  1. You're not allowed to give up jumping. You can do whatever else you'd like to with your life, but you're not allowed to give up jumping. Who else is gonna dodge me when I'm flying straight at them forgetting to stop? And then laugh about being a torpedo target? Yeah, no giving it up for you...your face is far too happy in the air. 2. No, Walt, what it reeks of is the amazing amount of control the Scientologists and Scientology have in Hollywood, and elsewhere. It's scary, amazing, and perterbing... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  3. Apparently, if I respond to a post of yours, I'm stalking. So consider yourself "stalked" by those parameters. ROFL!!! Tom and Michael, if you'll note, I changed the "re: " line to reflect my opinion of the thread title. All have a right to protest. All have a right to be heard. However, all do not have a right to infringe upon others' rights, and that is a difficult line sometimes to adhere to. 4. No, I agree, none of the tribunal would want him dead. But maybe someone did...thought that the two years he was on trial might deny justice rather than just delay it... And I also know he was in ill-health. Did you know, however, that Milosevec at one point claimed he was being poisoned? (Something I heard earlier today; can't recall where...sorry). Now, I'm no conspiracy theorist, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility that he was murdered, and that the other person was also murdered. I just find two deaths in as many weeks in UN custody (some of the best medical care around...) to be curious. If I were the investigator, I'd be looking a bit more closely at things than just what it appears to be. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  5. Well, half right. If the DCS removes a child under dangerous circumstances, or because the parents are incarcerated and there is no family to take the child/ren, the State indeed supports that child. However, a woman can relinquish her child to the State immediately upon birth, and they are not fiscally responsbile. In certain hospitals and firestations, there is a "safe baby" site where no questions are asked; the baby is accepted, and the parent let go without even knowing their name. This was done to prevent children from being thrown in the trash, literally, and to give an option to those women who find themselves with a pregnancy carried to term and life circumstances preventing them from keeping them. In all these situations, which are the main source of public adoption/foster situations, the state pays for the care of the child until they are placed with a permanent family. Which means, honestly, that we, the taxpayer, pay for it in the end. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  6. Nope...not true. I am far more apt to strike while screaming then not... As a black belt in TKD, I've used my training exactly once...the mugger was pretty sorry he tried to take my purse. Other than that, I simply don't get into situations which would require me to fight. Should I need to, though, I can deal with it to the point of creating an opportunity to flee. And flee I shall. It's fine to fight in a controlled atmosphere - the studio or in a tournement ring. It is NOT fine in uncontrolled circumstances. If one finds themselves in a real, life-on-the-line sort of fight, if you can get away, please do so. If you can't get away, fight until you can...and then get the fuck outta Dodge. And go "crazy". Shout, imitate a Gorilla, growl...whatever it takes to make someone decide you're just not the person they should play with tonight. A friend of mine started barking and growling at a trio of muggers who had loosely cornered him...they decided to go find a sane victim. LOL! It worked for him... 7. No tats here...not interested in it, don't want the pain, and I tell myself all the stories I need. LOL! On others, some look amazing; some look horrible...but it's not my body, so my vote doesn't count. As long as it works for them, who'm I to say? Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  8. Didn't another one of his group who was either on trial or waiting for trial "suicide" a few weeks ago? I quote suicide because that's what I recall; and if so, the two deaths of prominent war criminals might want to be investigated a bit more in depth... 9. LOL! I was just going off the first page - didn't want to spend more than 5 minutes on the subject. How funny to be called a stalker for reading a thread and responding to a post. I'm still chuckling about that. On a different note - your job interview went well, I've read...YAY for you!! Well done. 10. I had no idea they couldn't walk down the stairs. So...will you tell me, or do I have to stop my grout scrubbing and research it on the net? Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  11. Not too many moments; rather brief, although I *do* enjoy the entertainment which comes with such indignation for being caught in plagiarism. Honey, you got caught plain and simple. Handle it like an adult, instead of trying to clothe a PA in words such as "skulk", all right? BTW, those linked posts were on the *first* page of your post history...I'm sure if I really looked, I'd find more than 20% of your posts are catty. But I don't feel like bothering; I've got far more important things to get done - such as scrub the grout in the bathroom. But hey...it's all good. I think I'll go play a game of scrabble and see if I can't break 1500 points. I'll even try to use the word "skulk" just in your honor! 12. I knew that it didn't echo...but I didn't know that no-one knew why. Man, talk about the grant money available for that one! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  13. LOL, only if it's been properly trained, I'd suppose. Quack! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  14. LOL. Not a catty remark there. I do think people see it for what it is...a thinly veiled attack camoflagued as an assessment (inaccurate, at best) on someone. It just makes me laugh how someone who's been caught stealing someone else's words - and then admitting it - now believes there's a prosecution against her, or at the least, "stalking" her. But hey, to each their own...far be it from me to call someone paranoid. I don't know enough about the illness to accurately assess that from several thousand posts... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  15. Nah, I wouldn't even bother. Like what I did to a flasher I once encountered, I'd just stand there, point and laugh... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  16. Vibes for him, Matty...and I don't think that anyone can really give a decent assessment of his condition via the net, not being a Dr., and not completing examinations. I would urge you to kidnap his happy ass and take him to a Dr...explain the insurance thing to the Dr's office, and see what sort of work-around they can do. I know they did this for me when I was very ill a while ago, and needed some help. And who cares if he gets mad at you; he'll be around to do that, you know? Go as fast as you can...this doesn't seem to be getting better on it's own. Lots of prayers and vibes and hugs for you and your family. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  17. Airfury, that is good (but bad) news. It's a curable cancer, which is good...and she seems to be in good hands, which is better. And she knows she has her family around her to help and love and support and fight right along side...which is best. She's in my prayers...please let us know how it goes. Best to you and your Mom... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  18. Ain't dem double standards grand? ROFL. "I see (their) true colors, shining through".... Situational ethics, only if one gets caught is it wrong, it's o.k. if no-one knows or gets hurt, and all that jazz...one's true character is demonstrated in these smallest moments. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  19. No, I can go commando no problems. It's just simply a danger to myself and others if I go without some sort of boobie restraining system in place. Except bed, or when I'm hanging in jammies at my house. I am sooooooo glad bra burning is optional...that makes me rest easier.
