    Agree with Diablo... work on rear float and you will get some killer exit shots on that type of exit. Make sure the TMs give you a good, clear count or they will take you out if you are late....

    Agreed, great thread. I have had all of these things happen. I also think that being a camera flyer before getting my tandem rating has made me a better TI. I think about the video and realize that the TI is a big part of the show that is being filmed. From little things like looking into the camera, facing the sun, SMILING, lifting the students head and pointing to the camera flyer so the student gets some good stills... all those things I pay attention to because several TI's didnt when I was doing video. I still like jumping video's more than taking the students, but dubbing sucks.

    Thanks. It was prompted by some interesting conversation around the bonfire a couple weeks ago and I thought some other opinions would be interesting to hear. As technology continues to evolve and tools become more user friendly for skydivers I am curious how far we will go using those tools to bend the rules a bit. I appreciate the input. Tom

    He did a way better job than I could have.. so good on him in my book. I like the hook on the song... I have used it on some tandem videos when the person seemed to fit that kind of music. So he has tried to find a niche, what is wrong with that?

    if you were a TI and headed to altitude and the hole you were aiming for closed up... would you get out of the plane if you had a wrist mounted GPS? You would know exactly where you were but the industrial haze was stronger than when you took off. Would that tool make any difference in our decision to jump or not? Just wondering.

    I have been in Brisbane for 2 days... I have sent emails to what I think are the local DZ's to find out who is open and jumping and NO ONE has written me back.. is there a DZ open in the land of OZ or what??? this is getting boring.. on the other hand, Brisbane ROCKS and these are, by far, the most beautiful women in the world... hands down.

    There may be nothing sexier in the world than women jumping out of a plane almost naked. I dont care one bit that they are not very good RW flyers.... it would be my pleasure to work with each one on their skills!!!

    50 bucks for video and stills... I do all the editing of both and pay to mail them to the students.

    I liked it. As I listened I tried to picture working that into my tandem videos... and struggled with a song to complement this one on the video... So, my only recourse is to ask that you make another to go with this one!!

    There is a story to every one of these.... but this one is just sadder than others as we hear about it. Fighting his way to make it to the show, and killed on opening night.. that is Shakespear sad right there...

    Like others have said I have no hard and fast limit. Depends on gusts and roughness. One thing I do follow is I am way more conservative on working jumps, taking the tandems, than when I am on my own gear. Perhaps when I have more than 115 tandems I will be willing to take a little more wind risk, but for now that is not the case.

    so i started drinking on friday night and have not stopped... a tad bit of sleep, but really drunk for the past 36 hours... finally a weekend with no resonsibilites... nothing... this is cool...

    Albany is a great option. Easy drive from the airport on the Thruway for about an hour and a half.

    agreed, Spain. I spent 6 months in Grao de Castellon and fell in love at least 15 times!!

    There is a reason the world rejoiced when Obama was elected... I believe we have already regained some of the lost respect with this election. There really is a worldwide hope that the US will become world leaders again and not just bullies hell bent on thinking of no one and nothing other than ourselves. If we make the world a better place, don't we in the states have it better as well? seems to make sense to me.
