Well, first, let it get really drunk on the bottle of whiskey. Then, get your windproof lighter, and then sneak up on it (it would be best to wear sneakers for this. That's what sneakers are for...sneaking)...open the fridge door - I assume the light in your fridge has burned out - all the best if that's so - but if not, it's o.k. too 'cause light is it's nemesis; croon sweet nothings to is as you gently take the OJ away - it'll be too drunk to fight you off. Also, while you're at the fridge, take out the steak, take it out of the package, and set it on the counter. Then, once you have disarmed the penicillin from the sweet sugary oj, pick it up (the blue stuff, not the oj) and throw it, as hard as you can, on the ground at your feet. This will do two things...a) it will be really drunk so it won't hurt it, but it will stun it...and b) if you do it correctly, your leg will be in position to get the splatter of it, and get medicated that way. Lastly, take your lighter and set fire to your kitchen. It will act like the flame thrower thingies in the movies, and will char the unused portion of your drunk blue fuzzy stuff into oblivion. If you have placed the steak carefully on the counter, you will also now have a charbroiled dinner waiting for you. While it may singe the counter a little bit, it also serves to sterilize the area, so you have a clean place to cook. While the blue fuzzy remnants are still on your leg, do please hobble off to the bathroom, get some toilet paper, and place it over the blue fuzzy stuff - you already know how to do this - it works on the same principal you count on when you shave. Then go back to the kitchen, grab the steak, and have dinner. Voila! Kill two birds with one stone - dinner and cleaning your kitchen. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. The guy I got my main from was hooked up with me through this place by another poster. He sent it to my rigger, my rigger inspected it, told me to grab it. I did, and then sent a check for the price he asked plus shipping and voila...I had a canopy. Exactly what I wanted and needed. O.K., so the colors aren't what I'd'a chosen but still, a great, easy deal, no escrow, checked by a rigger...all good. Now to figure out how to pay for the rest of it. And then find the rest of it. You pour rotgut whiskey on it, kill it dead, and then apply it. Geeze, men really are helpless!(giggle) Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Dewd, if they do bite you on the leg, some of that homegrown blue fuzzy stuff in the fridge will help. That is poor man's penicillin! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

ROFL...... Yeah, like, uh, artillery practice. Or pumpkin target throwing. Or even as a diet incentive.... LOL..... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Jraf said Yeah, well....sometimes shedding shorts in the kitchen is a good thing.... And if you're too busy to remember to pick them up 'til the next morning, then that's a great thing! Never ask an old paratrooper how many jumps he has

Bill and Clay Will do. As I have gotten older, he has told me many more stories then the cute and fun ones about the wildlife stories (waking up with a snake curled on his chest for heat; panther (or some large cat) coming up and "investigating" him as he was point and trying to be stealthy...). The stories have matured as I have, and now talk about his fellows with their feet rotting off, the lack of food, the mines, bombs, and bullets he encountered, the injuries he sustained, permanent ones. As I have gotten older, I realize just how much he gave for this country - and how much less he was asked to give then some of his fellows dying next to him. As I have gotten older, I realize how hard it was for him, a skinny shy jewish young man from Brooklyn, to take this on himself and to give up what he did...to encounter the jungle in a way which was terrifying and intensely difficult to fight in - when, as he put it, "the only snakes I had ever seen were not hanging from trees stuck in the cement on my street, spaced regularly and trimmed. The snakes I had seen were in the zoo, behind thick glass. And they were small..."... and still be able to retain his humanity, dignity and love for all people. As I get older, I recognize what the war there did to him, and for him. Yes, I will make it a point to shake his hand on your behalf. I am taking him out for dinner on Monday (something I do every Veteran's Day). He is my hero, and he is my Dad. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~ -

My father, too, has some great stories he'd entertain us kids with. Until very recently, he did not talk about some of the more impactful things. He fought in Burma/India and was in China as well. While not airborne, his experiences are intense and powerful. An early note of thanks to all those who serve, long ago or today. I appreciate your service. Hey, Kev and Justin... I understand your positions. I don't agree with them. It's all good. We'll just agree to disagree at this point. C-ya in the skies!!!

