Thanks, Jimbo. I haven't made it through the whole thing yet, but am learning a lot. I appreciate the link! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~ -
Congratulations, Rob! You and the baby's mom are blessed... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Yup...if you could show that the seller should've known that there was a predatory bear, it should've been disclosed as a material fact...and since the realtor should've known the laws, they should've counseled the seller that this was a material disclosure, and, if the seller refused to disclose, the seller needs to sign a waiver which then becomes part of the contract indicating that they are withholding material facts from disclosure, which is transmitted to the buyer via the buyer's agent. It should be signed as received by both the buyer's agent as well as the buyer. Thus it becomes part of the file. Ain't America grand????????? Working so hard to protect us from ourselves... Yes, I have E&O insurance, to the tune of costing me $1500 per year, with a $5,000 deductible...and yes I was sued once, and yes, I won...

Yeah, and he invented the internet, so we can joke all we want here, right? Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Finally. A test that didn't break when I took it! Tee hee..... (I'd say something in spanish, but I don't speak spanish.) Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

I've had many "occult" experiences....some sought, as in psychic readings, tarot, etc., and some not sought, as in hearing/seeing something for which there is no explanation that I know right now. No one has ever predicted my future (You will be poor all your life. You will marry a gay man. You will skydive.). I am neutral in some areas, and a firm believer that there are things we can't see/feel/touch in other areas. I don't think the Amityville Horror was real. I do think there are places which are "haunted" (some of the Civil War places, for example, or the Tower of London). I love ghost stories, but don't believe them just because I've heard them. Small little factoid...ever wonder why, here in CA, there's a law which talks about disclosing a death on the property you're purchasing/selling if it was in the house itself, and within the last 3 years? Yup...there was a court case. It seems we are the only state which has proved the existence of a ghost in court....! LOL, the buyer "sensed" a presence, after living there for a little while...decided they couldn't live there, investigated the property, determined a violent death in the house from records, and sued the seller for failure to disclose a material fact, and won...at least, that's the story which circulates. I think, personally, the buyer was looking for a way out of a deal he decided he didn't like...but now there's this law...but I digress... All that being said, the Light as a Feather thing is an interesting phenomena. It is a form of self/group hypnosis, similar to the flashlight/mirror/darkroom and "I believe in Bloody Mary" and the resultant distortion of your reflection. The human mind is a most fascinating place...what it can do, what it can convince itself of, what it can convince others of, is incredible... OTOH, there's Cleo... I was wondering what the GM program is, exactly. What the USPA does for/with GMs, etc. I am picking it up piece by piece through the conversations and opinions here, but can someone put up an unbiased overview of what exactly the GM program is, what it entails, and why it exists? I'd appreciate it. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~ -
Thanks, Kreg, for the post...and thanks to all the rest who've lost their fathers and mothers. You all are correct - I am fortunate that I still have both - although Mom is 72 and Dad is 80 in two weeks...and I make it a point to spend as much time with Dad as possible, and talk to Mom often (she lives in Jersey). I dread the call, and I know it's coming someday. (Clay, I understand why you went back to GA...it's the same reason I came back to Burbank whem me and my ex split). Hugs, everyone. I do it all the time. Especially out of the van. But it's always a mistake when I do it. Have fun! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

