My point is that I think its an over reaction to send a child down to the principals office for something like this....I'd much rather have the teacher "deal" with it then pass the buck to someone else. Walt is right, sometimes a kid is just being a kid...thats my biggest pet peeve....when a kid acts like a kid and doesn't really have a motive for something hes doing other then he is just being a kid...lets face it this time...my child was singing a song, he just had a song in his heart/he was happy....as corny as that sounds and it was stiffled. I don't know what your problem is, but your pissing me off. I DO support the teachers and facilty at my sons school..HELL I even substitute teach there. I think this go around with the teachers concerning my son is a waste of time..THEIRS and his....there are much bigger fish to fry then to come down on a kid for singing a freakin' song. I did talk to him about where and when he could sing..I even mentioned that in a previous post...I didn't just pat him on the back and say to him that they are being unfair...I don't "dis" the teachers in front of him...I tell him that the rules are the rules whether we like them or not...understand them or not. There is the political correctness issue as well as the fear of being sued, and it's amazing what offends people. It is ridiculous!" Oh yes!! The rules in our schools are just incrediable and if one rule doesn't cover someones ass the other rule down the list does..... Like when he said that these two friends of his had cooties because they were girls.....he was just "teasing" being funny, whatever you want to call it...the girls were NOT offended and they laughed to...good god you would have thought that he brought a gun to school with how hard the principal cam down on him....My SO and I did whatever we could not to bust up laughing every time this stern looking female principal said COOTIES! Good grief!!!! He could have said so much more then "just" cooties. Every 11 yr old boy SHOULD think girls have cooties for god sakes!!! It seems like teachers don't want to handle the situations...pass it off to who ever is higher up...there for when the child is sent to the principals office there is a record of it...which that in a nut shell pisses me off the most (that folder follows them everywhere)....plus they are quick to put the kids in an "in school" suspension type of situation. Grrrrrrr...so he misses class time too. I don't have the patience for home schooling and I don't think my kids would do well in that type of situation.
