  1. If you want more read a book by a theoretical physicist on the subject. And it will be just as non-applicable as before. Why is it so hard to imagine that modern descriptions of the world around us might share similarities to ancient descriptions of the world around us? Does the post renaissance west have some sort of corner on knowledge and observation? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  2. And would you care to offer your opinion of the dismal failure that is the Iraq war? I think it would be very difficult to consider it anything but a very poor implementation of action. No one is arguing that Clinton was a great president. IMO, the only reason he is even considered a good president is because of how bad the presidents that preceded and succeeded him have been. 3. The duality concept in religion, most often of the masculine and feminine energies, in comparison to the dual nature (particle/wave) of light is but one obvious example. Sorry, off the top of my head I can't remember the Hindu name for the duality concept, but Taoism refers to it as yin and yang. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  4. I disagree completely. Many of the similarities are fairly obvious. It's nothing like saying that. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  5. I think some of the similarities are fairly obvious (and quite interesting). However, it is important to note that the similarities involve the explanations from Physics, not the theories (aka mathematical models) from Physics. To quote Fritjof Capra, "the map is not the territory." Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  6. Remember which president pushed for those Iraq sanctions. One can hardly assume that the deaths in Rwanda were caused by Clinton's inactions. Should we blame all the deaths in Darfur on Bush? That would move his total up to close to 2 million. One has to really twist their imagination to find that Clinton caused anywhere near the death toll of Bush. Math tutoring available. 7. So you're willing to kill more of our good people, who are willing to stand in the gap? Sometimes its best not to respond to such lunacy. It's not lunacy to desire that those fighting the war be a subset of those who support the war. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  8. You just let me know how to count deaths that have not been reported by anyone. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  9. Yes, that is a fact. I posted a link showing the 1.3 million Iraqi death's from Bush's war previously in this thread. Since the war in Iraq has proven to be a HUGE mistake, and Colin Powell went on record in 2001 claiming that Iraq posed no significant threat to her neighbors, it's tough to blame those deaths on Clinton. Ok, that's the figures you are attributing to Bush. Now, to back up your claim, you must present figures of civilian deaths attributed to Clinton's actions (or inaction). Still waiting.
  10. Hey, you said it. If you meant something else, you should have said something else. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  12. You mentioned that there had been no more terrorist attacks against US citizens. I was just pointing out that that was not true. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  13. Many, many more civilians have needlessly died from Bush's actions than from Clinton's. I don't consider an American life any more valuable than a life of any other nation. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  14. Are you claiming that US soldiers are not US citizens? BTW, the primary intent of invading Iraq was to stop SH from launching weapons of mass destruction against the US, which we "knew" he could do with only 45 minutes notice. Phew…It's a good thing that threat's gone! Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  15. So how can we say that Bush's methods of putting pressure on bin Laden are better or more effective than Clinton's? According to the results, neither have successfully captured bin Laden. However, Bush has spent hundreds of billions, much of which has been borrowed, in his failed efforts. Unknown lives have been lost due to Bush's failed efforts. The US is stuck in two unsuccessful wars due to Bush's failed efforts. All things considered, it appears that Clinton had the better approach. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 16. With all of Bush's action, why haven't we found and captured bin Laden with Bush at the helm? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  17. Umm…that's a definition of progressive when used as an adjective as well. If your dictionary really says otherwise, you would be well advised to find another dictionary! Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  19. Yes they did. Notice that they waited for a president to let America's guard down to do so. I'm not sure how it could be viewed any other way. We created a breeding ground and recruiting poster propaganda for terrorism when we invaded Iraq, to say nothing of our ill-conceived invasion of Afghanistan. Iraq War US military deaths - 3888 US military casualties - 28451 Non-US coalition casualties - 306 Iraqis - 1,130,689 Afghan war US military deaths - 469 Non-US coalition deaths - 274 I was unable to find estimates of total Afghan deaths from the war. 20. If you will recall, Clinton took a lot of slack from conservatives about treating bin Laden like a legitimate threat. True, he didn't over-react as Bush did, but it is very plausible that had Bush kept the pressure on bin Laden when he took office, as Clinton advised as the exiting president, 9/11 would have never occurred. Or, perhaps it would have occurred still. But, with Gore in office instead of Bush, it is probable that the US leadership would not have gone off the deep end, and would have reacted more sensibly. As it is, we've wasted hundreds of billions of dollars, and the world is less safe than it was pre-9/11. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  21. Not much of an accomplishment considering the Dow generally has a positive rate of change. When the amount of time it took the Dow to re-reach the level it was at when Bush took office is also considered, the "accomplishment" is lessened even further. And a home mortgage crisis to show for the ill advised low rates set by Bush's administration. And all we had to do was stop counting those who were looking for work. It sure would have sucked for Gore to continue in Clinton's footsteps and keep the pressure on bin Laden pre 9/11, instead of waiting until the threat was proven beyond any doubt. I'm also thankful that we didn't have to suffer a president who understood the importance of renewable energy. It would have been terrible to have a president who, at the very least, would have been able to keep pressure on the energy industry to keep prices down so they are competitive with renewable sources. I'm certainly glad America was mislead about the threat Iraq posed to her neighbors and the rest of the world. We would be so much worse off without a borrow and spend method of finance for an unnecessary war that has killed thousands of Americans, and hundreds of thousands, if not over a million, Iraqi civilians, removing a secular leader from a region in need of secular leaders in the process. True, perfect candidates are largely non-existent, but Bush has screwed up everything he has touched. after nearly seven years, I am still waiting for him to do something right, for the first time in his presidency. 22. In his (fairly) recent book, Greenspan called (W.J.) Clinton and Nixon the two most intelligent presidents he had worked with. (Incidentally, he also said that Reagan had the least understanding of economics, which helps explain why trickle down economics/voodoo economics/Reaganomics failed as it did.) 24. Indeed. An impeachment determines none of that. An impeachment is just to get him or her outta there. Yes, "Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States". However, if a party not convicted is still subject to subsequent indictment for the same offenses, why would the Constitution specify "the Party convicted"? Wouldn't "the Party" or "the Party impeached" be sufficient had the founding Fathers intended that parties impeached and acquitted could be subject to indictments subsequent to impeachment proceedings? It would seem that they specified "Party convicted" for a reason. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  25. I disagree. Multiple (credible) studies have indicated that impairment from cannabis is minimal in comparison to impairment from alcohol use. The effects of smoking heavily affect driving on a magnitude similar to taking over the counter cold medicines as directed. Furthermore, drivers under the influence of cannabis tend to perceive their impairment and compensate for it. There is no reason to treat driving under the influence of the two very different substances the same. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
