thanks everyone...ya it was 76 m/hr and we all agreed it cannot be accurate, but i was sub 100 we know that. And my instructor is already going to put weights on me and go up and just work on adjusting to the weights I just didnt know if anyone else had a similiar problem and had extra advice. thanks

haha the advice i got was drink more beer. When i am just regular belly flying i was going about 114 so i CAN fall at an ok rate...just not when im stopping. I promise im not floaty ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A life without a cause is a life without an effect

I was working on fall rate with docking last weekend and was able to fall down to my instructor fine, and went in for the dock but when i went to stop popped up like 6-8 ft (according to him). I am only 5'1 and have an exit weight of about 135-140 with gear on. Does anyone have any advice of how to keep my rate up when stopping. My altimeter showed me going 76 while my instructors showed him at 87. So i was going VERY slow. Im going to try weights but any other advice would be great! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A life without a cause is a life without an effect

does your DZ offer tandem progression where you do two "working" tandems and then take the ground course and move on to AFF category C jumps? If so I would do that. Thats what I did and it saved money as well as made me more comfortable with my first solo. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A life without a cause is a life without an effect

Im still working on my A so take what i have to say with a grain of salt but i starting packing about 2 weeks before i started Aff and every jump so far except for one has been my own pack job. My first AFF was my own pack job. I think it is a great idea to jump your own, not only has it made me a more confident packer it has made me a more confident skydiver. There is nothing like looking above you and seeing your canopy and knowing YOU are the one that packed that thing!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A life without a cause is a life without an effect

I had jaw surgery when i was in high school...although not as major as what you are talking about. Anyway, i saw that you are from texas and my oral surgeon is in houston and i would reccommend him to anyone. He was absolutely wonderful. I'm a poor college student as well!! And i just made my first aff jump last weekend. What i did is i saved up enough so i can pay for all of aff with a few possible extra jumps calculated in. I also started packing about a month ago. Spent 2 whole weekends just practicing over and over and now i have started packing for money. It helps alot not to mention I am there all the time so anytime there is good weather i can try and jump. Plus you get to spend lots of time with some very cool people. Good luck with everything!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A life without a cause is a life without an effect

Well I became a packer about a month ago and i have been packing for other people for the past two weeks so thats why I got to jump my own pack job. I didn't actually realize I would be jumping it when i was packing it. I thought about having someone re-pack it, just because it's definitely a little scary especially on the first jump but then again i have had over 20 successful openings so nothing to be worried about...right Congrats on finishing your aff course!! I wish I was that close to my license. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A life without a cause is a life without an effect
