Absolutely. Have your cake or eat your cake. Don't eat it and then complain that it is gone.

Definition from Google, perhaps anti-vaxxers could indeed be considered "socially inferior". They are after all voluntarily choosing to be disease vectors endangering others around them for no rational reason. I consider them to be at least somewhat inferior. Un·ter·mensch /ˈo͝on(t)ərˌmen(t)SH/ noun a person considered racially or socially inferior

Actually there is no plan to create a "two-tiered society", that is hyperbole. Instead there is a plan to put enough pressure on the unvaccinated to make it much easier for them to just give in and do the right thing. And it is beginning to work. Right now it is still a big issue. A year from now we (and most of them) will be wondering what all the fuss was about as we all get used to our yearly booster shots.

Maybe, and it would be a good thing in my opinion. The US population is increasing at about .5%/year versus about 1% for the world right now. It's a lot like compound interest, over the years the results are quite profound. A lot will depend on whether or not more women are given more control. And the overall picture on that is mixed to say the least. But one thing for sure is that immigration to North America is not going to stop and the average skin colour and ethic diversity of the people will increase. https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/

They should face license suspensions as well.

I have come to understand that feeding the troll becomes a bad habit some people can't resist . I think it is like going to the zoo and tossing tidbits to the dumb animals. It has a certain entertainment value in watching them scramble around and slobber while they gobble up the treats.

Yes, like I said there are still some dead enders around. My turntables are long gone.

I remember when we used to use analog grooves pressed into oil based vinyl discs to listen to music!
-
A hundred years before that was the peak of the "whale oil" lighted economy. And wind energy drove almost all inter-ocean transportation. Things can change, but there is always those dead enders who resist.

All that is somewhat interesting. But most likely the amount of damages in money potentially involved and recoverable even if any patent was found to be infringed upon would not be enough to risk the cost of pursuing the claim. Most likely Eric has never even been able to recover the costs of filing for the patent in the first place. Which no doubt is a source of great annoyance for him.

The original inhabitants of the continent were not able to claim and keep it to themselves. Europeans and their slaves overtook them. White good 'ol boys will not be able to keep out the hoards either. The Bible teaches that God said "go forth and multiply". Not that I believe in either, but the concept is sound. America is largely empty, but it won't be empty forever. The people of the Earth will fill it up. One day it will be as populated as India because it has a lot of arable land and livable space. It will be more heavily populated than China. Southern Canada will be the same. It's all part of the exceptionalism!

Skydive sport rigs are pretty simple things. There are three basic types being made these days. Really only two plus one fringe type. It is not surprising that most resemble each other. MARDS are a newer development and have not become standardized yet. None have proven to be perfect so there seems to be room for improvements. Anyone expecting to make any serious money from developing a MARD needs to give their head a shake. They are not an item that is essential, and Mr. Booth beat you to the part of the game that will pay. I guess Aerodyne decided they were tired of paying to use the Skyhook. Most jumpers don't really fully understand MARDs, but they know that they want a Skyhook. I predict Aerodyne will lose sales in a big way, not that they ever really had a lot of them anyway.

I removed her from the schedule for the last month. Told her to call me if she changed her mind. A month later she did. Is that asshole enough? I took a fair bit of flack from some jumpers and one of my partners. I told them they could take over as Ops manager if they wanted to. None of them did.

Remember that young pilot I had who would not get vaccinated because her family didn’t want her to? She just threw off some of the Mennonite shackles and got a dose of Pfizer. But she got it a hundred miles away from home and is not telling anyone! I’m pretty sure that would not have happened if I had not “mandated” the vaccine for all our staff.
-
How will it become worse? He may become more angry I suppose, but he won’t become less vaccinated. Vaccine mandates won’t work for everyone but they will work for many. Covid is here for a long time, mandates are needed and they will become relentless. People will get used to it.

And neither one is a cure for stupidity, but using both will make a person look smarter.

You should consider posting an ad in the classified section of this site. There is a tandem gear category. For sale posts are forbidden in in the forums and most likely this one will be removed or locked shortly.

The SC is going to see the backlash from this decision. That may flip a vote or two when the more meaningful ones come about. They don't exist in a vacuum.

How to rekindle/bolster interest in 4-way/ FS
gowlerk replied to skydude2000's topic in Relative Work
How to revive four way? Well, consider why 4 way even started. Mostly because it works well on small DZs with Cessna 182s. So, go back to a 182 DZ. But most of those are now tandem mills. -
Things like this will motivate those who disagree to use their votes to do something about it. Abuse of power like this will cost the right their hold over states.
-
I can imagine where we would be right now without the near miracle that our current vaccines have been. We are very lucky to be living in a time where so much is possible.
-
My prediction is that it will just become a normal part of life for a couple years, then slowly fade away.
-
This is only speculation on my part. Nearly all two dose vaccines are given months apart. Because of the need for rapid testing these ones were given much closer together. It is entirely possible that better protection would come with a longer period of spacing.

Covid is morphing into a longer term multi-year battle. It is going to be an even larger event than we first realized. Vaccines and boosters are going to be needed and strong public health policies are going to be coming. Even to red states. This is just the beginning.
