Good point... Also a very good point. What it all boils down to is a matter of personal choice. Don't want that in your body? Then don't put it there, it's that simple. Maybe we are government guinea pigs, but no one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to take the flu shot. There are some very good points that have been made on both sides of the issue. Personally, I choose not to take the shot much to the chagrin of my chain of command. In the military you have to have the flu shot yearly and so far, after 4 years, i have managed to avoid it....we'll see what happens this year. oops....busted! i was at work and my buddy busted me fixing my thong as it had *ahem* rode up a bit. this got me to thinking...what are some of the things that you do when you *think* no one is watching? we had a great laugh from the situation and now i have been teased to no end for it. c'mon, give me some good stories, i need to redeem myself esteem here! i did not have the same instructor each time, few students actually are that lucky. the problem that i encountered is that some would be rushed and simply perform a gear check for me without an explanation. i said some, not all. other times what was explained to me one way was done in a different way by another instructor on the next jump. i also believe that some of the responsibility was on me as well. after all, i'm the one jumping the gear so i should take it upon myself to find out how shit works. bottom line...the guy had a question and he asked it. i say good for him. he recognized that it was an important thing and he asked for help.

no, i understand what you're feeling. i'm a newbie too and i have almost got all of my gear together. i'm broke so i have had to buy it individually. i spend alot of time looking around for good deals and many nights i would rather have been partying at the dz than whatever lame club i was at. In terms of this conversation, my house is steel shrouded, rebar reinforced concrete in regard to no posts...what can i say, i'm new and not very computer savvy, give me time...everyone has to start somewhere, right? in regards to the name, city, and dz....i travel quite a bit and i have not settled in one area just yet. i'm currently jumping at two dz's, neither of which i feel is a home dz for me yet. so, rather than put some bs up there i chose to leave it blank until i find somewhere to settle. HELL NO! i try to live my life to the fullest. i don't think i could do it if i constantly had my expiration date hanging over my head. no amount of money could replace the joy i get out of living! i have gone for quite some time now with little money and i have still found much happiness. besides, 10 years and a billion dollars is nothing compared to seeing your first born child smile at you, or sharing a lifetime of memories with the love of your life. give me time over money any day! wow, you must have been guided by angels, with a horse shoe up your butt, clutching a 4 leaf clover while in free fall... that's how lucky you are! it just reaffirms my theory that when it's your time to go nothing can change that....your work here obviously is not done yet! my mom told me about a skydiver that was on yahoo news that plunged 11,500 feet and survived. i found the thread pretty quickly on dz.com and got the real story. soooo glad that you're okay and recovering!
