Navigators are not short lived. They are very well built and designed for long life as student canopies. The reason ZP lasts longer is that it does not become porous over its lifetime. Non-coated fabrics do. Making the ribs and bottom skin from non coated fabric is a compromise. It allows for lower bulk while at the same time the zp fabric on the more important topskin allows for better performance. Sabre 2 is available as large as 260. So are Silhouettes, which are also hybrid construction. Navigators have Dacron lines and extra reinforcement for their role a student canopies. That makes them bulkier than other hybrids.

Basically going to jail for doing what Trump ordered him to do. Meanwhile "Mr. Big" goes free because he is POTUS. Love American justice. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Pelosi didn't goad him or publicize it. Schumer goaded him. Nobody "publicized" it specifically, it was all on camera. Pelosi actually tried to stop it in the beginning by asking not to have the debate on camera. The video is easily available. So, I just watched the video. It was a pretty painful waste of time. But I see you are correct. I don't know why Wendy is pissed off at Pelosi over this. She must be getting incorrect information from somewhere. Or she is actually angry about Pelosi's later comments in a different meeting insulting Trump's "manhood". That could be seen as goading. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

I took it as a preventative action. When the shutdown comes Trump will want to blame it on Pelosi. And she knows that. She just made it pretty hard for him to carry it off now. Pelosi plays hardball politics almost as well as the senate Majority Leader. He makes both her and Paul Ryan look pale by comparison. Mainly because she's a woman. Not that that's the primary reason, but that's the easiest avenue for them to take. Note that Iago talked about her like one would talk to a dog. Such minimization and dehumanization will play a big part in the right's attacks on her. She'll be called a clueless girl, compared to a dog, told she can't handle it, told that she is "hysterical" when she disagrees etc. Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) : “You look at this girl, Ocasio-Cortez or whatever she is . . ." Have you ever heard of a male congress critter being called a "boy"? If so I'd bet he was dark skinned. People often show their prejudices by their choice of words. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

That would be a start. But its only a matter of time till someone uses the wrong risers on it. Skydivers can be very creative.

True. He's not a felon yet. He's an unindicted co-conspirator for now. That's your man Marc. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

trump, Trade, China, Canada, Rule of Law, or Payback

I think we have to play the game with the cards we've been dealt. They are two separate matters as far as we are being told. For now. On a gut level I think "Fuck the USA and Trump's backing out of the Iran deal." The world needs to find a way to trim the abuse of power the US is doing on this. I did not vote before I posted and now I can't. For the record I chose options 1,3,and 5. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
No Collins Lanyard? I'm not going to pretend to be smart enough to judge if this system is safe and effective or not. But it could be. Unless of course you have a riser break on the RSL side. In which case you will probably die without a Collins Lanyard. I know, riser breaks are no longer very common. But why take a chance?

Supposedly all men are equal under the law. What he was fined for was basically committing fraud. He cost some people a lot of money. And he was cut an enormous amount of slack in the end. I'm ok with that. Now he should shut up and stop complaining about having to follow the rules.
-
I’d be careful with that. If I had one I would probably pull a muscle.

In a discussion with an employee of the US Patent Office earlier this year, he informed me that the patent on the Collin's Lanyard would expire in Sept of this year. Jerry Baumchen That could be good news. I've yet to hear of anyone taking advantage of that though. The only non licensed Collins lanyard I've yet to see is the one I made and installed on an Eclipse tandem a few years ago.

Since you are just starting this rigging thingy I will just start with the most solid argument out there. The manufacturers instructions. Period. Don't try to out think them. They have been around for a long time and have forgotten more things than you or I will ever know. Now, my opinions. And they are nothing more than that. And worth every cent I'm charging. The original three ring patent was made before RSLs were a factor. So they are not all that relevant in this matter. With an RSL it is important that side riser not be released before the other side. I'm pretty sure you understand why. Having the RSL side release later by making the cable longer helps to lessen, but not eliminate the chances of an RSL reserve deployment into a still attached main. A Collins Lanyard mostly is there to eliminate the same disaster, but from a different cause. Namely a broken riser. With a MARD system a partial cutaway on the RSL side only will result in near certain death. For that reason I will never recommend or use a MARD that does not employ a Collins Lanyard. And yes, at the current time that means Skyhooks only as far as I'm concerned. But a Collins Lanyard can easily be mis-routed. Especially in the field when a user is changing a canopy or even just cleaning the cable. For that reason it is better to be safe and leave the RSL side cable longer. Like the manufacturer says in the manual. As a rigger you should do your best to understand the system. But you don't need to absolutely understand the reasons for every instruction. YOU DO NEED TO FOLLOW THEM.

America is not alone in its current infatuation with right of centre and nationalist politics. This is very similar to the politics of Russia. The big difference is that in America the system, and especially the First Amendment keeps strong man leaders from seizing absolute control. Yes, there is strong lean to the right from even the supposed left party. This is because of the success of conservative ideas and tactics in the marketplace of ideas. To say otherwise is to ignore the obvious. The nationalist, ethno-centric aspect of this has strong resistance in society. But in a two party system people have to go somewhere, and there are only two choices if you want to have a share of power. It's too bad, but the fiscal conservatives, and the right wing nationalists, and the religious fundamentalists have all gotten into one big bed with each other. And this three way orgy has birthed the modern day child called the Trump Republican Party. Ocasio-Cortez and others will have to convince a few more percentage points of the population that they are not scary socialist disrupters before they can toss this unholy alliance from the levers of power. They don't have that far to go judging by recent election numbers. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Musk is beginning to sound and act like a he has "superstar syndrome". You know, like the rules are for the little people. I'm special they are not for me. Its pretty common among people who have large numbers of admirers, to the point where it becomes worship. Musk definitely has this status. https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/09/business/elon-musk-sec-twitter/index.html

Not where I jump. But we have an IAD program out of a 182. We require some of those. Many DZs don't have a static line or IAD program anymore and they will usually require a tandem first jump as part of the program. But it is not a rule over here. There are programs that start with AFF jumps, usually involving tunnel training as well. It mostly depends on what aircraft, equipment, and instructors any given DZ has available.
-
Opinion? Too much work. I'll keep doing what the text says: Someone may have developed this method to ensure that the lead seal can not get caught in the grommet.
-
I see you are in Montreal. The best DZs with the largest student training programs in Canada are on the south shore. Different DZs have different training programs and first jump methods. But it is not unusual for someone to do their first 2 jumps on the same day. Often these days a first jump is a tandem. Some programs follow with further tandems, others with PFF or AFF jumps. Either way, some ground training will follow your first tandem, and that will take some time. It may not leave enough time in the day for your second jump. Whatever you do, it is best to do the jumps and get the training without any long breaks between jumps. It will be easier to progress that way. Staying current is very important. Over half of the A CoPs issued in Canada go to Quebec trained jumpers. The Montreal area is home to many highly skilled competitors and instructors.

I don't really know how long that three ring circus has been running for. But I do know that one party has been showing the other party just how draw the suckers in for a few years now. I'm sure the lessons learned are now going to be applied by the students upon the teachers. Come inside, the show's about to start Guaranteed to blow your head apart! Yes, USD retail pricing is $379. Tax will depend on where you buy it. Online shipped you can pay no tax. But make sure you buy the right health insurance if you are American., or visiting to jump. Just sayin'..... I guess the point is that you can't really blame Cookie for any of that.

Not completely true. Obama had the huge advantage of a middle American family who taught him about values and morality. Trump on the other hand was taught to lie cheat and steal by his father. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