Oh thank you! No, but I screamed it repeatedly on the ground. Drew some strange looks, as I was alone and standing at the fence at the time, no beer close to hand. I just wanted to be included. Sadly, Fu** Muenkel was an exclusive sort of thing, and I simply didn't measure up to the standards. Believe me, there was a line of people wanting to scream invectives at you, but only a select few were able to actually carry that cry into the sky. [edited to reflect the fact that this was a fun jump, and done in fun, good humor, and intent to include Chris in the sky he belongs in...not in the least serious...] Sigh. Maybe someday I can do a FU** Muenkel jump. It would make me a whole woman. (

Yessir.... "Ciels and Pinks" was what I signed off with most of this year. The Pinks refers to Pink suits, or Pink ribbons, and recognized the JFTC and the effort they were (and are) making to raise $$ for breast cancer. Ciels is skies, pinks is, well, pinks....now that JFTC is done with for the moment, I dropped the pinks part.... BTW, you have any idea how easy it was to type "ciels and PUNKS", rather than pinks? LOL....always tried to make sure that particular typo was not done. Ciels (and pinks for Muenkel...) Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Actually, in the US, that is prolly enough to convict him. Reasonable doubt and absolute certainty are two different things. If you believe that "there's a 99.9999999% chance", that, at least in my mind, constitutes the standard of reasonable doubt overcome. O.K., here's where I lose my diplomatic status.... No, Kev, they didn't. They targeted someone who was known to be a high level operative in the AQ. Hijazi was with him. Hijazi holds dual citizenship (from an unknown middle east country - they haven't disclosed the other ccountry yet, just id'd it as a ME). He was in the US for an unknown amount of time. Hijazi was killed in a strike by a hellfire missle. I, for one, am damned pleased that the CIA waited until there was a very small chance of the euphimistic "collateral damage" and left the row of houses (I'm making that up - I don't know where they were coming from...but the point remains) wherein many others could have been killed right along with those 5 or 6. The way it was done limited that chance - and protected those who were not playing with the bad guys. The CIA was obviously taking extreme care, inasmuch as the timing of the strike and the confining of it to as little extraneous death as possible. I bet you didn't see it quite that way. Now, IIRC, back in October of 2001, there was some serious discussion of who made up AQ, and where the "sleeper cells" were. We have since seen several cells disrupted - arrested in NY and OR, among others - they were made up of dual citizens and American citizens. The difference is simple: they were here in the US, and this cell was in Yemen. Before you get all crazy on me , there is something else to really consider. Had this been done without - repeat without - the Yemeni government's approval and assistence, there would have been such a hue and cry as to have alerted us of that fact. Therefore, as it was a collective assault, on territory outside of the US, I think that there are other things to consider. When I travel, I do not retain the same rights as I do when I am in this country. I am subjected to the laws and legal systems of whichever country I visit. Period. My rights as a US citizen stop once I pass the border. Remember those christian missionaries who were being held just prior to our initial response in Afghanistan? Know about all those children who's parents take them to other countries and the US parent cannot get them back? It's because there is a cessation of rights once we leave the US. How arrogant to think that my rights must be adhered to in another country. I do not know what rights suspects have in Yemen. I don't think they are comparable to the rights we hold here, but I could be wrong. If your issue is simply that the CIA, in conjunction with another government (Yemen) took out someone who was, in your words, "99.99999999%" likely to not be Mr. Rogers, in another country, said country which has recently seen some serious terroristic activity, I think you may not be seeing the big picture with as much detail as I know you are capable of. Again, Kev, I understand your position, I see your side. I don't agree with it at all. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

I call BS! I am not diplomatic, nor am I kind. Just ask around! Gawd. Oh, the pain to be tarred with that particular brush! Oh, wait, I think you were complimenting me. O.K., thanks! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

