Bla bla bla... As always, the answer is never to "bully" yourself through this. Find a way to do it where you have fun. That's what it is all about, right? I like your idea of trying out a different DZ. I always get a kick out of a new instructor. They always see something different. One more suggestion is to reduce the number of things you have to have in your head. There have been previous posts from people who have changed from AFF to SL. Maybe a few SL jumps might be fun. Who knows? Anyway, they're cheap So, chin up! Smile!

Uhm... can it be very hard to explain Alti2 that a good way of beating L&B is to have superior applications? I do not think so. Open source is the best way to go for a company of limited ressources. It reduces the problem from one of intense developement and testing to merely being one of coordination. Opening up the comm protocol might even enlist some (gasp) free (speech + beer) help on securing the upgrade function. I don't think anyone here is really interested in the inner workings of the speed calculation algorithm and its friends, but a solid communications toolkit would be interfaceable to any type GUI people could dream up. The possibility to dump ascii/xml/whatever files might make me buy a Neptune instead of my Pro Track. He knows where the radio goes. He knows the loading order. He does not, however, know the terminology of the harness ("back strap"?). I think you are expecting a bit much from a first time jumper. Visited a new DZ (Gruyeres, Switzerland) last weekend. Made a jump there with a tiny girl who really made me work to stay with her. Consequently I broke my first hour of free fall one jump earlier than expected. 67 seconds is a loong time for me. I know I am not the first to break one hour, but am I the first to do so with a burst appendix?

One important point is that in situations where one party is in a "position of authority" the age of consent is 21. This means that if I as a martial arts teacher is attracted to a student she has to be at least 21, or else... I think this is a good idea.
