jeez what a shitstorm....okay, to clarify: i am not into swooping or any high performance landings. Tonto, i said "dont tell me im going to die, ive heard it before" to try and get my post answered and not degenerate into this flame party. you said i am making a decision with all these decades of experience telling me not to do it. bullshit. i have decades of jump experience that specifically recommended this canopy to me. my AFF-I has 4000 jumps, my DZO has 4000 jumps, my main coach has 1400, my S&TAs have 6000 between the two, need i go on? all of them (and more) recommended the 190 to me. now having said that, i apologize to everyone. i did not mean to come across as arrogant and know it all or whatever. but think about this: i KNOW my coaches, DZO, AFF-Is, and S&TAs, and they know me. i do NOT know any of you, nor do you know me. whose opinion would YOU trust in my shoes? As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

is there a massive difference between a 1.1 wingload and a 1.3 wingload? no canopy sizes, no exit weight provided. just answer the question please. what is the minimum number of jumps for a person to try loading a wing at 1.1 in your opinion? meaning i won't jump an f-111 again. i hated it, the controls were mushy and it flared for absolute shit. hookit - thanks, and yeah youre right it was probably asking for it, but i wanted advice on learning the canopy and not flames. i have talked extensively with several people at the dz about what canopy size to get. both S&TAs, the DZO, and all the coaches i work with told me to get the 190. edit to add: i have no interest at all in swooping, in fact it scares the shit out of me. i just wanted advice on getting the most out of this canopy as i plan on jumping it for several hundred jumps. hey, i have 30 jumps: 3 tandems, 4 on a telesis 265, 2 on an f-111 (NEVER again), 20 on a zpo 210 and 1 on a sabre 190. i am buying a rig this coming weekend, its a sabre 190 main, PD 210 reserve. i will be loaded at 1.29:1. any advice for getting to know my new canopy other than the obvious (open high, play high etc)? note: i know lots of folks here think 1:1 is max loading for under 200+ jumps. please dont tell me about how i am going to kill myself, i have heard it before. i trust my S&TA implicitly, and i have been cleared to jump this size canopy. please just give advice for getting the most from this canopy. thanks. hmmmmm..... well, i have been to Afghanistan, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Azerbaijan, Mexico, Panama, Turkey, and Canada. and before you ask, not in the military but on vacation (i always get asked if i went to Afghanistan in the military - NO i didnt i had a tourist visa and was there in September 2002). so, how adventurous are you? i would HIGHLY recommend Cambodia and Afghanistan - the friendliest, most hospitable people on the planet. both are fairly dangerous places to be if you dont keep your wits about you, but if you do, they are awesome. tame traveller? try Hong Kong, Thailand, or Mexico. Thailand and Mexico can be a little dicey at times, but still fairly safe. and they are very pretty if you can deal with the typical poverty and squalor that comes with travel to the 3rd world. if you need any info about any of these places feel free to PM me. dan As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

you really need to stop differentiating between "legal" and "illegal" drugs. alcohol, caffeine and nicotine are DRUGS. period. they are mood altering substances just like marijuana, cocaine, LSD, etc. from a pharmacological standpoint they are all drugs. legality doesnt really make a difference in whether or not you are able to skydive safely under the influence of any of these substances. you might want to try contacting ABATE or AIM. they specialize in motorcycle rights, etc. and sorry to hear about it...i cant count the number of times i have had some FUCKHEAD pull over in my lane and force me to move, sometimes intentionally. i now carry a small bag of marbles...when it happens i get in front of the car and flick a marble behind me. nothing like a cracked windshield to get those assholes off your tail. i have also kicked a couple of dents in doors in those situations. and yeah, when the cops got there they didnt have much to say to me - they know what the drivers in this city are like. have you asked your instructor for an AFF diveflow overview? i got one when i started AFF, it outlined the TLOs for each jump. after each debrief i went over the diveflow for the next level with my instructor for the next weeks jump. and i never got my TLOs on the way to altitude - we dirtdived them. i was asked by the instructor to describe the entire diveflow to him on the way to altitude. i found it helped me focus and allieviated a lot of the door fear. dont know any Angels, but i do know quite a few Iron Horsemen and Outlaws. one on one they are not really bad guys, but get them in a group when they have been doping or boozing and watch out...any little thing can set them off, and if they perceive an insult to one member you have to deal with the entire group. there is NO forgiveness in the 1%er culture. and BTW, they DO do a lot for charities like toys for tots, childrens hospitals, make-a-wish etc. i guess in their minds it somehow makes up for the other shit they do. also its good PR for the club - something they very rarely get.
