  1. So it's all the U.N.s fault? I thought jewish terrorists forced its creation with the help of a rather violent terrorist campaign. Should the U.N. have refused to recognize them? Was the responsive declaration of war by xenophobic neighboring dictatorships justified? Who really created the refugee problem there? These and more questions will be answered by confusingly misused acronyms.
  2. Speak for yourself, and if you think you deserve it go right ahead, what's stopping you?
  3. I prefer: Overcoming the Enemy Within Just a suggestion.
  4. You might wanna wait on the card purchase at least until 8600 hits the shelves. Don't you have an older card you can slip in for now? Or go way down market and get a bargain bin card, seems a waste to aim that high for something you know you're throwing away soon.
  5. The CA proposal applies to kids under 3 years old or maybe it's 3 and under.
  6. From your description it seems likely that your HDMI cable is not seated correctly, it is digital and a pin or two not connecting right can lose you a lot of quality and make it look worse than 16 bit. Test with the analog output just to confirm you have a high quality desktop, then try reseating the HDMI, if it doesn't work try a different cable.

Rubbish, I could say similar silly things, like, companies don't make a profit, it is immediately passed onto the consumer. Or companies never go broke because they can charge whatever they like. What determines price in the market is a complex thing and depends on the business, but taxes are not directly linked to price. Companies who try to maximize profit (and most aspire to) cannot pass a tax hike to the customer, they must look at the impact of price on demand and optimize their volume * margins.
  8. I used to prefer the AMDs too, the last system I built was AMD based. If you go that route the mobo would need t be compatible with the new chip, and frankly Intel has the better value right now, AMD used to be a big winner on price performance but not anymore IMHO. Intel has the quad core chips too so there's your upgrade path IMHO. Just make sure the mobo can handle it. Remember though the OS has to support those chips (normally XP license is capped at 2 I think), I dunno if they'll make an exception for quad core chips, hyperthreading initially caused them licensing issues and quad core chips might raise similar issues. If you're running linux then you needn't worry about it. Brand loyalty is your option, I just don't see the point when buying computer chips from a choice of 2 great companies.
  9. I'm in. Gotta laugh at people posting how thin they are in this thread & so the loss contest is unfair. You have just under 2 weeks before the start, get eating. Or you could get ripped instead for the challenge. I'm sure you could improve a lot on whateer you've got if you are in any way elligible for this.
  10. I've done that, I had other business there anyway, but she flew in to rendezvous, I got her the ticket
  11. I second that. Core2 is the new top dog by a significant margin and Intel finally got their pricing right. 2GB is the obvious choice for RAM. Investing in an SLI PSU and mobo suggests you're big on graphics. 7950GT isn't a bad choice but consider an 8000 series if you can stretch to that. NVIDIA partners are launching 8600 & 8300 series cards right about now, dunno if they'll be SLI (I expect some will). Either way this may be a suboptimal time to buy a 7 series card because they'll come down once the 8k product line is fleshed out. http://www.nordichardware.com/news,5442.html Pricing on the 320MB 8800 GTS isn't too shabby either, but I expect you'll want the video ram going forward.
  12. This highlights the naked obstructionism of the Democrats on this issue. Playing politics with troop reinforcements. http://www.washingtontimes.com/national/inbeltway.htm

  16. Cruise missiles are not difficult to make, Nazis made them at the beginning of WWII, and the tricky part then was the guidance system, made trivial by modern technology. It would not take U.S. technology for any of these countries to make cruise missiles. And they'd be cheaper than the US versions. Of course the Japanese had the ultimate cruise missile guiance system and we've already seen 19 of that make & model used in this conflict, guiding 3 out of 4 weapons onto target.
  17. Not available yet. I've heard that once it is a retrofit would be too involved and won't be available.
  18. Wait a second, in the red highlighted test he said: Duh what part of that did you miss? He goes on: There's not an educated scientist who wouldn't agree with that, the first part is still a research topic and the second part is self evident since man was not even around during those fluctuations. And you said: Which is absolutely incorrect and there's not a scientist who would agree with you. How dare you accuse this guy of being on the take, he's made very measured remarks, that are actually irrefutable if you stop for a second and think. Your response exemplifies the knee jerk lynch mob attitude towards scientists who don't agree with your political agenda (and individuals treated even worse in public discourse through this groupthink). Take a breath and digest what the guy is saying for goodness sake.
  19. ... when you elect fucking idiots to the legislature, the bench and the AG's office: http://freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070115/COL04/701150333 Particularly troubling is the way these bozos dismiss the applicability of the law to the AG's offense. Must be bloody easy when you're in charge calling the shots about who gets prosecuted for what.
  20. Some republican spokes-holes have been slamming McCain for years as a rino on all sorts of issues, it would be entertaining to watch the volte-face. He might do it but I don't think it would be a slam dunk.
  21. No, it's the one where they deliberately flatline each other as an experiment then their life's transgressions manifest themselves in life as a kind of haunting. They must atone for their sins to stop the terror, unfortunately for the main character, the person he must atone to is already dead. You can predict what happens next so I'll leave you to write the ending.
  22. I didn't design it, but hey there are plenty of fields in the world and with many ethnicities, pick one and go there, have a ball.

I think you have to shut it down at the source, the problem is not at the tip of the tentacle, it's in the centers of learning and dissemination. You either transform the message at it's source or you eliminate it. That is something we are poorly equipped as a society to accept as a solution. Even if you did the time to have acted was a few decades ago. This problem has metastasized beyond the point of even difficult solutions.
