Yours sucks. I think mine is kind of cute, in an I-just-made-a-skydive-wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! sort of way. I liked my Piglet one better, though. I should put that back up. Skydiving is for cool people only

There are worse jobs than waiting tables. The money's not bad, it keeps you in shape, and guys for some reason love a girl in an apron. I did it through most of college, and some days I miss it. Good luck! Skydiving is for cool people only

I used my mind-control abilities to not only make people at work think I was there, but to do my work for me so my absence was completely undetectable. Skydiving is for cool people only

I'm so there, dude. Is it the Mystery Machine? Will there be Scooby Snacks? Skydiving is for cool people only

If I ever manage to buy a new container, I will only consider the V3 because of the skyhook. (Or another container that it's an option on by then.) Skydiving is for cool people only

It's this place where this really cool organizer is going to put me on all the cool loads. Skydiving is for cool people only

I didn't know you were waiting for my ghetto booty I think you were just wiled away by girls in bikinis. Skydiving is for cool people only

I've just been given some intelligence that I should become a bumpy brother on the first night, so I can initiate people later in the week. I would prefer a night Martini Shots isn't in the tent, though. Skydiving is for cool people only

Check the fatalities forum. It can, and does, happen to anyone. No one is immune. No one has "the presence of mind" (actual line I saw) to not turn low to the ground. Therefore, I'm going to assume that it's a very real danger for me, Jessica Lynn, that I must take steps to mitigate. So please help me investigate: How do I, personally, minimize the risk of my making a low turn? Part of it, I guess, is practicing the billvon method™ of learning to control my canopy, so I'm less likely to panic-turn low to the ground. Bill sez: With the canopy you have, can you: -start the flare, drag your toes, then turn 45 degrees in either direction? -turn 90 degrees at 50-100 feet and still land safely? -land with rear risers only? -land consistently on a 10 meter target? -front riser, rear riser and toggle swoop? -land uphill and downhill? And another part of it, I guess, is staying within a moderate wingloading I feel confident I can handle under emergency conditions, and being sure that it's not my ego telling me that I can handle it. Another part of it could be staying current, and striving to be as comfortable under canopy as I am behind the wheel of a car. I am equipped to avoid sudden obstacles on the road safely; I need to be similarly equipped in the sky. Oh, and awareness of the others on the load is a big one. If you know where everyone is when it's time to land, you're less likely to be surprised and jab a toggle to avoid someone (and less likely to get in someone's way and make him hurt himself). What else, guys? Skydiving is for cool people only

Dropzone.com is cultish in its loyalty to Wings. Do a search, and you'll find that almost every Wings owner is extremely happy with it. Skydiving is for cool people only

Penguins! Penguins in the abstract, though. I wouldn't want one as a pet. I love all God's avian creatures! Skydiving is for cool people only

The beer there in the party tent is free, but it's crap, so we'll expect you to bring green bottles to the dz.com tent. Skydiving is for cool people only

SMART reserve...please give opinions...
Jessica replied to Michele's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
If it's about price, I bet you can find a used Performance Designs reserve for about that same amount. On the other hand, I wouldn't hesitate to jump a Smart reserve. If it's a good deal, you should go for it. It's all TSO'd and FAA-approved. Skydiving is for cool people only -
That's right! You owe me a birthday jump! You stood me up last year! BIOTCH! Skydiving is for cool people only

This was posted on the Chuting Star Rigging Loft site. It's very interesting. Do you guys agree with all this stuff? Would you be OK with getting a bill for $25 more than you thought for fixing something you didn't know was wrong with your gear? (I would, as long as I knew up front that it was a possibility -- which I guess I would if I read the Loft Standards.) Here they are: Loft Standards General 1. Manufacturer manuals and FAA regulations are strictly followed for all canopy, container and AAD assembly, inspections, repacks and repairs. 2. If necessary, minor repairs will be made during the assembly, inspection and repack process without immediate customer notification. 3. Customer will be notified immediately if extensive or major repairs (more than $25) are necessary. Reserve Canopies 1. All sport reserve canopies with metal links must have either fabric, vinyl or silicone slider bumpers. If bumpers are not present, a set will be installed. 2. Performance Designs reserve canopies must have an annual fabric strength test, per manufacturer requirements. Unknown stains on all reserves will be subject to a fabric strength test. Reserves without a strength test requirement will be tested at a 5 year interval from the date of manufacture. AADs 1. Cypres batteries must be under 2 years old through the repack cycle. 2. Service requirements and expiration dates will be followed. Main Canopies 1. Attached main canopies will be removed for reserve inspection and repack. 2. Packed main canopies will be reattached and opened following reserve inspection and repack to check line continuity. 3. Main canopies will be repacked unless otherwise requested. 4. Main repack by rigger includes line check, untwisting of steering lines, rubber band replacement (if necessary) and general inspection while packing. Gear Life Span 1. We highly recommend retiring gear at 15-20 years from the original date of manufacture. 2. This loft will not service gear more than 25 years old. Skydiving is for cool people only

Eeee! You should come! It's so much fun sleeping in a tent and spending a week with all your focus directed on solving the formula that will allow the maximum partying at night without cutting into the jumps you make during the day! Skydiving is for cool people only

Chill out Jimbo. I'm aware of the cancellations. The C-130 was there last year, and I trust it will be this year, too. And if not, je ne care pas. Everyone is so grumpy. It's not our God-given right to jump from a jet. Skydiving is for cool people only

I'm stuck here at work, looking at the WFFC page, and getting all het up! The C-130 is confirmed! I didn't know that! I was only there for four days last year, but this time I'm gonna do it right and be there from Saturday to Saturday, at least. Can anyone give me a ride from Chicago? I've never noticed this at all. In fact, I think I've only met one male jumper under 5'5". Skydiving is for cool people only

Holes cut into the ribs on my new Cobalt!
Jessica replied to andrewstewart's topic in Gear and Rigging
I learned what crossports were on maybe my 60th jump, and a year in the sport. I was trying to pack, then suddenly spied a huge rip inside my canopy! I got on my hands and knees and was trying to assess the damage, when someone came up and kindly told me what it was. I wish your experience had been similar. Skydiving is for cool people only -
Probably RWS. There are no master riggers around here anyway. This isn't a rig I actually own, it's one I'd like to buy. Skydiving is for cool people only

It's Saturday, so I can't call RWS, but I'm burning with curiosity. How much do you estimate it would cost to have a midflap replaced on a Vector III? Skydiving is for cool people only

I have a TV like that! In fact, it's my only TV (don't watch much). It was the dedicated "Nintendo" set when my brother and I were kids, and I swiped it when I moved out. Skydiving is for cool people only
