Is there anywhere to find used skysurf boards for sale? A friend of mine is looking for one.
-
Sweet, thanks!
-
Not to stray off the topic, but is the video in question available for download?

Ankle Braces & injury recovery??
katzurki replied to Dumpster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I received some wonderful answers when I asked that question a couple weeks ago... Ankle injuries suck, right? What led you to receive yours? -
So, who won the infamous Aerodyne raffle? I want to ask that person for a beer or ten

14 selections, 6 of which are fixed. That leaves 8 variable. Each can be 1, or 2, or 3 -- three total. Then it's 3^8 = 6561 That is, unless you want to count the order in which you make these selections, in which case the number of the permutations increases significantly.

How about this mighty mp3 instead of that weak midi! Also this and this and this. The only two things I wish for Futurama is that it continue and it portray skydiving accurately. Both of which are probably unlikely to happen :p

all I can say is: About time! Very decent-looking site, not that excuse for design Mirage had had previously off to explore some more.

How's this for a canopy? 13 cells! (not an actual canopy of course...)

Still looking for a program to convert a DVD to AVI

All you wanted to know about video conversion -
Part of my English studies is watching various (usually unbearably boring) videos to sorta practice comprehension skills. There was that video on thrill-seeking, and though a considerable chunk of it was dedicated to cheesy roller-coasters, there was a lot of it dedicated to us skydivers, and them BASErs :) this was a pleasant change in the usual boredom! (I think it was a Discovery educational, and the names mentioned that I remember were Mark Lichte and Jim Crouch. Either of them post here perchance?) Of course all this made the next video all more boring to watch. It was, ironically, dedicated to golf, as though the very essence of the word 'tedious' as opposed to skydiving. Duh. Edit: Crap! now I posted it in the wrong forum :)

The three busy dropzones would be Kolomna, Stupino and Borki, and a couple other ones I don't know much about. If you are going to jump in the winter, your best bet is Kolomna which has recently suffered a 20% price increase (they're at $13 a jump now; talk them into a quantity discount if you're buying in bulk), but is open all week long -- unlike the two other (unsure about Stupino). Come spring/summer, you will not make a wrong choice with either DZ. In my biased opinion, of all three Borki is the smallest, the cheapest and the friendliest one. Lean and mean, but in a good sense :) The facilities and accomodation are fairly similar on all these DZs. If you're coming over here, drop me a PM will ya? Edit to add: you can go to http://www.skyclub.ru and download the top two videos that were shot in Borki to get an overall impression of the place. All of you!

You know, I jumped a genuinely elliptical canopy at #5th jump. That Stealth tandem was sure elliptical enough.

Chuteless survivors? Our DZO is one...

I am thinking about a tail :) one thing though, it's actually furry.

Uh, I read somewhere in a couple other threads that I can't find right now, that there was that guy Greg who supposedly invented the slider, alive, kicking and working for Atair, and in the next post a few months later, that he went to jail what did he do?

Here's how that cheetah design turned out. Thanks Alti-2 :) Now to find a manufacturer that will do a cheetah helmet!
-
You tell me! Thanks; now I have an idea of what to look for.

Absolutely gorgeous! Edit: posting that pic with the appropriate extension.

I had a minor ankle injury a few months ago; the ankle still hurts in an annoying way after a long day. What footwear would be most advisable to jump with, to protect the ankle as much as possible? (my tib or fib was cracked). I am thinking an elastic bandage over the sock would be a good thing, right? What else?

Being a foreigner I have to ask: what the hell is scothguard, and why is it good for rigs?
-
But for the price... :\ Here's the face I submitted to Alti-2 (with invaluable help from dsbbreck -- thanks once again man )... I'm just so into cheetahs (got a cheetah jumpsuit to match.) :)

Russian manufacturers make much better containers than they do canopies (for the price).
