  1. Speaking of pitiful, maybe you cultists can eventually come up with a theory that actually shows the Little Ice Age and the Medieval Warm Period. Until then, every time you mention man (or is that Mann?) - made climate change, I'm going to ask how we made the temperature rise on Mars and Titan. Please tell us how far back climate records go on Mars and Titan. Hitching your wagon to that horse makes you look even more desparate. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  2. What's your proposal? I doubt you'd like my proposal. Quade made a good one in another thread related to this round of mass shootings by nutters. I guess it surprises me that you defend the right of nutters to own guns, when they bring such discredit on gun owners in general. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  3. Objecting with righteous indignation when others do the exact same things you have done yourself is a sure indication of hypocrisy. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  4. I would make it MANDATORY in school.....it would produce children familiar with guns and what they can do and prevent a lot of accidents of children playing with them. How will this prevent a looney from offing a bunch of innocent people? how will this ensure people wash their hands after using a restroom? You're posting in the wrong thread. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  5. Exactly the attitude I'd expect from a Neo-Con. I bet you're proud of yourself. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  6. Pretty sure you really don't wanna know, but it includes licensing. I really do want to know, and I'm really curious what sort of licensing is going to completely prevent "mentally disturbed" people from obtaining guns. I'm also curious which "mentally disturbed" people would not be allowed to have guns and who would get to decide this. Why does it have to be "completely prevent" or nothing? What's wrong with a solution that would prevent, say 75% of mass shootings? Why is that not better than the present BROKEN system? If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  7. Let's see, the Justice Department has now asked the judge to throw out the conviction and the judge is asking for the case paper to investigate misconduct of the lawyers who went after Stevens. Hmmm, seems mabe this was a poitical trial to affect vote outcomes and not a criminal trial? If true (and I dont say anybody knows yet) can you really say the election should be left to stand? I only wonder at this point but, on both sides, this political game is very very dangerous Why would Bush's Dept. of Justice want to go after Stevens for political reasons? Never ascribe to malice that which can be adequately explained by incompetence: Napoleon Bonaparte. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  8. I would make it MANDATORY in school.....it would produce children familiar with guns and what they can do and prevent a lot of accidents of children playing with them. How will this prevent a looney from offing a bunch of innocent people? If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  9. It's pitiful to watch the way you deniers have had to change your tune from "It's not happening" to "it ended in 1998" to "OK, it's happening but it's nothing to do with us". Pitiful! If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  10. Estimates don't show anything. Don't confuse estimates with data. Seeing as how some of those estimates come from FBI data, I think I'll take their word for it over your opinion, thanks. And the DoJ estimates that well over 300,000 guns pass from "law abiding citizens" to criminals every year, and that is even before straw purchases are taken into account. Seems like a double edged sword, doesn't it? If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  11. Credibility is beside the point - you're citing an opinion piece. All the neo-cons have these days are opinions so they posture it as fact. Fortunately it only seems to be the 20%ers who buy into it. Credibility is so alien a concept to neo-cons they can't even spell it. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  12. And your conclusion means what action should be taken? Perhaps actual prosecutions for violations would be a start? Tell us how rigorous the background check into the mental health of a gun buyer is. Only after you tell me how many of the hundreds of thousands of felons that the Brady check stops from buying a gun are actually prosecuted for it. And then I'll ask the question you all ignore - are you willing to give up the privacy granted by HIPPA? Afraid the answer to her question will be embarrassing? If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  13. It's that it most cases a gun is so easily at hand. What would lead to a fist fight in most of the world leads to a shooting here. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  14. Estimates don't show anything. Don't confuse estimates with data. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  15. I see you do understand why you believe what you do......... ? No-one can understand why you believe what you do, or why you post it. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  16. I guess it's lucky for them that most of their intended targets are made gun free zones. The Oakland and Pittsburgh mass shootings were not in gun free zones. Just the opposite, the cops were well armed. But continue to delude yourself that more guns makes you safer. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  17. www.reuters.com/article/latestCrisis/idUSN03361051 Good job GW ended in 1998 isn't it, Mr Rush? If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  18. No money for nothing or chicks for free? No custom kitchens, refrigerators, microwave ovens? If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  19. Then tell them - educate them. They need to know what their tax dollars are supporting Karzai isn't our friend. He may possibly be the enemy of our enemy. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  20. A bad man with a gun used it to take lives. Good men with guns arrived, ending the shooting spree, saving lives. What should you conclude from this? That we should do a far better job of ensuring that only good men get guns. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  21. That all depends on the problem perceived. The problem in my mind when I read the article is the Obama Administration is lying. Especially when AG Holder cites this 90% myth when discussing a second AWB. . I hope you read Nerdgirl's post. Seems that the Bush administration "lied" too. Then again, it could be misrepresentation by your side. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  22. It's interesting to note the failure of SOX to prevent some of these failures. Would that be Boston or Chicago SOX? If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  23. Bullcrap. The trace goes from the manufacturer, to the distributor, to the gun shop who looks it up in their bound book. If it came up negative on a trace, it wasn't sold in the U.S. and it came from somewhere else. Aren't you the guy who told us a few years back that you know nothing about statistics? Nice of you to offer an "expert" opinion on the meaning of the data. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  24. Nonsense, as I've learned by so many of the "right thinking" people on this website who are, Oh so much smarter than the rest of us - just ask them - is that having a bunch of EXTRA rules in place designated by (whoever) - ALWAYS makes things safer. You must be wrong. More regulation is always the answer. Your cynicism aside, I suggest extra rules are EXACTLY what we need in the financial services industry. Deregulation is what brought us to the current fiasco. And our skydiving rules (BSR) and most of the FARs are written in blood. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
  25. would prevail further if the prosecution team suffered for their misconduct. There's always the possibility they might be brought up on disciplinary charges if their misconduct was willful and egregious enough. Remember, the prosecutor who fucked-over the Duke athletes was eventually disbarred for it. How often does something like that happen? Only in high profile cases, I bet. If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.
