I once had one toggle stuck (it wouldn't unstow, but I still could pull on it) on a Spectre loaded at 1.25, so it was a straight-in approach in 1/2 brakes. Stand-up! Great flare power the thing has.

I had a very good deal on a used PDR 176, but the deal apparently went off (the guy left to travel, and I haven't heard from him since). But my container has already been built (it's hilarious; wait till I get it packed and you see the pics!), hence the question. The instructor (incidentally, our DZ's chief rigger) has advised against putting in the Smart 190 though. So, Smart 175 it is.

I know the numbers, and by published pack volume reference Smart 190 is a lot smaller than PD 176. However, numbers can deceive, so I was thinking maybe a rigger with actual experience with both could shed some light here. Jumpshack says they don't know how it will fit and suggested sending the canopy to them.

My container was originally made for a PD 176, but looks like I'll have to go with a Smart 175. How actually different in volume the two reserves are when packed? (Like, maybe I could go a size bigger with the Smart.)

Quite decent and mildly addictive, when you get the hang of it. Motherload Think Digger Revamped Remember, the fun begins under 4000 ft!

$12 to 13k, a free jump per each tandem brought, and two free jumps per each AFF student brought. Plus bulk discounts if you buy like a hundred jumps at a time.

Damn, you live in an oil-importing country, and I live in an oil-exporting country, and yet gas prices appear to be the same--i.e. HIGH... there's something wrong with that! :)

Nikon D70, a beautiful camera alright :)

Find attached some of the finer arch techniques suited specifically for felines. Let's do those pesky dogs!

Hornet is probably the best canopy out there for the buck. A pocket slider and/or psychopack does wonders for hard openings. I fly a Hornet 170 and plan to keep doing so until it disintigrates of old age, or I can afford a Pilot. Also, if you search for "hornet", hundreds of threads will start coming at you from all directions :) (Not to forget the 35 5-star reviews in the gear section.) Hornet is most commonly compared to Sabre2. I've heard people say that a noticeable difference between the two only becomes apparent when the canopy is heavily loaded.

When I die of carpal tunnel, I'll haunt you for all eternity!!! Edit: ok, finished it. 1331 seconds, 592 deaths.

You are in a tough spot since forgery is a common practice where you reside, and without a functioning system of laws and people who abide by them you have nothing. Naa, forgery is lame.. there're easier semilegal ways of making a profit :) I wish the banks here worked with cashiers checks tho...

I don't get it. Are you saying that in order to transfer funds from an account, all you have to know is that account number? Is there nothing more in the way of authorization?
-
Since this wonderful country I am living in has yet to be recognized by Paypal / find out about the wonders of money orders and cashiers checks, often my only means of payment to individuals in other countries are bank wire transfer and services like WU. People have been reluctant to give me the necessary information to transfer the funds (a wire transfer costs me only about $10 regardless of the amount; WU transfer is about 10-15% of the amount). I just don't follow the logic. So, if I presumably have a malicious intent, and have obtained your bank account number, what could I possibly do with it?

Any disadvantages to Birdman Pantz while belly flying?
katzurki replied to HydroGuy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Just for clarification, can what's been said be equally applied to Phoenix Fly pants? -
A lil bit of clarification--We are going to start on April 30 through May 3. So if you just happen to be in Moscow and have a day off right then, let's ride :)

Did you have the latest service bulletin mod done to your Mirage(s)?

I realize I am a good couple years behind on this thread, but could you or anyone elaborate on this linetwist issue? (the moral being, I guess, don't hook it, but still...) Is this a suitable first canopy at 1:1, after the usual gradual progression?

I learned/practiced packing on a Crossfire 97 whose owner was either very brave, or very lazy, or both, to jump my pack jobs. Packing a canopy this small made it easy and gave me a confidence boost, so last weekend I finally packed my own 170 ft monster, both pro and psycho (with just a teeny wee bit of trash pack applied generously to both methods :P). Psycho is indefinitely easier than pro at this current stage. Not only that, it also opens better.

First jump post AFF, still on ripcord, spring-loaded student gear (my next jump was to be a BOC transition jump). Lost the ripcord, too.

Well, I didn't pay for my repack :) it may have been different if I had had somebody other than the chief rigger for an instructor.

DZ Borki announces the launch of its high-altitude jump weekends starting May, 1, 2005. We're going to jump off a big MI-26 able to haul as many as 90 people at once, with oxygen onboard. Exit altitude varies between 18k to 21k, ticket price, depending on how many people attend, will be $43 (RUR 1200) to $54 (RUR 1500). Tandem jumps $220. And I know for a fact some video guys are willing to happily video you if you but cover the jump slot for them :) Requirements include a B license (I believe A license holders will be allowed to jump solo) and an AAD. Feel free to ask me any questions :) Edit: MI-26 is this big, 120-ft-long helicopter :)
