Sounds like a Kenny Loggins song. Dave Loggins is probably used to that by now. The royalty cheques know where to go. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

I would have thought that too. But checking on Ebay they seem to be fetching up to $200. So sell it there because it won't be worth anything to a skydiver. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Yes, just belonging is not going to cause him any real problem. If he has beliefs that line up strongly with that group there will likely be a public record of him supporting those positions. It not like he has been hiding under a rug for decades and just popped up. I've never heard of him till now, but he has been a public figure and will have a public record to be scrutinized. Whoever told you that the Solo 2 is junk is just plain wrong. Except in that they are all rather junky for the money you pay. Really, at that price point they should have much more solid metal cases. But none of them do. Solo 2 does only one job. Three altitude alert presets. That's why I use them. I only need them for one job and that makes them simpler to operate. And they are just about perfect for someone starting out. If that is what you need then that is what you should buy. Don't be swayed by haters that tell you you need more functions. They are all very similar and L&B has a pretty good rep in the business. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

President Trump saving jobs, and not even in office yet!
gowlerk replied to jgoose71's topic in Speakers Corner
UTC did not change their minds because of incentives from the city or state. They caved because they are a large defense contractor and they want to continue doing 6 billion a year with the feds. It's not a good time for a corporation in their position to fight over this. If Carrier were not part of this group and instead an independent company they would have moved the production. Their parent is making them do what is good for UTC instead of what is good for their Carrier unit. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. If their solution makes insurance less available to people they will pay a cost in two years. Trump is unpredictable, we will just have to wait and see. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

When Medicare (single payer) came to Canada in the 60s it was a huge fight. Many doctors and others went out of their minds with anger. Today it is accepted and recognized that it has problems, but few if any would like to go to your system. Medical care keeps getting more and more advanced. And at the cutting edge the costs are extreme. In both countries, not everyone can get the best of everything. Decisions about cost that have a huge effect on peoples lives get made every day. I also can see no way that America can go single payer under your political system. But small steps toward better access for all will occur. The ACA was an improvement, but certainly not the final answer. I believe that in the end the Trump/Pence/Ryan regime will do something that goes at least a small way to making it better. Even though they are conservatives. Why? Because the weaknesses built into the ACA will make it a necessity. And the realities of politics will make it all but impossible to just go back to the 2008 situation. It will be easier for the new team to pass what they want then it was for Obama to get what he wanted past the Congress. The Dems had a majority, but part of it was a chicken shit majority. They wimped out and got creamed in the mid-terms anyway. They deserved it, they blew their chance. But who knows? Few believed Trump could become POTUS. At least he is not locked into an ideology. He may decide it's important to do the right thing. And he may be strong enough to force it through. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Are you still crying about Jimmy Carter? How about FDR? Are you going to start the right wing whine about the New Deal as well? Your health care debacle is caused by your health care insurance industry. And small minded right-wingers who oppose basic human services that every other rich western nation has. Actually the crybabies are on the left.... http://www.cnn.com/2016/11/30/politics/banerian-death-threats-cnntv/index.html What are you talking about? That's a story about a crybaby Republican elector complaining that he is frightened to do his job because "lefties are scaring me". He is probably full of shit, he has offered no proof. If he was really getting death threats the police would get involved. They just keep on whining.... Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Prostitution is also a very risky profession. Be sure to thank the next streetwalker you see for his or her service. Seriously though, people choose or sometimes fall into jobs for all kinds of reasons. Some of their motives are laudable, and sometimes less so. I'm inclined to give people who serve the benefit of the doubt and I will almost always assume at least some good motives. But I also know that there are outliers in the military and police etc.. Just like in every other job. Burning flags? I'm with the camp that finds it a little off putting. But I would never consider making it a punishable offense. I don't want to live in that sort of place. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

President Trump saving jobs, and not even in office yet!
gowlerk replied to jgoose71's topic in Speakers Corner
Owned by UTC, same as Pratt and Whitney. This kind of pressure is definitely not business as usual. This is hardball. UTC will be expecting something, and the Mexicans are going to be pissed. But those are just the kind of jobs everyone hates to lose and without Trump they would have been gone. You can not deny that. Sort of like keeping those pesky people in a ghetto. Not a physical one, but an artificial mythical one. But 2020 will be another census year. The cycle may change. Then you will hear howls from the crybaby right. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

I keep hearing that the average American actually voted for someone else. Not that it matters in that system. But many of the ACA exchange purchasers are pretty intelligent self employed people. The ones who likely don't understand deductibles don't need to because they are on medicaid. It must suck to live in a place where you have to carefully consider your health insurance before thinking of changing jobs. Or becoming self employed. That whole business must be terribly stifling to innovation. And I can not even begin to imagine the strain it must put on small business trying to provide insurance. 2-piece / detachable slider for general canopy
gowlerk replied to RichyR's topic in Gear and Rigging
Could be interesting. A Sabre 2 150 slider is 31x23 inches. The split slider I have is 24X17. You could be a test jumper! But I would not, because I would expect a snappy opening could be an early result of the test program. The slider you have is a pretty standard PD size. It goes on all Sabre 2s from 170 down. It's the same size that is used on many of their canopies. Seriously, I advise you to abandon the whole idea and just learn to get along with the stock slider. Pulling a slider down always brings risks. Not only premature brake release, but issues with distraction from the task of flying safely as well. And visibility problems when you try to see behind you. That said, I am one of those who nearly always pulls them down. You need to be careful and watch while you are doing it so you do not pop your brakes. Or catch your fingers in the loop of excess line. Or you could just collapse it and leave it up. Install the slider hats on your risers if you plan to do this. At least you have learned about split sliders. They are usually a CRW, I mean CF tool. I'm attaching a couple pictures so you can see what it looks like. One from the top and one from the bottom. You just pull on the line running through the centre to split the slider apart. It takes a minute or so at packing time to reassemble it. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -

Trump refusing his daily intelligence briefings
gowlerk replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
Trumps latest tweets from last night have him saying for the first time that he intends to treat being POTUS as a full time job. Maybe he is beginning to see just what lies ahead for him. I'm not sure if this is good news or bad. But I'm leaning toward good. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
You can find examples on both sides. But the leaders of the right engage in angry rhetoric as a standard. They know how to whip the rabble up to a frenzy and they do it all the time. There is no left wing equivalent to right wing talk show media. It was tried, but they couldn't make it work. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms.
