Trump is completely incapable of telling the truth. He is bound to lie and everyone knows it. Including him. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

In the late fall, after the elections, Mueller's report will come out. Or more accurately it will leak out. Russian "collusion" will be only a side show. The main point will be Trump's financial crimes involving money laundering. Then there will be a fight over impeachment. God only knows how that will come out. I hope he stays in office and finishes his term. A crippled Pence would be even worse. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

That's because DZs are businesses. And the owners of them like it that way. Go ahead, start your own business. Others have done it. There are non affiliated DZs out there. No one is forcing you to buy a membership. But that is part of the terms decided on by the people with real skin in the game. They don't do for you. They do it because they feel it's best for them.

The point is not to insult you. The real thing I'm saying is that it's easy to criticize. It's not so easy to make skydiving happen for us. You made a big point of saying USPA is useless to it's members. I'm not going to refute all the things that you brought up about gear makers being influential. They deserve to be. They make it happen, like DZOs make it happen. Skydiving and gear both keep getting better and better every year. USPA is a big part of that.
-
The people who have a real stake in skydiving are the same people who make it happen for you. Without them you would have no place to jump. So, go ahead and complain. It’s easy and it’s your right. It’s also completely meaninglessness because the people who matter support USPA.

There are lofts that will refuse any reserves that old. If you run across that problem walk away from them and find a real rigger.

Almost no one starts out with CF as their main discipline. I'm betting you did not.

Fer cryin' out loud people. I've jumped at a Canadian DZ with one 182 for many years. We have pretty much the same or higher standards for FS endorsements and CoPs. We have never had any problem getting enough 4 way FS jumps for our people to qualify to the international standard. And you won't either.

You probably have a Vector. It uses no hardware at all to attach the bridle to the bag. But they are the only ones I've seen that can do so.
-
Yes. I just looked it up. it's in the NexGen manual.
-
Yup, it's an eight hour drive from where I live to the nearest Caravan DZ. 10 hours to an Otter. 14 hours to a tunnel. You don't know how lucky you are.
-
I have some sympathy for the desire to use a Slink. However, not once in any manual have I ever seen one used. I don't remember running across any in the field here in the wilds of Manitoba either. For whatever that's worth. I'm thinking of looking for some of those split rings like RI uses though. And I sewed one Javelin style recently.

If the Dotard was a participating member of this group I would not do so. For the same reason I don't call you names. Like Dotard, or idiot, or moron. The poster I was replying to was calling other forum members these names. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Your poor quality name calling anger will not really be missed if you stayed away for 18 years. You could do better if you wanted to. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Despite your obviously angry rant, people like Rob are not brain washed. More likely you are brain washed into thinking that a society gains instead of loses by have more killing machines in it. Just because people want gun control does not make them "sheeple". It makes them leaders in the fight against the madness of gun obsession that has overtaken large parts of American society. Your name calling outburst is a perfect example. The source of the particular weapon used is irrelevant to both the incident and to Rob's post. American gun culture is influencing some people here. But it will be strongly resisted by most of Canadian society because like most of the world we are not gun crazed idiots here. I understand conservatism and right wing thinking. I even agree with some of it to a certain degree. I also understand how easy it is for some conservatives to fear and loath the change that progress sometimes brings. But I do not understand how someone can be so unprincipled as to support Trump. No objective look at his behavior can possibly lead to that. The ends do not justify the means in this case. To think otherwise is.....deplorable. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

He probably is not going to answer. Last Login: Dec 14, 2013, 9:23 PM But hopefully someone else will help you.

Sorry your Zebra F-301 doesn’t work well for you. Please see the picture of mine.

Longest anyone's gone without a cutaway?
gowlerk replied to Westerly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I couldn't disagree more with your last statement. Particularly when considering the first sentence. You are basically saying that a torn canopy is not a reason to cut away. What the hell? I understand that with a Zero loaded at 0.77 a rip on a cell is survivable. Now, imagine a novice jumper with a regular canopy reading this, being afraid of cutting away, and having a torn canopy. Does it sound like reasonable advice to you? I can't believe an instructor wrote that. ? It depends. I've torn 3 tandem canopies, landed all 3 of them. Maybe your DZ trains differently, but we train new jumpers to do a controllability check. If it's steerable and safely landable, why cut it away? A tear doesn't automatically mean a cutaway is required, but many times it is necessary. Depends on many factors. Most torn canopies are landable and get landed safely. You will not even know you have a torn canopy unless it happens to be a large tear on the bottom skin. You can't see torn ribs or a torn topskin. That's why controllability checks are needed on every jump. -
Exactly. Paper is fragile, Tyvec is strong and long lasting. Yes, cheap ball point pens have a hard time writing on on it. So what? A decent pen can be had for about $3. So find something real to complain about and get back to packing and sewing!

Thanks Rob Do you happen to know if Accuracy canopies use slats and flaps as do the latest iteration of Base canopies? Info on PD's accuracy canopy-- http://www.performancedesigns.com/products/zero/ At the bottom of the page there are links to quite a bit of general accuracy info and sites.

We have our very own culture problems, thanks. The supply of illegal handguns in Canada is mostly a smuggling problem. We only have one border, so you can probably guess where the guns come from. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

I guess because the only thing he contributes to this forum is the absolute perfection of his hypocrisy. There, that's better! Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
