This probably isn't the right forum for this but I didn't know what the spot was representing. Threw that yoke off many years ago. Religion isn't sacred to me. If I laugh at you're religious garb I don't mean any harm I just think you're brainwashed. Still shows bad form to make jokes about it. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

That's some funny shit! "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan -
Come back EagleeyeWinsor and tell us about Jerry of the death woods. The death woods where the FBI found a sheet with "good luck db Cooper" on it. I guess the FBI found their bodies as well. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

Ya know, just about everyone is on the take now days. It's been like that for ever behind closed doors. Now corporations can own elected officials out in the open. "Dinner Hell! I want a yacht. hot and cold naked running girls and an off shore account." I'll bet this thread is on the NSA's top 10 list with all the shit that's been posted here. If there was a place to give any of them the finger this would be the place. I think Himmelsbach deserves a big FUCK YOU for charging for information about a public funded investigation. No wonder they never found Cooper... By the way...Nice work Bruce! "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

Welcome eagleeyeWinsor to dropzone.com or dork zone as some lovably call this place. If you read more than a few lines you already know why it's called that. It's cool to have someone of you're age and experience on here. Share some history of skydiving with us. Thanks "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

I heard a rumor going around the neighbor hood in the 70's that Pope Valley had a double naked fatality. I lived in the area but wasn't jumping at PV at the time. Any old timers remember that? "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

I think snow's idea is good for page 665, all the regulars post once and give you (377) the first post on 666. I want Cooper to appear as snow speculates, that might just do it. It's worth a try. I once bought an old Ford van for work, that in another life was used to smuggle contraband in a false floor. I bought it from a guy who taught me to Hang Glide, a practicing Wizard/Satan worshiper. It had pentagrams and Satan stickers all over it. He also had some other weird shit in his house and a backyard alter. I used the van for work, left all the stickers on it and was shocked at how many people wouldn't go near it for fear of being somehow possessed. It was hilarious but kept the other workers from getting into my stuff. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

Ya, I found that also while researching decoy flares. I thought it might have been a decoy flare that arced across the night sky but I don't think they had them yet. 377, you probably have more facts on that than I do. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

Nope wasn't there, but researching the Cooper hijacking event weird coincidences always seem to pop up. It seems the crew seats and passenger seats in 727's were manufactured by the Weber Aircraft Company. WEBER 801135-600 10-3091-4 Pilot Seat Boeing 727,737 series http://www.aviationqualitygroup.com/html/capabilities.html picture of Weber seat I don't know if it's relevant to the event but interesting anyway. We already know Duane was Cooper but maybe he got booted from the company and that was his grudge. This would also explain Duane's knowledge of 727s. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

Yep, Reddale, Red Cloud, Gold Rose and Butte. There's many ways to plant them. I think we've decided on the method. Ya, he's here somewhere, probably find his gear in an old potato patch. Really just growing ammo for the old potato gun. I hope they're the right caliber. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

Thanks snow, just got our potato buds in the mail yesterday. Be planting this week. Yes we get mail delivered on Sunday, one of the few places in the USA. Don't ask... "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

Ya, those flare pens are pretty cool. In the early 70's the sister of my girlfriend at the time was married to a Marine aircraft crew chief who gave me one. Her dad was on a drunk binge and fired it off in our living room. He was sitting in a recliner and I was sitting across the room on the couch telling him to be careful. He was trying to cock the thing and the thumb lever kept slipping off his thumb going click, click, click until it fired. I don't know how many times that flare flew around the room but it was spectacular. The funniest thing was it stopped under his chair and caught it on fire. I guess we were lucky it didn't hit one of us. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

Sorry to here about your cat snow, I know what it's like to lose pets or put them down. When my son was in Afghanistan, as a sniper, the only thing he felt bad about shooting were the dogs. I guess they have wild dogs over there and were told to shoot to kill. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

I think that experiment was already done on an episode of "JackAss" with varying results. bottle rocket in ass "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

Jo says Okay maybe I don't have the best reading comprehension, but I'm confused is it a riddle or not? I just love riddles but if it's not one I'll just ignore the above statement and not start searching for trails that end before they begin. My adviser says I'm wasting my time reading and posting on the Cooper thread. I just don't pay any attention to her. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

