The North Pole:- we hate to say we told you so, but we told you so

It comes as such a relief that we have posters in SC that know so much more about climatology than climatologists. Thanks for explaining everything. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! -
Did you read the post you replied to? Race was not mentioned anywhere. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

I was referring to the primary and secondary education system. Having said that, there's lots of room for improvement in the university system as well, at least in Florida. When it comes to healthcare, the US leads only in high price per capita, not quality. I'm much closer to the former than the latter, but I still see it as a problem. Math tutoring available. Yes they did. Bush even admitted it. He just failed to accept responsibility for the failure as he promised to do. That also occurred. Okay, please share. Why? blame game, nothing more I see. So, you have no substantial answer. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Pretty good is subjective. Our relative_quality:cost ratio isn't very high for a developed nation. Critical in my opinion. But, why is the current education system failing? Teachers must cope with disruptive kids from dysfunctional families in the classroom, thus catering to the lowest common denominator. What do we do about that? A shortage of teachers is a major contributing factor. We don't generally pay our teachers enough to attract enough qualified applicants. As I've said several times now, let western democracies pay their own way. Huge amount of money WE can save simply doing that. We could also stop funding ludicrous programs like the missile defense system. Downsizing our standing army would be another good step. It's getting plenty of news coverage. Fortunately, the federal government is not in denial about the severity of the flooding, so the media doesn't need to hammer the point home. That is only one of many places our defense budget needs to be reduced. Agreed, and when that doesn't work, there should be a safety net in place. Living in a developed country has its price. Considering how the cost:quality ratio of our healthcare compares to other developed countries with socialized healthcare, your logic seems a bit off. It appears that a partially socialized system would bring improvements to that cost:quality ratio. A mixed economy is superior to either pure capitalism or pure socialism. Both ideologies have their strengths and weaknesses. As a nation, we should be intelligent and objective enough to take advantage of both types of systems in order to maximize the strengths and minimize the weaknesses. Math tutoring available. I suspect that if you link to credible sources that make similar claims, people might consider it worthy of their time. Internet videos don't qualify as credible sources. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! -

The fact that Jim and Bob and Steve and Andy are all beating THEIR wives doesn't mean it's right to beat YOUR wife, too... to use an equally stupid analogy. I agree. Just because other countries try to be responsible members of the international community is no reason for the US to make such an attempt. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! $3/gallon gas, $100/barrell oil, and US foreign policy

Is another $40 a month really that big of a deal? For people on fixed incomes, yes. Especially when increased fuel costs are coupled with price increases for most other things due to increased shipping costs. Add in the increasing price of healthcare, and things start looking pretty gloomy, indeed. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! -
Science is non-judgmental. Form a testable hypothesis claiming god's existence, and you'll have no problem getting science to test it objectively. Finding the truth of reality. (That's truth by its standard definition, not the imaginary definition that has been used so often in these discussions.) One Love? Excellent idea.

What you have done is shown you have a lot to learn about rasing kids. No I have never seen a spanking even come close to breaking bones, I have beat the shit out of someone and broke his leg. He was not a child and he was a thief. I had a family living around me that did not spank and they were the worse kids in the "hood" when Ms liberal could no longer control the oldest they took him to juvie hall. I raise a few kids of my own, help raise a few and drove not a few on school bus, ect ect, ect. I received a large number of spankings growing up. Never had a single bone broke, funny how you do not get it. Now how many do you have? How did you become a "expert"? First, I never claimed to be an expert. So, did you learn to break legs because you were spanked growing up, or despite it? Your self description doesn't exactly paint you as a fine upstanding citizen. Math tutoring available.