  20. Erm, can we make the bra burning optional? I don't think I could survive not having a bra... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  21. Lori, the storm which is bringing snow to Oregon is indeed headed our way. We are expecting snow as low as the Santa Monica mountains, and stormy weather (including thunder and waterspouts, possibly tornados) here in LA on Friday night through Sunday. Gonna get cold, might get snow outside my place in the San Fernando Valley...and definitely gonna get windy and rainy. Good grief, I hope the rain doesn't freeze - we can't drive in the rain as it is, and if it freezes and becomes ice, it's gonna be hell on Saturday (when I have to travel to a memorial...). Oh well... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  22. That's a really hard question to answer, at least for me. Perhaps that's why you haven't gotten salient responses. I think if we're still in active warfare in 10 years, I'd think it would be time to bring home our service personnel. But other than that, I don't know. Sorry. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  23. I'm not looking to ameliorate it, I'm simply stating that your use of the emotional argument is getting old. Sure, there are fucktards who scream about killing "ragheads" and whatnot. There are even people who holler about glass parking lots. But that's not the point the OP was making, I don't think. For you to lump everyone who cares about their countryman before another country's citizens as bad, immoral, lacking class/sensitivity, or not understanding that there is a reason some people hate us...well, that's just not up to your abilities. It would be the same if I were to start stridently shrieking about how Amerika is horrible, oppressive, controlled by the Illuminati, and so forth. It's an extremist view, and while some of the thousands who post here have it (as some of the thousands who post here have the glass parking lot mentality), it serves no purpose except to inflame and instigate. {quote]Or perhaps there is no way to deal with it. Perhaps there will always be people who simply don't care if others die. There do seem to be a lot of them in the world, both here in the US and in Iraq. There will always be people who don't care if someone of another country is killed - or worse, actively seek a way to create it. I think they are less than you seem to think...and I sincerely doubt that Iraqi children are reading DZ.com. If the percentage follows through (and I haven't any idea if it does), then there are very few people who don't care. In a society, they tend to get restricted and ostracized, at least in my experience... I do think something can be done; both understand the speaker of such vitriol, and find a way to bring humanity to the folks they are screaming about. Sometimes it's like shouting into a void...but mostly it's not. The good thing is, frankly, that those who're screaming "glass parking lot" are not the ones strapping suicide vests on their children and saying "go forth...and kill!!!" while the dollars flow to the family from Hamas. The bad thing is, frankly, that there will always be a group like Hamas who instigate, propigate, and foster the hate mongering we see playing out right now. And that's a pity. Know what? I don't think those who say "glass parking lot" and "raghead death!" and the other slurs mean it. I think they - similar to you - are being emotional about something. Often, when I've seen those comments, it's been while they've been provoked - by a terrorist attack, another poster calling names, or whatnot - and that they really aren't quite as violent as all that. Matter of fact, I've met Rhino, and I think he's a pretty nice guy. Our politics are dissimilar, but hey, who cares when you're at the dropzone...and another two people who post on this forum have enlisted. They're putting their money where their mouths are, and I admire them for that. I do think that an emotional response such as the one the OP made is not something that can be taken with as much weight as you tend to give them. Rather, you get sucked in to reacting emotionally, as well, and the entire thread gets thumped. That's why I was saying that you are pulling the same shit they are...and you're capable of much better arguments than that. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  24. Sure, and lots of people do it. But you know what? It's still stealing copywritten material. Once published, it is the author's, and no-one elses. If it were an article in a paper or something, the copyright would be limited in both accredidation and use for education (which this forum could loosely be construed as). But to take someone else's words, from their website, and not state so is clearly a violation of copyright. And as you noted, it's interesting and telling when someone does that...clues me in on a bit of their ethical position. Will anyone do anything? Most likely not...but I still like to point it out when I notice it. I'd rather see critical thinking skills provided here without the need to steal others work...and frankly, I do expect things to be credited when used. This could've been an interesting discussion - i.e. Ghandi's position on non-violent protest, and the concepts behind it, and how Cindy Sheehan is, or is not., following them - but the discussion's not going to go that way...which is more the pity.
