Don't get me wrong guys.. The birdman suit is TONS of fun.. I was at 10,000 watching the tandems open below me. I flew circles around the airport.. 2 minute plus freefall.. Amazing forward speed.. EXTREMELY slow speed openings.. Just make sure you have practiced your emergency procedures time and time again.. Know how to cut the wings away.. Pull REALLY high say 7 grand the first time just to get familiar with everything. Have fun and be safe!! I will be purchasing a birdman suit soon!! IT was that cool! Not sure? That's why I'm asking the question? Crossbraces hold the shape of the canopy right? And the Airlocks maintain pressurization right? You would have better luck sinking a Triathlon than a Cobalt.. It has a slower stall speed.. I had a Triathlon150 at 1.25 and could sink it straight down.. It was a very safe and versatile canopy.. Blue Skies and Smooth Rides!! http://www.aahit.com

I told him to jump what I would put my son on.. There are reasons for the selections.. But you are right. Allot of good combinations.. I believe the Triathlon is absolutely the BEST first canopy for anyone.. My son will have one when he starts jumping. It is great in wind, turbulence, chop, and it's easy to pack.. Get a PD reserve.. A Triathlon main.. And a Jevelyn container.. RSL.. And a Cypress if you can afford it.. You can't go wrong with that combo. You will be 225ish out the door.. I have 7 jumps in a birdman wing suit.. It is a matter of education more than anything. Do not get in that suit until you have studied what can go wrong and how you will react in an emergency. How to exit the aircraft. Know your range of motion. If you find yourself in a spinning malfunction under a small main you could be screwed if your procedures aren't EXACT. You can't reach the handles the same in a wing suit. I pulled higher.. No less than 5k because it took me a bit to get the damned thing loosened up so I could fly the canopy. You need to be between 1.0 and 1.2 for 200-250 jumps.. Depending on how well you fly a canopy.. You don't need to be learning under something you feel is too fast. Blue Skies and Smooth Rides!! http://www.aahit.com
