there I was... Shelley Berkeley, D. out of Nevada: "...no casino on the planet behaves as irresponsibly and recklessly as Wall Street does." She forgot to add- "except when i make money, then they're ok." Personally- she shouldnt make outrageous accusations, shorting stock is completely legal, profits are not a bad thing. Accept it, shut your pie hole, and move on to real issues. So there I was... 4. step through I landed @ 2:08 on this video. didn't film landing though, but you can see the fun opening and watch me slowly figure out what was wrong. bunch of line twists in the beginning of the vid too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZTnesTZepo So there I was... 5. Cut it away! wait... Soooo I just edited this together from my one and only so far. i had a really tiny line over, I didnt realize it til reviewing the vid. I chopped fast cuz i didn't know what was wrong, hanging on the right riser didnt work, i was getting low, i was far away, and over grape vines. The jump prior i had chased my lil sis on a tandem with my fam on site. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buGmrMaH2V4 So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983
  6. Never served, but I was just visiting some friends and friends of friends in Arlington, VA 2 weeks ago... There are all kinds of stories to justify the actions taken in that video, many of which can't be told from the first person perspective. I saw a guy drop to a knee using a building for cover with a long tube aimed at a gunship, then get on a radio. I did not see any children, even in zoomed and edited video. It's a war zone, tap tap. Overall the whole situation sucks. -Brett So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983
  7. John tried to put the exact same words in my mouth, you two bros? I support business, and people who run ethical businesses. I've never taken a stance one way or another on skyride, just ASC. skyride doesnt affect me, I have no experience with em personally. If they are so bad it'll probably bite em. ASC does matter to me, which as long as I've been jumping (not too long), is a damn good place. I never witnessed any stolen money there, which I cant say for other DZs I've visited. But I don't go online trash talked DZs I don't agree with, cuz it is kind of a small community, and ultimately the survival of our DZs is for the greater good. I just won't jump there. I'm a registered independent, Voted for O in the primaries. Things can change, just like he says! If taxing is stealing (which I'm guilty of calling it in heated debates) we're all supporters of evil. Edit: k, i'm done with thread drift now :-) So there I was... 9. Incorrect. I support ASC. I saved a shit ton of money by jumping there and going through most of my AFF there. If you factor in the free housing, beer, food, and coaching i received over the years we're talking thousands. I believe this thread is about the status of the economy, not my DZ preference and the justifications behind it. So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983
  10. Hey at least he saw business! Unlike the great community organizer. Neither of em would know the proper way to handle a business as they are too extreme politically in either direction. ultimately, I vote for who has real experience and who doesn't steal from my pocket. 11. In my opinion, your opinion sucks. Capitalism: an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition So there I was... 13. nothing but sophomoric fun. I'm content claiming to have more than one 'bart simpson' for a friend. $10 says skyride and cary had nothing to do with that, just a (dumb) drunk prank that had larger effects than expected/anticipated. BTW, how the heck do you (or they) not notice for a week? lol. ...not that it was the right thing to do... btw, pops- i'm sure you had a few colorful moments in your younger years. You just didn't have a flock of chicken littles following your every move. Some of the stuff that gets brought up in these threads cracks me up. Not to justify most of the antics, but it reminds me of the angry mobs in southpark running around "RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!" I get that you're going after the character of people you don't like, but with 90% of this sh*t- may he... cast the first stone, ya know? I bet if you were more focused with your dirt you could actually get something to stick. edit: btw, i think you meant a small ding in my "we're good guys" defense armor or some such thing? Not sure how to ding my position. So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983
  14. No, I've addressed my opinion on that unrelated matter in another thread. However the fact remains, proprietary trading has absolutely nothing to do with the financial crisis, so he is f*cking with it likely cuz he has it out for banks and big business... and small business evidently. I'm starting to think he enjoys watching banks and businesses fail so he can appear to be "right." he must be right on all these matters yeah? A few years as a community organizer certainly qualifies him to tell banks and CEOs how to operate. So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983

