Jo insisted If they have a prize for tenacity Jo would be my nominee. Jo, how do you KNOW the transmission came from an aircraft? The verbal content may have sounded like it came from a pilot but any ground based CBer could have been the speaker. A visual sighting of a plane wouldn't prove it unless you could read the pilot's lips and see that they synched with the voice signal you were hearing on the CB. If evidence has a dozen possible interpretations you ALWAYS pick the one that best fits with the DW=DBC theory. There is a name for this. It is called bias. Glad your new pain meds are better than the prior ones. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Jo wrote Reconsider Jo. Even if you freefall just once, you will dream about it for the rest of your life. It also is a confidence builder. When something seems daunting I just think if I can jump from a plane and bet my life on some sewn nylon, I can do this thing. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Georgetown wrote For others it's an open door beckoning at 14,000 ft. Once you get over the terror, the minute or so of freefall can be sime of the most soothing contemplative time you've ever spent. And at $20 a jump its a lot cheaper than therapy or a retreat. . 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Airtwardo wrote Airtwardo is right. Most of what happens here wouldn't go over well at a real dropzone. Real dropzones do, however, gladly tolerate a very different kind of immature behavior. It usually involves nudity, beer, and various chants, or combinations of the above. I showed a candid video of typical evening revelry at WFFC 2000 to some whuffo friends. They were aghast, speechless, stunned. Can I get a witness Airtwardo? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Meyer Louie wrote about the Who I wasn't a big fan of the Who, but I'd never rank their music as just mediocre. It's a free world though. Some folks think Beethoven was a hack. To be fair, Meyer did say "...mediocre... most of the time" So maybe even Meyer liked the Who's music on occasion. DB Cooper must have had some favorite tunes. Wonder what they were? Jo thinks she knows. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Cockpit escape techniques are part of normal safety training and are in the airline flight and training manuals. I am guessing they are referring to something else, some info that had to be obtained friom Boeing, some question that the flight crew and NWA ops couldnt answer. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. From G's radio transcript quote: Is the "'deal' from Boeing" referring to info on operating a 727 as a jumpship? Interesting that GC speculates that DBC has that info too. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

My mistake G, looks like he was an MD Psychiatrist, but I still think he was in fortune teller mode, using a "sciencey" job title to push a guess. Unrelated, but cool and relevant to aviation, wind drift etc. A small (about 6 ft dia) latex ham radio balloon carrying position reporting radio gear was launched from San Jose CA the other day. Last evening it crossed the Morrocan coast!!! It was travelling at about 100,000 ft. Filled with hydrogen. http://www.californianearspaceproject.com/ 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Georger scolded I doubt very much that this guy went to med school G. Read it closely. Psychologist not Psychiatrist. Not that it matters much in this context. I know something about the training Psychologists get. My ex got her PhD in psych at UCLA while we were together. Six years of classes and clinical work. Nothing in her doctoral or post doc curriculum or practical training made her qualified to make a similar behavioral predictions based on such scanty second hand info. Do I have a grudge against behavioral scientists? Not if they act like scientists. When they go into fortune teller mode then I do. In a life threatening emergency, guesses masquerading as science can get people killed. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

What an idiot. Like a PhD in psychology qualifies him to predict this. I wonder if he predicted the exit point and deployment altitude too. Looks like he was wrong on all fronts. Amazon would call him a "college boy". I'd be less kind. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

According to the auctioneer good specimens sold for about $6500 initially. Here is a link to a Google search. Lots of comments by coin/currency collectors. Some are amusing. One guy says more Cooper 20s are being found all the time. https://www.google.com/search?q=db+cooper+bills+sold+on+ebay&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari See image below. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Another $20 recently sold on eBay for $3950. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=180985189247&sbk=1 Note fading on rear side of the bill. I've copied images so we can see them after eBay takes down the listing. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

db cooper $20 dollor bill!!! I've copied the listing since the link will go dead shortly after the auction ends. See below. Brian Ingrams sister sold it and the buyer has put in on eBay. Look at the Notary's name. Wonder if it will sell for $5000? Seems a tad high. Nice specimen though. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Georger wrote Sheridan Peterson appears to have threaded the Space Needle many times as operator of the Bubbleator. Does that count? "Candidate pusher" sounds too druggy. How about "candidate advocate"? Which has the dirtier connotation? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Jo wrote Dr. Alexander paints a beautiful passionate vision of afterlife in heaven, but it's not proof, not even remotely close. It is, however, very comforting to those who have lost loved ones and to those facing death. Humans have a very hard time handling the vision that life ends and that's it. They invent alternatives that are more comforting. Nothing wrong with that, in fact it has numerous societal benefits, but don't confuse it with proof of afterlife or heaven. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Blevins an FBI agent? Georger exactly what did you have to drink tonight? I get a good laugh at speculation that the FBI has planted a covert agent on the forum. We are just not that important. Not even close. Ckret came here openly, even disclosed his real name, and then was taken off after one of our more petty and vindictive forum members complained to his superiors. His exit was a loss to the forum, regardless of whether you agreed with his conclusions. He had greater access to FBI case info than anyone on this forum has ever had. I've seen zero evidence that the FBI is covering up Cooper's identity. They are stumped, just as we are. They'd love to solve the case as they would then be batting 1000 on US skyjackings. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

Meyer Louie wrote Indeed he was, but the bravest of the parachuting skyjackers was the guy in the Phillipines who exited wearing a homemade parachute. According to witnesses it inflated then came apart, plunging him to his death. That's why you want a C9. Toughest canopy ever made in my opinion. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. And as Farflung has pointed out, so did a few skyjackers. Still, I want Cooper to be very chute savvy. Radio wise too. Oh, and having more knowledge about 727 jump capability than anyone at NWA. It's just no fun to think of Cooper as a lucky Whuffo. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
