Report says U.S. spy agencies were 'dead wrong' about Iraq
rasmack replied to tkhayes's topic in Speakers Corner
What about the families (if any) of the 100.000 Iraqis killed as a concequence of the invasion? HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde... -

Disclaimer: I am obviously no instructor. Don't believe me If you really really need to stop a spin now there's always the delta position. Legs stretched, arms back and arch like hell. It has always gotten me stable within a second. The drawback however is that it will cost you altitude as it gets you into a steep dive. We are not hearing much (although too much) about these things. Mostly we are hearing about a bona fide murder mystery. It started with someone finding an arm and a leg lying in the street in the centre of Copenhagen. After a "thorough" search of the entire neighbourhood by the police, someone walking his dog found the rest of the body in a nearby street All the papers carried the picture of the head yesterday, to help identify this guy. They now know he was a taxi driver, and they are looking for an american and a Danish-speaking asian with whom he was last seen. Now that had nothing to do with Terri S, did it? EDIT: It turns out they just found the crime scene in a building more or less next to some of the body parts. Hooray for the Danish police and their definition of a "thorough" search. I am going to the Royal Theatre tonight right next to this. Who said Denmark was a dull place? US Supreme Court - is it Bound by the World Court?
rasmack replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
Ratifying a treaty would normally mean to put into law that it should be adherred to, so the only potential problem is if the two courts have different opinions on whether or not a particular case constitues a violation. Should this be the case, it cannot be so that a US court can rule on a matter between nations. This would be clearly absurd as the supreme court af the other nation would have the same right to an opinion. Thank you, oh thank you! There is no such thing as an established "truth" in science. There are only theories which have not yet been falsified. People looking for "truths" should turn to theology. People wanting an accurate description of the world had better learn the chain of theory, hypothesis and experiment. If you mean the motion of large quantities of car in the streets I can assure you that this topic has been covered in physics research (I know someone who did it ). It turns out that the model describing this motion also applies to getting cornflakes out of the package, or getting a stampeding crowd out of a shopping mall. My question to you is now. Where does this fit into "General Skydiving Discussions"

Photo taken in the exact instance before your hand hits the table. What a timing.

I did not do AFF, and I do not come from the US. I do not know anyone involved, but for all it is worth, you need to be absolutely clear about one thing. These people are training you to jump out of an airplane. Jumping out of airplanes is not a trivial thing. If you do not have absolute trust in your instructor, then the two of you have a problem. I do not know what happened in that class, and frankly it does not matter who was to blame. You need to be able to trust your instructor. End of story. More knowledgeable people than me have already posted suggestions. Please follow up on them. Do not make a jump with which you are not comfortable. As for the weather, try and see how many jumps I have gotten in one and a half years. I love jumping in Denmark HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...

Slightly off-topic, but I also read Angels and Demons. I happen to work at CERN quite often, and I can quite clearly state, that he has not been there. The money at CERN is spent building accelerators and detectors. It is not used on beautiful buildings

OK How many people does it take, before it makes sense? You seem to equate "American citizens" with "the American People". Your point of view is (if I read this correctly) that no single individual can be held personally responsible. Is there no such thing as collective responsibility? Do the United States of America not have to take responsibility for the actions of the people whom they send out? Will the prisoners at Abu Ghraib have to take their case to a civil court to be compensated, or does the Military share responsibility? I apologize that we seem to be stuck in this example. Please feel free to think up another. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...

Well, he insists it is a J3 and a Silhouette 230. He just says that his rigger told him, that "the sizes had changed, and that a present day J3K could not be compared to a 1990 J3". My rigger told me, that the reserve (Paraflite swift r35173) was a 5 cell 176 ft^2. Can anyone confirm this, based on that information? I am not going up with a reserve of that size. Anyway, that is what a court of law is there for. Deciding whether or not he was wrong in doing what he did. If it turns out he was wrong he is a criminal and should be punished, and no amount of discussion on these boards is going to change that fact. Beware of Kenny Ruetsch selling a Sabre 107
rasmack replied to JumpHog's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Just a stupid question. Is there any police station that would not take something like this very seriously? I believe that knowingly causing physical danger to other people is illegal in most places. When something is declared unairworthy by a rigger in Denmark he/she is required to clearly state this on the unit in question. I suppose this is the reason I sincerely hope noone gets hurt. On the way up to my first jump, I also felt like I needed to go. Strangely my instructor would not tell me the location of the toilet on the plane. I have later found out, that in our Cessna 206, the pilot is sitting on it HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...

Well, these few then represent you in looking after the interests of society as a whole to the best of their abilities... or at least that is the idea Very true, but I still think that we need to accept the fact that, like it or not, actions are taken on our behalf. Can I deny any moral responsibility for my government being a bunch of racist pigs? Can vou honestly say that you have no part in ? I think that none of us have a problem with accepting a part in things that go well. How do we relate to things that are less than favourable but are never the less consequences of actions taken in our name?
