Unlike Tesla’s Autopilot semi automation driver assistance system, users of Super Cruise do not need to have their hands on the wheel. However, their eyes must remain directed straight ahead. Systems that need to monitor drivers to make sure they are paying attention are major accidents waiting to happen. The human mind does not work that way. Edit, I just noticed that the GM map of "another 70,000 miles of compatible divided highways in the United States and Canada." Includes 100s of miles of Canadian highways that I can assure you are neither divided, nor compatible.

Your premise is both ridiculous and not what I said. There are in America as in the rest of the world a percentage of people who see outsiders as a threat. Trump did everything he could to tap into that fear to drive support. Trump represents, and appeals to, the worst of both America and humanity.

Yup, not all roadways. Just major ones. And that gets into why I believe that fully autonomous vehicles are both far into the future and will be limited in scope. They will work best and most efficiently when on a support grid. The economics will favour the use of "driverless" vehicles on fixed routes long before full AVs are practical.

Eventually they will have support from sensors and signals built into the roadway. All this talk of "neural networks" to me means that each unit will be part of a network and will supply data into it to be shared. I know that is not what the engineers here are speaking of. Humans drive faster than the distance they can see on a fairly regular basis. With predictable results on occasion.

I think we both agree that smoking is bad for your lungs. My only point is that cigarette smoking is worse. If a person can only quit one, quit tobacco first. If you still need to get high? Consider switching to edibles.

I didn't say it was good for you. And I don't recommend it. I smoked both, but neither now for 20 years or so. You can take my word for it that smokers inhale deeply and that a pack a day (half of my intake in the end) of cigarettes is more smoke than the most dedicated pot head could inhale. Especially these day with high grade cannabis products.

You can never safely speculate on medical matters without data. That is the job of Presidents. But I will speculate that the key factor is the damage smoke does to the respiratory cilia. Pot smoke and pollution will both damage those. But I have never met a pot smoker who inhales the sheer volume of smoke that a tobacco addict does.

That looks like the "million dollar highway" in Colorado. US 550. Not a place to test your fancy cruise control. I drove it once south bound to Durango. I had no idea what I was getting into when I started down it in a semi. The south bound side is the cliff side. Best drive ever.

Are you going on about this again? Like I and several other people told you the last time you made this statement, links are canopy parts and are supplied with the canopy. This is the industry standard for new canopies. When you buy used all bets are off. No one is talking about legalities here, except you.

Frequently in the past the data card has traveled with the used reserve canopy. However this is not a hard and fast rule. Optimums and PD Reserves have a record of the number of repacks and deployments on the label. That is what most people go on. Other than that any canopy should come with links, the slider, and nothing else except perhaps it may have a line card to help keep the lines sorted. But that is not necessary.

Trump and his administration is going to turn this event into the worst it can be in the USA. There will be third world countries hit harder, but the most advanced country in the world, where the most advanced tech comes from, with all the advantages of wealth and resources is going to allow it's clown car of a government to fumble the ball and turn it over. Ain't democracy grand?
