That is SO TRUE! Every time I jump, I get less afraid.. Even on jump 19 I was the guy in the plane with shaking legs thinking "WHY do I do this to myself?", but once out the door, ohh yea. :) Soon the excitement just takes over the fear, and then it's just no big deal, all fun! I'm getting a rig, and it has a Precision-Aerodynamics Fusion 210 canopy in it.. I've read other posts about this canopy (which there isnt much) and just cant seem to get a clear answer. The website calls it there "entry range 9 cell" but who knows what that means Nobody I know out here jumps one, or has jumped one, or really even heard of it, so I would just like to hear from anyone who knows what their opinion on the canopy is as far as being a "safe" canopy for someone who is buying a first rig. A 210 for me is about a 1.0 wingloading, and I think i'm an "alright" canopy pilot (but one who still has alot to learn). Alright pilot I guess meaning that I land on my feet every landing on a PD 210 and I feel comfortable with it. I am aware that it is going to be a little different, and I will get myself trained on differences between F-111 and ZP landings etc. before I fly it. From what I have gathered so far, it seems to be alright (someone compared it to a Sabre2) but just want to see if anyone else thinks different before I break myself :) Putting a different canopy in the rig is no big deal compared to me getting the surprise of my life as I try to land this thing for the first time FGF #??? wow... From your profile I gather that your home DZ is my home DZ... I dont think i've EVER seen 10-15 seconds between exits, I dont think I've seen 7 second delays except for ones I've done when people in front of me have asked for them... I guess I wont feel so bad when I do wait anymore (I always wait atleast 5 seconds).. Even 5 seconds seems like people behind me get to be in a hurry. FGF #??? I miss the sky... [reply} Well, I guess I'll blow the whistle on this one today. Low pull, cypres fire and a landing with two out in a bi-plane. The student never knew he had a two out until he had landed Still, no injuries and another day survived at the DZ. How on earth do you have two out and NOT realize it? I know that I've looked at my canopy every jump as soon as it opens to verify good shape etc(and usually as it's opening), even the 1st jump.. How could you not notice two sets of risers? Somebody needs to pay a bit more attention to what they are doing I think, ... FGF #??? I miss the sky... I recently made a post in here saying that jump number 20 for me was FINALLY the FIRST jump that I was not totally freaked out, I think it's perfectly normal to be scared of jumping out of a (not so) perfectly good airplane.. Know what you gotta do? Download some skydiving videos from skydivingmovies.com and watch them, then think "aww yea, that's awsome" and just smile alot... Then think of standing in the door, and smile and get excited about it... Fear is just another emotion, it is no greater or less than any other emotion you feel.. If you get excited and happy about it so much that your more excited than afraid, the excitement will ultimately win and fear will take the back seat. (atleast this is what I figured out, and along with some prayers it worked) Blue Skies FGF #??? I miss the sky... I am an AFF Grad, and since passing level 7 AFF the only other jump I have done with a coach was jump 15 because I had 1 day over a month since the previous jump... I do however have to do 3 more coach jumps before I can get my license, which I need to do soon.. FGF #??? I miss the sky... No shit! It cracks me up really. Its amazing how two different people can look at 5.5k and go "damn we're really high" or "damn we're really low." Its even more fun on the 3.5k hop-n-pop. This, my friends, is where I am at now ... My 3.5k hop and pop is almost all I have left, and it kinda freaks me out how low it is :) FGF #??? I miss the sky... Our hop and pop altitude is 3,500 feet.... I know it's really nothing to worry about, just lower than I've even pulled before :) FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.

So do you guys have anything available for demos? I would be interesting in demoing an Icon and Triathlon, mabey a Pilot too... Plan on making decision on a new rig within the next month and so far the Aerodyne stuff has caught my eye more than any of the other stuff, just cant seem to find any to try out! FGF #??? I was almost a student who crashed into a building, infact I could have probably kicked the building I almost hit while taking high speed landing (about 30mph ground speed WITH the wind). If I may offer up ANY advice in my limited experiance, let it be that if you have ANY PROBLEMS with your parachute just get rid of it, dont be too scared too like I was or think you can handle it.. When I almost hit that building I was trying to fly a Nav 260 by the rear risers because I had a brake malfunction.. BIG mistake. I was back up in the sky the next week though, doing Level 3 over again :) Lets just say I learned my lesson... FGF #??? I miss the sky...
