To claim the right to run one's own clinic as one sees fit, but expecting other clinics to be run as the employees see fit is hypocritical. It wasn't off topic. It merely highlighted the hypocrisy of a poster's logic. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Before you hook your iPod up to your computer, I would 1) make sure you don't have malware that erases music files and 2) search your hard drive (ideally from a Terminal window in Linux, which every good Windows user should keep installed on at least an external drive) for .mp3, .acc, .wma, etc. files. I've never used the Consolidate Library… feature in iTunes. It's possible that my understanding of what it does is incorrect. It may only move music already in your library to the iTunes Music folder. However, if "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" is checked, then all the music should have been there. Edit: Consolidate Library only affects files already in your library, which is none in your case. It also appears that iTunes may not copy files to iTunes Music by default in Windows. Do you notice the extra space available on your drives? If not, the music should still be there. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

It sounds like your iTunes Library file was corrupted, moved, or deleted. In your My Music folder (I think; it's been a while since I've had to suffer through Windows), there should be a folder labeled iTunes. In that folder, there should be a folder labeled iTunes Music. It is in that folder that all your iTunes Music exists. In iTunes (the app, not the folder) go to Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> General and you will see an editable field with the path to your iTunes Music folder. If "Copy files to iTunes Music folder is checked (it is by default) then your music is in that folder. Also, under the Advanced tab in the iTunes (window) menu, there is an option to "Consolidate Library…", which copies all of the music files on your computer (perhaps excepting .wma files) to your iTunes Music folder. Note that it copies them, it does not move them. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Of course you do. Another discussion and scenario, perhaps, but the same ethical question, nonetheless. Do personal beliefs justify undermining professional duties? If it would get one imprisoned, then that's the same as not having the right to do so. I can only conclude from your post that you feel it should be permissible for your patients to file charges that ultimately result in your imprisonment for refusing to perform an abortion. That's hard core. I would have only suggested finding an area of medicine in which to practice that does not violate your personal values. Yes, it is, at least as far as the UCMJ is concerned. It is not, however, a valid justification for illegal actions (i.e. actions prohibited by law or UCMJ). Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Agreed. If personal beliefs do not affect ones ability to perform the required duties of their job, it should not affect the hiring or retention process. OTOH, if the beliefs leave one unable to perform their duties, then a prospective employer should be allowed to refrain from hiring them and employers should be free to fire them. Medical professionals unwilling to perform or assist with abortions would be best suited practicing an area of medicine that does not require them. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! So, should an individual soldier be allowed to choose to abstain from serving in Iraq (while continuing to serve in the military) simply because they disagree with that particular war? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

What do you mean? (Draught) Guinness is so light that when poured, bubbles actually move downward in the glass. You don't like her or something? The least you could do is offer her some proper beer. (Hint: Anheuser-Busch does not brew proper beer.) They have decent microbreweries in the northwest. No, that was W's claim, to stop the bully that posed an imminent threat to the US. Except Saddam posed no threat to the US in reality. The US was the bully in the scenario. We invaded and destroyed the infrastructure of a weaker country without good reason. No. Are you so paranoid that you believe any country that doesn't do things exactly like the US poses a imminent grave threat to freedom, democracy, and/or the US? Yes, it is. It's time to set aside the "USA is absolutely good" propaganda and take a look at reality. Sometimes we are the good guys. Sometimes we are the bad guys. When we invaded Iraq, we were the bad guys. Saddam may not have been a great guy, but we were no better by invading. Are you really naïve enough to believe the oil has nothing to do with it? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! I think, sir, if you read said Joint Resolution, you will find that many of the reasons listed for the authorization were, in fact, lies claims made based on faulty intelligence by the Bush administration that were, unfortunately, taken at face value. Without those lies that faulty intelligence, it is highly doubtful the resolution would have passed. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Do you mean to tell us that you believe a computer programmer knows more about climate science than climatologists? He's not be part of the consensus because it's highly doubtful that climatologists much care what his opinion is so far outside his area of expertise. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! That's a pretty big "if." Huge. Feel free to provide some documentation. He's willing and has used them on people. What relevance is the source of the weaponry? We're talking capability, Intent and opportunity here Why do you suppose we provided the chemical weapons? Hint: so he could use them on people. However, the chemical weapons have a shelf life. The capability no longer existed. The opportunity was not there. We knew it, and he knew it. If he had intent, he would have had a weapons program in place to replace the old weapons. You can try to justify the invasion all you want, but at the end of the day, it was a big bully country picking on a smaller, essentially defenseless country. It was a waste of resources and a demonstration of poor leadership on the part of the CINC. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

That would indicate a very low standard for evidence. If you see ammonia under someone's sink, do you automatically assume they build bombs? If their medicine cabinet has Sudafed in it, does that imply they cook meth? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

In other words, you've got no evidence to support your claims. No surprise there. Apparently, you were watching the news during the late 90's to early 2000's. Yes, I was watching/listening to the news. Are you claiming such threats would not have been newsworthy? Okay, it was evidence of his huge chemistry expierment. Or, perhaps, a completely legal civilian nuclear energy program. Just because technology has multiple uses does not mean that everyone we don't like is using that technology for military/aggressive purposes. We also know that he got the chemical weapons from the US. What's your point? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

I understood the assertion the first time I read it. What I don't understand is how or why the two things are related. One cannot run for Congress or President when they are eighteen (or even twenty-one). That is far more relevant than the minimum legal drinking age. Should we pass a Constitutional Amendment so eighteen year olds can run for President? That would make much more sense than using military service as justification to lower the legal drinking age. Applecare can be purchased anytime within the first year of ownership, but I doubt Applecare would cover damage from being dropped. They did when I dropped my iBook. Like any warranty claim, it depends on how it's written up by the tech. If you read the warranty, it is not supposed to be covered, but sometimes it is. Damage due to spills is not supposed to be covered, either, but sometimes it is. Since the OP's laptop is only three weeks old, it shouldn't matter whether they purchased Applecare or not, since Applecare only extends the original warranty. Math tutoring available. Sure they were. Feel free to share evidence supporting your latest assertion. Or aspirin factories. Reports of a bombing are not indicative of a legitimate justification for the bombing. Oh really? Perhaps you can be more specific and identify a few of those "numerous times" that SH threatened the US. There is no evidence to suggest that. The sanctions worked to stop any WMD programs. The Bush administration even went on record saying that in 2001. Yellow cake is not evidence of a WMD program. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Agreed. I've also not noticed 18-21 year olds being any more or less informed about the relevant issues than older age groups. That's not to say that they are well informed. Sadly, being well informed is the exception rather than the rule, at least in the US. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

True, we have had the draft in the past. Of course, the drinking age has not always been twenty-one, either. It's a bogus comparison. And everybody that pays taxes should be able to vote and run for office. Yet eight year old Skippy keeps getting turned away at the ballot box. Why? There's nothing in the Constitution that forbids him from voting. Drinking legally and entering into a contract have about as much to do with each other as someone's favorite color and what they had for dinner. I'm all for lowering the legal drinking age to 16-18, or even lower with parental supervision. But the reason proposed is non-sensical. If we're going to do it, we should do it for the right reasons (e.g. countries with lower drinking ages have lower rates of alcohol abuse). Incidentally, I've yet to meet a soldier who was unable to drink due to their age. They may be limited in the manner in which they obtain alcohol, or where they can drink, but not typically whether or not they can drink without fear of discipline. Math tutoring available.
