I think in a classroom setting, black armbands have a far lower potential to be disruptive than than a t-shirt with "BE ASHAMED, OUR SCHOOL EMBRACED WHAT GOD HAS CONDEMNED" and "HOMOSEXUALITY IS SHAMEFUL" printed on it. IIRC potential or actual disruption has been a factor in Supreme Court decisions involving First Amendment rights in public schools. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! What are your qualifications to determine who has ADHD and who doesn't? I've had ADHD my whole life. It was just officially diagnosed within the past month. (I'm in my thirties.) It is a royal PITA trying to get medications. I would love to be able to find one of those doctors that writes scripts just to get rid of people. So far, no luck. What has happened: I had a 4-5 hour consultation with a clinical psychologist, which included tests to determine the severity of ADHD related symptoms and an IQ test. I was referred to a psychiatrist, with whom I had a one hour consultation where we reviewed the results of those tests. I was referred to an medical doctor, who determined that from a medical perspective, I am a good candidate for medication based treatment. The MD referred me to another psychiatrist (with whom I have not yet had an appointment) who will presumably ask a bunch more questions, and (hopefully) prescribe meds. I understand that finding the right meds at the right dosage levels is also a potentially lengthy process. Just getting an initial prescription is costing me a substantial amount of time and money. Now, I don't often get prescriptions, but in my experience, it has never taken a month between diagnosis to treatment initiation. That it is taking that long this time leads me to believe that an ADHD diagnosis an the subsequent treatment is not taken lightly by medical or psychiatric professionals. My parents also belong to the camp that believes ADHD is some made up (or at least less common than actual diagnoses) condition. For that matter, until I started doing some research, I was inclined to believe the same thing. Hopefully now I can move on to improve those aspects of my life that have been negatively affected by this condition. Incidentally, I am considering law school, though it is not at the top of my list of possibilities. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

I don't think anyone is trying to say they should be exempt from service. I do think such scientists are far better utilized in a capacity other other than operating a weapon. It is much easier to train someone to use a weapon than to teach them atomic physics. Just my $.02 Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

I'm not sure. Northern west coast perhaps. Maybe back to Hawai'i. Maybe Europe or Oz. Or perhaps somewhere else. If I plan too far ahead in life, it ruins the surprise. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Doesn't a non-stop round trip defeat the purpose of getting on the plane to start with? Does Pheonix look that spectacular from the air that people want to just fly in, circle the city a few times and fly back home? Or is it just so bad that people see it from the air and immediately decide to go back home? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

It's an overly ambitious sand bar. There's often no space in between cities. The state government sucks. The low quality of education is apparent in many of the states native citizens. (To be fair, I have seen a number of FL high school grads with a fair amount of Math under their belt, better than many college grads.) There is a lack of decent restaurants. There is a lack of decent radio stations. It gets too hot in the summer, and too cold in the winter. Too many loud pipes. There are medians everywhere, so I can rarely turn left without a stoplight. Morons that believe it is their birthright to drive on the beach. Love bugs. Fire ants. Sand f@#$!&g everywhere. I'm sure I could go on, but I think you get the idea. The greatest redeeming feature is all the foreigners. The cosmopolitan culture is admittedly nice. There are worse places, I'm sure (I've lived in some of them.), but I can't wait to graduate and leave this place for good. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

I wish I worked today. It would give me something to do to pass the time. Oh well, in two more days I get to leave the god forsaken state of Florida for a while. Yippee!!! Oh yeah...Bah Humbug. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

what picture are you talking about? I mentioned the first photo with the firefighters is not white hot but more likeley a search light but the moulten mess beeing dragged out of the ground is a different story. Any picture, it doesn't matter. Flame color offers no useful information without also knowing exact chemical composition of what's burning. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! I haven't been gone for 20+ years, but yes. I almost moved back about a year and a half ago. It sucked so bad I drove all my stuff back to Florida after only a couple weeks. I still despise Florida, but I have found that the midwest is not a suitable compromise between the east coast and the west coast. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! Infinity. Ummm...no. X divided by zero is undefined. The limit of x/n as n approaches 0 from the positive side is equal to positive infinity. The same limit as n approaches zero from the negative side is negative infinity. There's no known answer, only a giant asymptote, like the answer is everything and nothing all at the same time. That's kind of how God has been described by some, hence the question. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

You are judgmental, aren't you? Personally, I see the Bible as a moral guidebook, not unlike Aesop's fables or the Chuang Tse. I merely use logic to demonstrate that the Bible can't be taken literally, due to numerous logical inconsistencies. Of course, I understand that anyone who does not interpret the Bible exactly as you do is misinterpreting it. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

I'm not so sure about that. The Constitution empowers Congress to "To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions." Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

If one knows exactly what is burning, flame color may offer information about temperature. If one does not know exactly what is burning, flame color offers no useful information. In this case, it is not known exactly what is burning, so no conclusions about temperature can be drawn from a picture. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

No offense, but I believe you lack insight into what atheists think. You seem to believe anyone who approaches the Bible with a bit of logic is a "fundy atheist." If you don't see the many inconsistencies of the Bible, perhaps it is not the atheists who lack the insight. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Well, I wasn't really thinking supreme power like causing the Big Bang or anything. I just wanted to start a thread made up more of suggestions than criticisms. We have enough other threads bitching about how things are and the problems we have. I am interested in knowing what people would do if they were somehow in a position to be able to implement change etc. on a national level. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour!