I dunno. I mean, if I was hanging around with OBL or one of his top operatives, I would prolly understand that there was a higher risk of my immediate demise, simply due to the fact of who I hung out with. Some of the folks who were in the car have been linked with the USS Cole attack, which, IIRC, killed 17 of our service men. It seems to me that if this guy knew them well enough to be driving around a desert, it's rather likely that he also knew about their most wanted status. And I'll bet a jump ticket that he knew he was hanging with guys the US had declared war on. I'll further bet that this wasn't some "innocent" and ligitimate business dealing, or the brokering of a daughter in marriage. Now, I am not of that culture, but it would seem to me that asking for a daughter's hand in marriage would not actually be done in a car in a desert with non-relatives. Color me naive, I just don't think that's actually what was going on. Add further to the fact that there has been some suspicious activity in Yemen, and the "heat was on", so to speak. I dunno, Kev. I understand your position, but I really rather strongly disagree with it. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Ya know, it's great to have this come through. It's pretty mild here in SoCa, rain and light winds. But we so badly need the rain! It's a great change of pace. As for surfing, that is something I've never tried, but I second Sebazz in the childish heartsong of stomping puddles and running around in the rain. It's yummy! I thought it was ketchup mixed with mashed potatoes. Eeewwwwwwwwwwww!

[Michele comes in, and looks around. Noticing fries littering the hallway, she pokes her head into the cafeteria. Amidst the ketchup and yoghurt, she sees the little cups that jello shots come in. Wondering out loud if anyone was actually left alive in the mess, she steps in. And promptly slips on some left over mashed potatoes. Ass over teakettle Michele goes, and performs a most perfect PLF, and comes face to face with a gerbil munching on a bagel. The gerbil looks a tad drunk, and, glassy-eyed and foul breathed, he chitters at her. Screaming at the rodent left in the mess, she pushing herself up off the floor and clambers to her feet. She sees a left-over bottle of tequila, and notes the vestiges of it's contents in the bottom. Lifting it, she swigs, and it burns her throat just as all the other tequila she has ever drunk has done. Michele turns on her heel, and, realizing she is all alone, makes the necessary adjustments to her thong. She goes to the door, and takes one last look around. Flipping the light switches, the lights dim in the cafeteria, and she goes into the hallway, making her way towards the exit. She offhandedly wonders how the kestrils are doing as she slowly meanders through the empty hallway. Briefly her thoughts touch on NacMac, and considers what he'd contributed to the foodfight...and then realizes he would be the one watching and egging it on, drinking a pint in the process. "Early bedtimes suck!" she thinks, and wanders out....]

I voted for Infinity, but I also have not much to compare it to. I have rented both the Jav Oddessy, and the Infinity. If I had $$ to buy something right now, it would be the Infinity. While I like the Jav, it was not as comfortable as the Infinity is for my body. Remember, it's rented gear, so it is not custom, and because of that, there really is no point to my validation of one over the other. But you asked! You're right, of course, about the RSL not figuring into the AAD firing. D'oh, I got that all bolluxed up. You'd think I'd understand better, but that's what this place is for, right? LOL...sigh... I think what I am trying really hard to be delicate about and still ask, (and obviously not accomplishing) is this...could a partial pull on the reserve handle create something which would not trigger the AAD to fire...? Does that make any sense? And I know that was not delicate at all, and I apologize in advance should someone get upset at the question. Please no-one flame me for asking that. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

So, the Sentinel/Elizabeth threads recently have got me thinking about AADs. No, not the debate "should I or shouldn't I". I already have made that decision. My question is this: how exactly does one work? No, I don't mean how it works for the computer/sensor/thingy to determine to deploy, but rather, once it determines to deploy, what are the mechanisms it triggers (etc) to get a canopy over your head? And how does the RSL figure into it? And just to make your job actually impossible, get me to understand it! LOL, my poor non-mechanical mind is already cringing at the daunting prospect of understanding this. Thanks! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Hey, Dude, good to see you around! I know next to nothing about containers, so my opinion won't even be offered. But I will suggest you talk to Lisa here, 'cause she sells these things for a living, and has helped many people out. Good luck, and post what you decide!
