Good weekend

    The TSA people at O'Hare are morons, more suited to jobs where the most difficult task they must perform is asking you "do you want fries with that?". On top of this, they are incredibly rude and unprofessional.

    Exactly. People need to keep the joking to The Bonfire and out of the topical forums. Read my original post again, and note that I did mention the loss of altitude in my answer to his first question. The question "how much height will you lose?" doesn't have a static answer. You're right though, I shouldn't assume that people who aren't experienced will get my joke when even people who are don't.... sorry.

    That's silly. You can hook all day long up high, above 2 grand or so, for practice. That's how you figure out how much altitude you canopy loses in a 90, 180, or 270° front riser turn, etc, etc. Granted you want to make sure your airspace is clear and all that other good stuff but telling someone to "don't do it" is lame, esp since last time I checked front riser turns and maximum performance toggle turns are on the A license card. I think you know what I meant. I actually thought about being more specific in my answer to that question... but decided not to as I didn't think I'd get attacked for it. Guess I was wrong...

    Incorrect. When a canopy turns, it loses altitude quite quickly. I think you missed what I was saying

    With your jump numbers (or mine for that matter), you don't. 1.) You lose altitude, gain speed, and quite possibly end up severely injured or dead. 2.) You'll be exactly the same height as you were before the turn. You've got a long way to go... stay conservative.

    Don't rush. I almost ended up buying gear a few times during the AFP, but I'm glad I ended up holding out. If I had bought any of the gear I looked at before getting my A, I'd have already wanted to get rid of it by now. By waiting, I ended up with an awesome rig that is exactly what I wanted and will keep me happy for a LONG time without having to "upgrade".
