What this does is say that street parking should be the province of only the very wealthy. Anyone else should either: walk or bicycle; or take public transportation. This is how to make elitism sound like egalitarianism. Aaahhhh... Gotchya. It's a 'Don't eat Meat" campaign while the poor go hungry kinda thing. I don't understand. What is the expected outcome? In cities around the globe on Sept.20th, artists, activists and citizens will temporarily transform metered parking spaces into public parks and other social spaces, as part of an annual event called “PARK(ing) Day.” PARK(ing) Day challenges people to rethink the way streets are used and reinforces the need for broad-based changes to urban infrastructure. “In urban centers around the world, inexpensive curbside parking results in increased traffic, wasted fuel and more pollution,” says Rebar’s Matthew Passmore. “The strategies that generated these conditions are not sustainable, nor do they promote a healthy, vibrant urban human habitat. PARK(ing) Day is about re-imagining the possibilities of the metropolitan landscape.” http://parkingday.org/ So, while I'm thinking about it. My best thought is... I'll make a bar.. serve drinks. Then, if an officer tries to arrest me for being drunk in public, I can say, "No Sir, I'm drunk while Park(ing)." Seriously, this to me is just silly. What's even more silly to me is that it's taking on a life. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Unless there's something in the design phase or in testing.. there's only three sizes I'm familiar with. http://www.icaruscanopies.aero/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=15&Itemid=13 Love them. Tears on top skin. Patch it or replace the top skin panel?

It's a question that you segued into another gun thread. The answer is that everyone has the right to defend themselves. As to guns... Personally, I think a one day class to get a concealed carry is far too short. That is about revenue for exercising your right... it is not about training one for the proper use of a weapon or self-defense. Were either of your tandems a "working" tandem where you were taught how to use your altimeter and allowed to pull? If so; the AFP program might make you a step closer to the A license. If not; either one will get you to your destination of an A license. Both are great instructional DZ's Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I think if the radio is to be used; it should be mounted to the chest strap. But, I also think students should be taught well enough to not need a radio, so what do I know. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Thank you for the advice. I had a washer crap out and was thinking there's got to be a way to reconstitute this instead of just pitching it. I thought it a good time to look for ideas on youtube. A buddy of mine has a small 120 acre ranch and is a Macgyver type. At first, I was just thinking about the tub and making an Amish type hand-operated washer (he made one of those already) and dropping the metal off at a local plant for smelting. But, tripped over this idea. He has streams and I see him this weekend. The information about the drop rate is appreciated. Ya know, once you get to thinking about ways to re-use things; it gets to be a bit of a hobby. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

The 'Special relationship' between the UK and the USA
BIGUN replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
Let's look at from a different perspective... Yours is a country of ~64 million. Approximately 0.9% of the world population. For the period 1 January 2006 to 31 March 2013 centrally available records show that just in Afghanistan: 444 fatalities of British Forces personnel including MoD civilians. 2,116 UK military and civilian personnel were admitted to UK Field Hospitals and categorised as Wounded in Action, including as a result of hostile action. 4,529 UK military and civilian personnel were admitted to UK Field Hospitals for disease or non-battle injuries. 293 UK personnel were categorised as Very Seriously Injured from all causes excluding disease. 298 UK personnel were categorised as Seriously Injured from all causes excluding disease. 6,663 UK personnel were aeromedically evacuated from Afghanistan on medical grounds, for whatever reason. SOURCE: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Forces_casualties_in_Afghanistan_since_2001 Perhaps it not so much about our "Special Relationship" as much as it is about needing to be selective and/or hitting the pause button for a bit. Thanks for your help over the past ten years. I know the UK is probably about as weary of this one as we are... Long weekend, NOT the good kind. My first cutaway.

I too; call "bullshit." You can poo poo the fact that your packer/friend/co-owner missed something to spare the relationship, but that won't save your life. Your packer needs remedial training. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -
Implications/viability of tandem pax/student with bad knee
BIGUN replied to grue's topic in Tandem Skydiving
>>>>>>>Buddy of mine wants to do a tandem but blew his ACL out a few months ago. He's currently functional and is going to get a reconstruction done but isn't going to bother until early next year because it's not really affecting him all that much right now, whereas the downtime from surgery would. Morning, Grue. Well, even the best tippy toe landing could cause too much weight to be put on the ACL... Is it really worth it if he puts his foot down and damages it again prior to reconstruction? Would that cause another year long delay in his reconstructive surgery or worse? EDIT: Spelling Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -

I think my biggest pet peeve is receiving the same email with FW: FW: FW: that the whole planet received ten years ago that was debunked 12 years ago. And then if that's not enough; because it was an "undisclosed recipient" list; everyone on the list then sends it out to their "undisclosed recipient" list of mostly the same people!!!! About a thousand years ago before the Internet, there was a story in Reader's Digest of a guy in (Ohio?) who went in with nothing. Landed in a Doctor's yard. And, lived. He said, "It was like walking into a dark room and being hit with pillows." It was the year of living in the hospital and rehab that was painful. The day he got out of the hospital, he drove past his DZ, stopped, turned around, drove in and made a jump. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
