Wow. Talk about cutting through to the heart of the matter. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

I'm a little reluctant here, being a none military foreigner and all. I have nothing to say about the VA hospital system. Except to wonder, why is it necessary to have a separate system for veterans? Why can't the wonderful US health care industry take care of this demographic? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

That's less than 2 tank cars worth. Only a small fraction of the amount of North Dakota oil that incinerated the small town in Quebec. Oil will move somehow. Pipelines are the safest way. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

The thing is a little unfair. Trump's fans are the little people. They take up a little less space. Why is everyone always putting down the little people? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

I would have been surprised if there was not an increase in support after that speech. There is a definite audience for the "America first/Fortress America message. However, that moment has already been eclipsed by the steady stream of mis-steps and bad feelings pouring out of the White House. Breitbart's reporting on Trump's ratings is meaningless. As I'm sure you know. It is the same as Trump reporting on himself. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Yes, I was one of those who thought so. Replacing Trump, if it happens, will be a two edged sword. The sooner it happens the better off your country will be, if it must happen. But it will take a true crisis to bring it about. If it happens it will be very messy and even more divisive than his election. I believe it would be better if he succeeds. Some of the changes he is talking about could be positives if they were implemented with care and in a rational way. But they require skilled leadership. And it is starting to look like there is no chance that the man is capable of providing it. Or standing back and relying on subordinates to make up for some of his shortcomings. But that is not the point. It's the way the man is so unhinged over this that is so telling. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Yes, yes and yes. If you Google sous vide recipes, a lot of them are for fish Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Yes, somewhat less excited here in Winnipeg though. Our largest energy use days come in the winter season when the days are short and the sun angle is low. We do see a lot of hours of daylight, but not when we need it most. But we do have a lot of hydro power and some of the cheapest electric power rates anywhere. We've been trying to sell some into the northern states. But natural gas generation is getting harder to compete against on price when the capitol and transmission costs are added in. Why didn't you say so? That makes it OK. It sound like he was part of the group dressed in black and rioting on inauguration day. They belong in jail for their actions. They represent only a fringe part of the opposition. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
After reading and following this story I am beginning to think that Trump's presidency is going to be far worse that I, or most of us imagined. It is becoming more and more clear that the "elites" were correct about the man. I had assumed that it was mostly an act. Because somehow he did actually build a business empire. And how could he have done that if he was crazy? His shortcomings are already obvious. The damage he will do is unknown, as is the end game. But it looks unlikely to go on for four years. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

And you seem to think that he will magically turn the energy and economic scene around by slashing regulations. Only positives and no negatives. That is how we each perceive the other. Trump will play us against each other. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Maybe there will be a slave economy, with robots as slaves. Everyone get a number of slave robots and puts them to work earning a living? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

I don't know Jerry. But I would think that if Ryan sees a chance to dump Trump and get Pence instead he'll be on it, like yesterday. Trump's enemy list is at least 5 times the size of his friend list. And a lot of his enemies are very powerful. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. I saw that. But I don't consider any of them to be subsidies designed to promote or support the petroleum industry. They all have other, larger aims. And they are all US examples, so they don't fit the "world's government" claims. So if you don't have examples, I'll ask if anyone else here does. I suspect that there are no real subsidies at all. Just perceived ones. In reality this industry is a huge source of government revenue through a myriad of taxes and royalties. This question is for you Brent. The article says: I keep hearing claims like this all the time. But they never give examples of these subsidies. Are there any, or is this just pure bullshit? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
-
Yes, that article is written in a way that puts the worst of all possibilities out in front and then makes you dig down for the qualifiers. As I read it he says that if all of the Canadian deposits plus similar American deposits were burnt it would raise the CO2 levels to 500ppm and bring on this scenario. Poorly written, but it does not make the claims that brenthutch says it does. But nonetheless it is a use of scare tactics and not a good way to convince anyone. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Could you possibly link to where he said that so that we can see it in context? It looks like a description of the possible worse case scenario outcome of climate change. Not like the outcome of one project. It is just as wrong to use his words this way as it would be wrong for him to claim that. No one advances their argument in any significant way when they engage in extreme hyperbole. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

The Dakota pipeline is already built except for the Missouri River crossing. And a large portion of Keystone is built as well. Neither will result in the wonderous new era of boom times you have been touting. They are both good things that will reduce transportation risk and increase profit levels. But they won't lower prices for consumers. Not even a little. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
-
I just don't see the thousands of jobs and lower prices coming from any "slight relaxing of overburdensome regulations." There are not that many restrictions on production, and even on consumption only coal has been seriously impacted, and it would be down anyway. BTW, I hold shares in both Exxon and BP. Because I like dividend stocks and I don't see an end to the petroleum industry anytime soon. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
-
So, does that mean to say that you are so blind that you can not see the extra costs (drain) of resource extraction? Do you think that only oil patch and coal mining jobs count, and that renewables don't bring employment? Of course thinking outside of a narrow ideological viewpoint is not your strong suit. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

People with no income to house and feed themselves will find something to do. It may very well be something illegal. Which will fit right into the current American system of a huge prison industry. It could provide employment and enforcement. I have no real answer. But I do think there will still be service jobs of some kind. And that minimum wage laws could be part of the answer. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

The recent reductions in the cost per bbl of tight oil extraction would seem to have several causes. Firstly, the most expensive sites have been abandoned of now. Secondly, the companies that service the wells and do the work are all scrambling for contracts and are bidding lower. And thirdly, experience is teaching them how to raise the yield at a lower cost. It's not like the price is going to just keep falling. Supply and demand is affecting the cost structure as well. But the short story is that the world is now in an era of sufficient or even plentiful supply and declining demand. Despite the new regime oil pricing will remain a global, and not a national matter.