Bill Dause is under the chopping block!!
hangdiver replied to ts1962's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
> I don't agree with putting jumpers in the position of having to do a special exit I hate to break this to you, but every exit from an aircraft is special. There are so many ways to kill yourself, you have no business leaving the door if you don't know the risks and possible consequences of your actions or inaction. I've signed waivers that say "I agree skydiving has no social redeeming value". Read the waiver. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan -

Congratulations to Bill and the Jury! I am truly sorry to here about anyone having severe spinal cord damage but everyone needs to take some personal responsibility in their actions. Skydiving isn't safe.. never was. Many jumpers that aren't with us anymore have proved that. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan -
Speaking of skydiver pranks, Here is a link to a story 377 can appreciate. 377 probably knows this guy. I know "Jack" from this story, good friend of mine. I guess the writer didn't ever know his real name because Norton always said "Hey jack! come here". Lots of other cool aviation stories there also. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

HERE is an interesting history on Pinal Air Park in Marana. Also posted up thread a bit. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

Yeah, I jumped at teddy's place, while visiting, in the early ninties. I did some of my first tandem videos there. Everyone was amazed that the tandem pair stayed in the frame the entire jump. Ted's a nice guy, good times. His daughter was pretty cool also. I recall a day we were supposed to be doing some skydiving stunts at another dropzone and the weather was shit. We decided the only way to get the weather to change was go to the bar. It worked after two drinks the weather cleared and we did the jumps. shhh don't tell anyone. I've done a 172 and a Luscombe with the doors and seats. The thing I remember the most about the Luscombe was that I opened the door and put a foot out way too soon. I had to close the door and wait for the spot. Too used to spotting a 182. What he said and maybe a little right rudder. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

>Bruce is back on the scene behind the scenes. He isnt doing Cooper science, just plain old investigating. Is anyone doing Cooper science? Is there such a thing? Bruce needs to email snow's suspect, get an interview and ask about his take on who Cooper was. As far as Cooper science, first there needs to be facts to do proper science. The "facts" are few and far between. I think if Cooper opened and didn't land in the water he lived. I find it odd that the briefcase, moneybag or rig has not been found. I have this vision of Cooper throwing stuff out the rear steps to see what the slipstream was doing. I also don't put to much confidence in the pressure bump being his exit point. I have a cousin who is a Columbia River pilot. I haven't spoken to him in some time but should ask him on his opinion on Cooper landing in the river and never being found. He could probably also confirm or deny the propeller snag theory. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

>What's your son studying in college? He's taking general ed catching up on the stuff he should have learned in high school before dropping out. He wants to be a writer/journalist. He already has some outlines for some crazy sci-fi stories. 3.6 ave. for a trained killer I think was pretty good for his first semester. >What was his take on the whole Ranger experience? good, middling, bad? I'm assuming a little bit just happy to be back ok? He loved it. They really do some sketchy shit. Most of the stuff he did is classified. He really couldn't give me exact dates or destinations before his deployments but we had a code system set up to communicate. He wanted to be a "subcontractor" after discharge but domestic life put a glitch in that which I'm pleased about. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

>That's very Cooperesque. Georger, were you in Ranger training with Duane? My son the Ranger, actually ex-Ranger he's going to college much to my surprise, has a terrible sense of direction. Navigation was his weak point. He was telling me about the cool navigation aids he got to use in Iraq and Afghanistan. If those electronics crashed or couldn't be used those guys were screwed! Does Tillman ring a bell? His stories about nav training and how they cheated are hilarious. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

>I do the exact same thing in parking lots - but you could drop me in the middle of some wilderness and if I kept helathy I would walk out, easily, with a grin on my face. Cement screws me up! I have a very good sense of direction also but after a week of being in a totally different environment finding where I parked is a challenge. If I drew a map on the stub like snowmman and took it with me, I would certainly lose it and have to pay the max amount. I wonder how Jerry would do if dropped in the concrete jungle, everyone has their weak points. "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan
