Michele- I realize I only know you from your writings here, but as far as I can tell, you love this sport, and you want to jump. What you have here is totally normal, it happens to everyone when they haven't jumped much for an extended period. I got the jitters when I went a couple of months this winter without jumping. The only cure is to get out and do it. You will feel at home once more... Marc

Proof that I'm at least somewhat of a geek: if anyone played the old PC "TIE Fighter" game as intently as I did, the ideas in that article probably sounded very familiar. I think this movie totally redeemed Lucas, personally. People have complained about the huge number of characters and little bits of stories all over, but AOTC had so much to set up for episode 3, I don't think it would have been possible to have a small, charismatic cast that you could get to know well (like in episodes 4-6) accomplish the same task. And any movie that can keep me paying close attention for a full 2 hours and 40 minutes has to have some merit. I also find it hilarious that Jar Jar Binks plays such an integral role in bringing Palpatine to power. Just think, if someone had just shot him in TPM like we all wanted to, there might have been no Empire... M

shit:shit:shit Moved out of my place at school, back to Springfield for the summer... fuck this place, this is the last time I'm coming back here--I don't have any friends to do anything with in a 110 mile radius. And now I'm without income for a couple of weeks and can't jump this next weekend either. Pardon me while I swear loudly. At least I got a couple of jumps last wednesday, and went out 4 nights in a row. Gotta love finals week. Bored and Lonely Marc

0:5:2 Saturday was gorgeous, did 3 sitfly jumps and got some sweet video. Sunday at Hinckley- got 2 in before the winds picked up, 2nd one was my 100th on a 9 way plus video that went all to hell, but it was a blast nonetheless! I think the video should be coming sometime. Yes, I got pied. Holy crap, did I get pied. All in all a great way to take my mind off finals for a while! M

I'll be the dorky looking skinny young guy complaining about the weather sunday, because I can't make it saturday. I'm very easy to spot if people convince me to do RW- bright red and blue jumpsuit, bright green helmet, black rig. It's a getup loud enough to hear in freefall. M

Ooh! Ooh! Can I do it this time? Heheh... In a nutshell, your canopy doesn't know what direction you're going-upwind, downwind, crosswind, straight up, diving, it will fly the same way no matter what. You're gliding through a giant mass of air that is also moving across the ground, which creates wind for those standing still on the ground. When you're going downwind, it just means that your speed across the ground is higher, not your speed through the air. My guess is that you saw the ground going way faster than usual, got freaked out and flared a little high and a little hard. That's what I did when I downsized, anyway.

I agree that the Church should not just sweep this under the rug, but I have a problem with "seeings how it is such an issue why doesnt the church make it "fine" to have sex, get married etc". All that's doing is ignoring the problem. Hell, some people like killing other people. They have issues with the laws about that. We could legalize murder, then there'd be no more illegal killings. But it wouldn't stop people from killing each other, nor would it make it right. Argh, I have finals, I don't have time for this... M

School forced me to change my plans-- I can't stay all weekend like I intended anymore, I'll be taking a final on saturday. But I'll be out Sunday for damn sure. And this time, I SWEAR I'll be able to hit a slot without taking anyone out. I hope. M
