  1. >>>>Well, what makes you think I am a preacher? And, what makes you think I found my spirituality from a preacher? Could it be that the Christianity you have been witness to is not the one I follow? I believe it could, and probably is. I have stayed away from the church for a very long time, and I still do for the most part. I dont want to bad mouth it because many people get spiritually fed in there and lives are changed for the better, but for me, I find more enjoyment and spiritual connection with God than with the church. I do get to find genuine Christians every now and then, but their not all over the place believe me. While I may be the one who is considered false, I still find great comfort in likeminded believers who know, understand, and follow Jesus with all thier heart. Jesus gives us forgiveness for the things we are guilty for, and I am guilty for alot. Why would I turn down this forgiveness? If you can find me holier than thou, then you have done a good job locating the grace in me, but truth is something you havent seen. You havent heard my confessions, my guilt, my shame. I have said it many times, but you still have not heard it, and for that again, all I can say is I am very sorry. I am trying. >>>>Nevertheless, the dali lama did not die for my sins, and Jesus, while I also know he was a cool man, was also crucified, buried, ressurected, and is fully alive today, testifying to the spirit of grace and finishing the work of the word of God through the testimony of those who believe on him. Of course I know you dont believe this, but I do, with all my heart. >>>>It seems you may believe that we find spirituality outside of reality, I can assure you, it is quite the opposite. But again, we just believe differently. >>>>Yes. I have and still do pray for "stupid little things" but, we actually do grow in our understanding spiritually, that is even our prayers mature and we learn more and more what to pray for. Jesus, was always asking people what they truly wanted, sometimes its finding what we truly want that can be the most evasive in our search. I am much more humble in my prayers now, and mostly spend them praying for others. I feel what I pray for is really sort of personal, between me and Jesus. Literally, I will ask him for my own time, just him and I, and there is much truth in those prayers. Jesus knows me more than I know myself, so I try hard not to hide my shortcomings and failures. But I hope me not going into details for you doesnt make you think I am dodging your question (that I feel is sincere), but its like sharing your deepest heart with someone and in my case, that heart is just for Jesus...he gets it all. I guess im a bit selfish in that regard. Do I think he listens? Absolutely. And sometimes, you can even hear him listening. You know, if you ever stop focusing on the metaphor of Christ, and start focusing on his message, I think you'll find that you could learn a lot from Jeanie^2. Math tutoring available. 2. Al Qaeda did not exist in its form during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. bin Laden created "the base" after he was disowned by his family when he protested US protection of Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield. The Mujahedin in Afghanistan were not an organized base or "al Qaeda" when ISI was supplying arms and training against the USSR. Al Qaeda was formed in 87-88. Their tactics were essentially the same then as now, as was their ideology. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  3. Millions? Can you please provide credible sources to back that up? Not a great source, but Iranian deaths alone are thought to be up beyond 1M. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran-Iraq_War#Casualties_on_Iranian_Side Those figures include KIA from chemical weapon attacks. Those figures also include soldiers, not just innocent civilians. Of course, many of those deaths could have been averted, if not for the US supplying chemical weapons to Iraq in another manifestation of our misguided foreign policy. Having said that, the intent of my comment to which you responded was regarding Iraqi civilian deaths at the hands of Saddam and at the hands of the US, especially with Bush, Clinton and Bush at the helm. Saddam was no Mother Theresa, but we haven't been any better to Iraqis. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  4. It was Rush Limbaugh. Let's just say it was many thousands (I'm shooting low here so not to disturb you) and all the mass graves have not been discovered yet. So, have you forgotten about those innocent lives? Nope. Nor have I forgotten all the innocent lives lost during Desert Storm, the lives lost due to economic sanctions in the intervening years between Desert Storm and OIF, or the civilian deaths caused by our invasion and occupation. I also haven't failed to consider the amount of time it took US foreign policy to take those lives in comparison to the amount of time Saddam was in power. (Incidentally, how do you think the Baathists came to power?) Remember our proxy war in Afghanistan? You probably don't recall that al Qaeda were our allies then, but we called them freedom fighters instead of terrorists. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  5. WWI&II were a single war with an intermission. It's not realistic for the US to take credit for there not being a world war since WWII, Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  6. Or perhaps because highlighting what's going on in Iraq and Afghanistan also highlights how US foreign policy has failed in the last seven and a half years (not that its ever been very good since WWII). Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  7. Millions? Can you please provide credible sources to back that up? And also aren't consistent with it. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  8. By those standards, it seems that US foreign policy has not worked well, especially in the middle east. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  9. Let's just all role belly up and see if someone will scratch our tummys! No lets just keep doing the same thing over and over again and maybe we will get a different result cause you know that’s a logical out look. Your right! We should. Why? Cause it is working! AND YOU CANT STAND IT On what metric do you base your assertion? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  10. A better analogy would be breaking one window, but paying for, not only its replacement, but also the replacement of the other broken window on the house. Sure, it sucks that the window was broken during the party, but the homeowner receives a net benefit. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  11. That's because KC BBQ has some class. What does class have to do with it? The best BBQ is almost always in a raggedy shack on the wrong side of the tracks, looks like it could burn down at any minute, and probably did the week before. No argument. Just pointing out that texas bbq is seriously outclassed by Kansas City style BBQ, not the KC style BBQ joints are classy. As I previously posted, matching chairs are rarely a good sign in a good barbeque joint. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  16. Sure there is (US) government control on those dollars. For example, if the US increases the amount of currency, devaluing the US dollar, the US dollar is devalued no matter who holds it. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  18. I am not the one making any claims. I am only responding to those that are. Those who are making claims have been supporting their claims with credible scientific data. Those who keep crying "BS!" in response to their GW claims have generally been doing so without any credible evidence to support an alternative explanation of observed phenomena. Their denials have (largely) themselves become outlandish claims. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  21. First, the intent is not to replace all the oil imported. There would be no need to even if this was possible. Reason, Canada and Mexico oil would continue to be imported. 10 to 20% of current "product", not crude oil, refined product, is imported in maninly the form of gas. It is refined somewhere else and brought in by ship> (I think is is closer to 10%). Reasons? Environmental restrictions in place for both drilling and manufacturing. The reserves posted about here could offset that importing and, I would think that supplying 10% of our product using our own oil and refining WOULD have an impact. And conservativly, this is reported to have have an impact of nearly 60 years. So, while the report may be misleading (in your mind) it not any more "misleading" than the context or your reply here. The Bakken region is being drilled. There just isn't enough oil there to have a significant effect on the world market. There aren't trillions of barrels of reserves as being claimed by some. You might try reading the science regarding that topic before you make such outlandish claims. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  22. The secret to great BBQ sauce is to heat the sauce separate from the meat. Good sauce needs to be kept a a temperature lower than that at which the meat is cooked, otherwise the sugar in the sauce will burn and spoil the flavor. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour!