I can't send it around my office, because too many of them wouldn't "get" it and I'd get in trouble. HOWEVER! I will give it to a few friends there who'd just love it. Thanks... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Hey, Katiebear... Sorry to hear about your bad day...I understand (sending you a comfort hug right now! ). I can't help you with canopy colors, but ou have fun doing it...and have a beer. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Stupid story, but funny to me... Still not licensed - jump number 14 or something. Rented gear, with a funky chest strap - really long (like 3 feet and not folded over at the end. ) I routed it the way I was shown at the gear rental store, which was different from any other chest strap to that point (through, back over the clasp, then back through the keeper)...now, I'm in the Otter, light load. Older guy in yellow across from me, chatting with a student. I'm not sure who he is, but I've seen him around. I smile, and he returns it. "Hey, are you sure you got your chest strap right?" says he "It's the way they showed me at the store - I think it's right" says me "Mind if I check it" he says "Yes, please" from me...now I'm worried... He reachs over, slides his hand under it, and YANKS as hard as he can. Oomph splat and I land over in his lap...but the chest strap didn't move. The plane cracks up, and I sit back in my seat. Great jump, and once on the ground, he introduces himself to me... "Hi, I'm Jim Wallace. Let me explain why I did that"...cool introduction, most excellent human, good education, and comforting to know he's looking out for everyone, all the time. And then: So I do... And I get... So I check and then adjust my security settings, and try again. And again. Remember when I said I either score in the lowest group or I break the test? Seems my reputation is intact. Sigh. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Buzz... I just made my way through this thread...and I gotta say, THANK YOU. While you and I may not agree on certain things, you're answering honestly and from your opinions without insulting anyone. You acknowledge when things need more study, if you don't have the info, and so on. This is a clear and appreciated change from other threads...this is how to do it! But I bet your fingers are tired! LOL! We're an inquisitive bunch... I don't know who I'm voting for, but this is helping me understand the issues surrounding the election, and affords me the opportunity to explore and consider those issues more thoroughly. Rawk on, and again, sincere thanks! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~ -
I have seen that before, Tina. As a matter of fact, it's hanging framed in my vet's office....which is why it's liquid. He saw the condition of my arms from the carrier battle, and took pity on me. Thank God. LOL, though, thanks...it made me smile...been there, done that. Got the scar to prove it! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Thanks, my friend...I appreciate that greatly. Geesh, between you, Wingi, and the beer Patrick drank for me tonight, I'm feeling a little better already. Tomorrow is scheduled off, so I will take something to help me sleep and then wake up when I'm done sleeping - no alarms, forgotten VIPs, doctors, files...please God... Jess...yes, the critters in our lives do consume time and $$, but all worth it in the end. BK is really ill. I have lost two other cats in the last 2.5 years, both older. BK is a wonderful cat...she thinks she's a dog - she even barks at squirrels. She has slept next to my head for the last 16 years, always right there, purring away, a sleek, black, warm cuddler. She has never been ill at all, and thinks the vets are the devil's spawn. She's sleeping on the sofa right now...and I keep waking her up to see if she's dead. Like I said, this is a very very bad infection... I am supposed to give her oral antibiotics. I am not looking forward to this. More scratches and loss of blood.... Ah, geez, I'm depressing myself again. Sorry kids...just needed a place to come and let it out. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Jack, thanks. As the saying goes, "from your lips to God's ears"... HnS, thanks for the clear directions. I know this stuff, from my FJC, but it never hurts to get your opinion...sometimes I have a hard time imagining it, because I've only seen it on video with two very different sized canopies...suffice it to say they were not playing nice with each other. Appreciate the advice, and as Dterrick said, keeping this kind of stuff in front of us and available for discussion is always a reason for appreciation...thanks, HH! Thanks, Patrick...I do appreciate it. I needed one...or two...and just now, I've popped a Mike's Hard Tea... Dave, thanks for the vibes. I am really worried about her. She's one sick little kitty right now. I hope she'll pull through. I'll know more on Friday after the surgery. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

A two out scenario scares me terribly. Question here about landing with two out (leaving the cut/not cut issue alone for a moment). How do you land it? No flare and PLF as best as you can? Assuming this is Perris (tons of open area), and assuming wind is not taking you into obstacles, would it be better to just drift with the wind and take the downwinder, or steer into the wind? I swear, this is the scariest scenario for me to contemplate...Thanks, Jess, for bringing it here so I can learn. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

AUGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH. Ranting and raving to follow (click out now if you don't want to hear me pitch a fit)..... 6:30 am. Shut my eyes for a moment, and now it's really 7:20. Damn snooze alarm doesn't work anymore. 'Kay. Whatever. 9:10 am. Get to the office about 10 minutes late - jeans and a short sleeve sweater amidst a bunch of business suits. I forgot - Regional/Corporate is visiting for this office meeting. I marginally survive the deadly glare of my broker, and sneak over to the coffee pots...but there isn't any. Someone took the last cup, and now I have to wait for the slowest drip machine in the universe to brew some more. O.K., I'll survive this too....except Diana, who's with regional, calls my name. Seems I got some sort of "qualification" award. Coffeeless and clad most humbly, I go and get the certificate thing, and thank her...and pop goes the flashbulb. Damnit. Oh well. Life will continue. Twiddle my thumbs for the rest of the meeting, knowing the OA is writing a memo to remind me that when corporate comes, wear nice clothes.... 10:30 and it's time to go get my 'flu shot. They're running late, and then decide to take it out on me. Jam in the needle, suck in my breath, feel the burn of that going in, and I guess she was still being mean because she missed getting the bandaid on the right spot, so I bleed onto my sleeve. I'm wayyyy late now....I have to be in the next town in 15 minutes at my eye Dr's. Call them and tell them I'm late and on my way...get the car from valet, and vrooooom off I go....sunroof down, windows down, 85 degrees...radio blaring CHRISTMAS carols...WFT is that about? It's not even thanksgiving yet!!!!!!!!!! I pop in some old Creedence and floor it.... 11:08 late, so the eye Dr. has taken someone else. I sit there, twiddling my thumb...go in, get my eye numbed, and yank, out comes part of the tube. But only part. There's still plastic in my eye, and now it's poking me. The anesthetic isn't working. Ow, shit this hurts. O.K., I'll tilt my head back...as he reaches up my nostril with tweezers and pulls the rest of the tube out that way. Now, my arm hurts from the shot, and my nose and eye are bleeding. Ice compresses...o.k., fine, yes, what do you mean we need to do scar abatement surgery? Won't that make more scar tissue? Shit. I can't afford this! We'll talk. Damn. Out the door, back in my car, vroom.... 12:48 pm. Grab the file and fax a few things. Read the memo about jeans and crumple it and put it in the recycling bin. Hey, at least I'm recycling. Answer a call from my car loan place - I'm 2 payments behind and they want my money...I haven't any, so they tell me bring it up to date or we'll repossess...shit, I need my car....open my mail, and my phone bill is there. They want $$ too. Geesus..... 1:45 race home and get my 16 y/o cat, Bitch Kitty, into a carrier. Now, my arm, eye and nose hurt, and I have scratches all over. At least she didn't bite me. Close the carrier, and haul a yowling cat out to the car. Fly up the street, into the vet's. The vet reaches into the carrier, and out she comes. The chase is on. It's a new vet, he didn't listen when I told him she's aptly named, and don't take her out to weigh her in the hall...she'll escape...crash and there she goes....and now the dogs in the waiting area are barking. Kitty faces them down, and smacks one across the nose, bringing blood to the poodle's nose...woosh there she goes, someone opened the fucking door to the outside, and she makes her escape. We race behind her, turmoil in our wake, and manage to corner her trying to climb a tree (she's 16 - I mean, she can't even climb onto the bed!). I pluck her off the tree, and she bites my arm...and then snuggles close to me because she knows me...and then decides to pee on me. Take her back inside...order is not exactly restored. The front desk folk are still calming down the dogs and picking up the glass vase which somehow got knocked over in the melee. Kitty and I make it into an exam room, and the vet comes in...she has a horribly infected abcess in her jaw which has spread to her sinus and back into her ears. She also has worms. $207 for the visit today, and an additional $159 because she needs some surgery on Friday - which was the only day I could jump before Thanksgiving (now she needs this surgery - she'd die without it - and I am so far beyond broke I can't afford to jump anyway. Shit....Bye bye, Eloy...) Vet's comment? "She's damned fast for 16 years old...". No shit, Sherlock. Wrestle Kitty back into the carrier, back into the car, walk into the house, and open the carrier. Start to lift her out, and she swipes me again. She can come out on her own (fyi, she hasn't done so yet.). I am home now. I have changed my clothes and attended my wounds. But I can't even have a drink yet - I have to do dinner with my father. We're planning his birthday party in three weeks, and he thinks he can call and order take out chinese the day ofthe party...for 40 people. Um, nope. But Michele, they deliver. It'll be o.k....um, nope, Pop, we need to go and arrange this ahead of time...so I am eating Chinese tonight, and then the other choice on thursday...Italian. I need a beer. Would one of you please please please have one for me? I'll join you when I get home later, but you start now, o.k.? Please? This is gonna be a really really long week... Morning, Buzz... O.K., I'll jump in. 1. In your candidate's statement, you speak of the State Liability Act as it pertains to skiing...how do you see that translating to skydiving? 2. How do you envision communications being better with the membership? Thanks! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
