    I think the risk of damage is too high, without benefit. I also think the backpad location that some rigs use is more vulnerable to damage than the yoke location. AADs used to always be visible until CYPRES. One of the selling points they originally used was how discreet it was. In other words your cool friends would not know you were using a device that only students used. Unless you told them. Times have changed. The only reason now to put it around back is to force users to look at their reserve pin once in a while. And even that is often thwarted by placing it on the back pad.     That was back before intellectuals (i.e. those clueless ivory-tower elites) became the enemy of the right. Now it's the party of Trump, Sarah Palin, GW Bush and Joe the Plumber. That's the difference between "right wing" and conservative. The right wing is going to spend the next 4 years defending their guy no matter what. All the while he will be violating all or at least most of what they claim are their principles. But he is their guy because he brings them power. Conservatives on the other hand are quietly going about the business of reclaiming the R party and working to keep it from being ruined.     Now that Vlad and Don have the levers of power in their sight what will be the next move? Russia and America have been allies before, and it can happen again. If Stalin can do it surely Putin can as well. All they need is a good mutual enemy. Where do you suppose they can find one? Only two choices. The Muslim world, or China. Germany is busy trying to hold Europe together. Great Presidents do great things. And there is nothing greater for leaving a mark in history then a great war. Maybe it would be best for the world if the Taiwan retook it's place as the natural ruler of China. With the right team it could be done.     Voters have not had a chance to vote on these issues. Ever. They may be smarter than you think. With age comes wisdom I've heard. Then dementia later on, but that's another story.     In exchange for the government regulation we don't like, we get government recognition of skydiving as an aviation activity. Without that recognition, airspace would be hard to come by. -Mark That's not the situation in Canada. We do not have regulation, other than demos. But we do have access and recognition as a legitimate air activity at appropriate airfields. Only our aircraft operations are commercially regulated.     Very nice recruiting video. It will probably lead to at least a dozen more deaths. Seriously, I admire the skill and nerve and hard work. There used to be an ethos, or code in BASE. You didn't talk about it much, and you never encouraged others. Now in the new Hero era we have videos where men talk about how they used to be awkward young guys, but thanks to their great new sport they are just too cool for words.
