If you believe higher taxes on the wealthy will ruin the economy, how do you explain the late 1990s? How do you explain the economy under Carter when taxes were much higher? Same under Carter as under Nixon and Ford, and less than under Eisenhower. Thanks for buttressing my argument; that it is phycology rather than policy that makes the difference. If the country feels confident about the future than it hardly matters what the policies are. Of course the inverse is true as well. Too bad data do not support your assertion. That's rich, coming from a guy who believes that the data indicate that the fear of Obama being elected is what caused the rate of job loss to increase. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Don't you claim to be an engineer? If it were a psychological effect of Obama being elected, then the rate of job loss would not have begun decreasing once Obama was actually in office, but it did. The damage was already done. Think about it for a second. Obama says he is going to spread your wealth around. How will he do this? Things like employer mandates and Obama care. If you are a small business, you might be carrying one or two folks to buffer your business to make live easy for everyone, coverage during vacations and such. Now you have to look at each employee as a tool for Obama to spread your wealth. The rational thing to do is to let those marginal employees go. Once they are gone you are left with nothing but your bare bones operation. Thus the rate of job loss stabilizes. Notice how a trillion dollars of spending on "shovel ready” Have cofounded the models which suggested that if the stimulus bill was passed then unemployment would go no high than 8%. As far as inflation is concerned; the only reason it is not at double digits is because everyone is sitting on their cash, because of uncertainty, hardly a good thing. Your rationalizations are nothing short of foolish. The data do not support your assertions. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

My challenge to you remains unmet. You can't find a single recent comment posted by me in which I "stated that certain types of arms should not be allowed and that people should not be allowed to carry." Since you are unable do that, it's clear which one of us is being dishonest. (I'll give you a hint: it isn't me.) Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Your data show that the rate of job loss decreased after Obama took office. You miss the point. It is not about when he took office, it was about when he was elected. It is not about policy it is about perception. No, I didn't miss the point. You're trying to blame Obama for the problems the nation faced while Bush was in office. An objective analysis reveals the folly of your argument. You remind me of my old girlfriend; she would take what I said and then "correct the data". My point is; that it is psychology and not policy the determines economics. Obama was merely an example. Truth be told Obama's policies, are largely indistinguishable from Bush's. The data need not be corrected. It simply doesn't support your assertion. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Really? Do you have any actual data to back up your assertion? The proposition that the Community Reinvestment Act caused all the bad stuff, because government forced helpless bankers into lending to Those People, has been refuted up, down, and sideways. The vast bulk of subprime lending came from institutions not subject to the CRA. Commercial real estate lending, which was mainly lending to rich white developers, not you-know-who, is in much worse shape than subprime home lending. Source Some critics of the CRA contend that by encouraging banking institutions to help meet the credit needs of lower-income borrowers and areas, the law pushed banking institutions to undertake high-risk mortgage lending. We have not yet seen empirical evidence to support these claims, nor has it been our experience in implementing the law over the past 30 years that the CRA has contributed to the erosion of safe and sound lending practices. … We found that the loans that are the focus of the CRA represent a very small portion of the subprime lending market, casting considerable doubt on the potential contribution that the law could have made to the subprime mortgage crisis. … We found that delinquency rates were high in all neighborhood income groups, and that CRA-related subprime loans performed in a comparable manner to other subprime loans; as such, differences in performance between CRA-related subprime lending and other subprime lending cannot lie at the root of recent market turmoil. … Contrary to the assertions of critics, the evidence does not support the view that the CRA contributed in any substantial way to the crisis in the subprime mortgage market. Source "So let the record show: CRA is not guilty of causing the financial crisis." -FDIC Chairman Sheila Bair to The New America Foundation conference: "Did Low-income Homeownership Go Too Far?": Washington, DC, December 17, 2008 Source CRA is not the culprit behind the subprime mortgage lending abuses, or the broader credit quality issues in the marketplace," [Comptroller of the Currency John C.] Dugan said in a speech to the Enterprise Annual Network Conference. And how is that remotely relevant to a TREND? Attached. The chart you attached was the "adjusted trend” The raw data indicates no increase. that is why the trend has to be "adjusted" I have far too much respect for your intellect to suggest that for one second that you believe anything that you have just posted. It's adjusted to account for KNOWN effects such as the southern oscillation, volcanoes, and measured aerosol albedo variations, which account for fluctuations superimposed on the warming trend. It's probably a lost cause trying to explain to some people the basic concepts of multiple regression analysis. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! -
Well, If it wasn't for science and all it's medications and prophylactics, I'd argue that the gay community would've died off by now...no wonder science is your God. Doubtful. I read a about a study recently that found that the female relatives of gay men tend to be more fertile than average. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