You may be correct in some cases, but that isn't my opinion of the matter which is what I am posting here... By no means do i claim to be a conservative or GOP wannabe mouthpiece. My opinion is not that of the GOP's core values, so don't imply that it is. I say it is mostly the individual's fault, not the GOP, not the Dems, not the bankers, though they each added contributing factors which if ALL had occurred in the correct order in conjunction could have delayed or averted the matter, the majority of the blame belongs on the individuals who don't want to hear that they spent more than they could afford. Blaming one of the key aspects of our economy that keeps it turning and adding unnecessary restrictions (some may be justified, but cartainly not all he wants to do) in a reactionary, shoot from the hip to stay popular way is going to do more harm than good. When the banks do well they're evil, when they do poorly, they're evil. Doesn't make sense, i think it is important to encourage growth and recovery rather than chastise and punish it. So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983
  16. You do realize proprietary trading has absolutely nothing to do with the lending collapse... right? O is really starting to reach and pick at straws with the banks now that they are all unexpectedly (to him) paying him back. So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983

very cute bill. I'm not sure how this is so hard for you to understand. I'm not saying the dems are guilty of the financial crisis. I'm saying they are guilty, as usual, of using it to create scapegoats (the rich, the successful, and big business) to further their agenda. You do realize the version of the article you altered could be considered socialist bordering on communist. It is certainly a far cry from our country's founding principals. I think since the majority of americans felt we were headed in the socialist direction where we have no voice, the following is explained: My turn to get cute- Hey, you remember that time when one of the most liberal states with a 25%+ margin of victory in the general election and with only 18% registered repubs voted for a republican senator in a seat that was held by the liberal "lion" for decades at a job no republican had held for decades? It happened right before the passing of a liberal legistlative cornerstone policy was to be passed on a party line divided, supermajority vote, but then most of the people in the state realized the gov't wasn't representing their beliefs well at all and were pushing unnecessary regualtions/policy down our throats, and the people rose up and voted the whole thing away? Remember when that happened? I do

Uhhhh, I'm saying it's mostly our own fault collectively, not the dems fault. I am also saying that since our society does not like to bear responsibility for bad things, the dems get off on blaming rich people for all the worlds problems and gain votes/popularity through scapegoats and promises to give away free money to the largest voting populations. Sure there was irresponsible lending, some blame needs to be placed there as no one is entirely innocent. I am still of the opinion that ultimately we are responsible for our own actions, so more blame is on idiot america. Further, it is the dems that push for less restrictions on lending, so the "less fortunate" can afford a bigger home... then when the defaults start piling up the very same dems turn around and blame the banks when people can't be responsible for themselves. Obama has been on the record recently trying to get banks to lend more money a year after he chastised them for lending too much money to too many people. Comically, he is now trying to pass legislation on proprietary trading in the name of 'banking reform' which has absolutely nothing to do with the financial collapse of recent. A simple rule would have prevented this whole mess: don't buy shit you cant afford, and if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983

A concise op ed on how the real world works, regardless of what politicians want you to think. the author is saying Americans nowadays need to blame someone else for downturns or misfortune which is why we self destruct. More often than not it is the democratic party that points the finger away from the citizen or D.C. and targets corporate America. I think the closing line is pure genius: After all, “It’s Actually Your Fault, America” is not a good slogan for a re-election campaign. http://blogs.wsj.com/deals/2010/01/21/mean-street-obama-is-killing-america-by-killing-wall-street/ So there I was... 21. I didn't say that. Nor do I condone some of skyride's practices, like what you have mentioned. As I have stated before, I am on the record supporting ASC the dropzone only. My point is: in this localized case you have a few extremely vocal people waving the flag of justice trying to criminalize the very thing their home DZ is doing, albeit on a much smaller scale. Now, the attack is directed at a rival DZ. They try to pin the alleged illegal behavior on their rival, when in fact, a larger corporation is actually responsible for the practice that upsets them... along with their home dz, but we can keep that secret under the carpet. Blaming/attacking the dropzone will not get these people to their ends, though it is a great scapegoat and more tangible for the simpletons of the world to understand, it won't achieve their desired results. The situation really is that simple. So there I was... Making friends and playing nice since 1983
