The reason I have the 18 inch risers is that they are too short for me or most people I know so they are extras. I would suggest getting a longer pair and trying that. Your brake lines will shrink 3 to 5 inches over time. to install new risers on your canopy is about 15 dollars. If you need the lines shortened I would just do them for you. As long as you don't go back and forth (lengthing and shortening). Hope to see you soon. I like the snow. I live where there is one season, with minor variations of temperature and precipitation to make things interesting. The photo Zinger put up - I'd kill to look out my window and see that. To see things blanketed in snow would be amazing (I see things blanketed in smog now)....in the spring, to see things newly green is gorgeous. Oh well. Morning, HH... Not taken personally at all. And cool quote. And I generally agree on that as a great position - proactivity is a vital part of how to move forward and keep things new, fresh, and working... In this case, though, what I was noticing in the responses is a tendency to see this potential move as divisive rather than beneficial. Some responses include the words "segregation" and "cliques" and I think that feeling would be dangerous (even if it's simply a perception and not a reality). That was what was behind my "don't fix it" comment. I agree that tends to apply to the general public culture. But if the skydiving culture is, as touted and generally perceived, all inclusive and welcoming, I don't see the need for regional boundaries. I do think it would tend to "lift and separate"...(obligatory boobies reference here......). I guess what I mean is that I don't see it as a problem emerging, and not on the horizon, either. Perhaps, if I understood more why you wanted it, I would be more in line with your thinking. As of right now, I think the forums work fine, and my vote stands as there's no additional catagories needed. Hey, HH, it's your ship, and you're the captain. Run it as you see fit, makes no nevermind with me. I adore this place for the most part, and appreciate all your work in maintaining it. No, no, no, Kris....Sade is great for when you're in those "I don't quite know what's wrong but something definitely is" moods. Sometimes, a glass of wine in the evening, mellow music and some listening quietly to yourself is the best help there is. The one thing I count on when I get there (and past there into full out depression) is that I suspect it will pass. I am not always sure it will, but I suspect it will. Like a big wheel, it will turn again. Unless this time I got squashed under that wheel.... hmmmmmm. I'm not being very helpful. I need a glass of wine. Or perhaps some whine would be good.... Get your rigger to check it out now, so if there's a problem, you can either return it or get the problem fixed prior to getting your main. that way, you can jump more quickly on it once it's assembled... My three kitties are rescue kitties... "Charlotte" was a stray who walked into my house a year ago. She hasn't left. "Esse" came from an adoption/pet store - they rescue strays, tame them, and give them away. "Bitch Kitty" (yes, that's her name) was a supermarket cat, and the children who were giving them away said they couldn't go home til the cats were gone. She was the last one left. I'm a sucker. And BK is a bitch...but she's old now, 17 or so, and it will soon be time for her to cross the rainbow bridge. I am not looking forward to that. No photos, though. Maybe some other time. I second - third - wherever we are at the moment - that notion. Amber, yes, it's no fun to be lonely. And it's really hard, especially with the holidays coming and all that stuff. But here's something to remember - he didn't just make you smile. He made you cry - and if you're anything like me, cry long and hard. Swollen eyes and all the shit that goes along with that. There comes a point that the hurt behind the tears outweighs any of the smiles. The tears drench the fire of the smile, you know? And you can't forget that this happened (even though we'd all like to forget it). As to him weaseling into your life, he can only do that if you let him. Yes, it's hard. Yes, it hurts. Yes, it's about the most difficult decision to shut off that door, knowing that it's loneliness in the room with you... but when you look hard at the situation, you'll see that he is pretty much the same guy. And if he's the same guy, then there will only be more of the same in line for you down the (short) road. Move forward, sweetie. There's nothing left in the past but memories.
